We bring no Galkas, usually have Elvaan, always have Hume, always have Taru, and never have Mithra. I'd guess we see it about 35% of the time in that group?

Whenever we do lbc run or a 35's run, Mad Bomber has always been up. >.>
Never seen the spider once though.
my group having the same luck lol
15% Mad Bomber pop rate is ridiculous (35% too for that matter). I didn't mean to suggest that Galkas actually pop it, but rather the fact that we have 5/5 vana'diel races for most of our runs, or 6/8 race+gender combo. Either way it has to be something that is based on the group and not on random chance, since I don't think I've seen it *not* up more than 5~10 times in the history of my doing salvage.
About these fuckin ramparts NM pops, my LS leader has this theory that if one NM doesn't pop before 50% life has gone out of the rampart (50 NQ pops), it won't pop for the last 50% either, therefore he just kills the ramparts at 50% and goes on to the next if it didn't pop before 50%.
I haven't seen this discussed or mentioned anywhere in this long thread. Also is there some kind of compilation of all the information you can gather (day, weather, time, etc) of when a NM pops off a certain rampart? We might see correlations in there.
Again last night, 0/3 on the NM pops, and fucked up on pull for 4th one >.<
My ls has had only 1 pop on a rampart before and it was at ~30%.Originally Posted by Kalendor
We had a single Spider pop at around 10% and even drop Machas. There is always a chance. But salvage has a time limit and the ramparts have a certain "quality". So if no NM pops from 100-50% it is very unlikely that mroe than 1 Spider pops from 50-0%. So you are better off testing out the quality of another Floors Rampart.
That is if your people need drops from other Floors of course. We pretty much done now after 4 Usu Feet so we just let 1F Ramp Bleed out regardless.
I see, thanks for debunking that one. We need a shitload of Usu feet, might be worth letting it die of natural causes rather than 35-farming and having 10min left for nothing at the end (we don't have the right setup to kill LBC in less than 10)
Has it ever been documented a Max number of NM pops in a single rampart?
we saw 7 bees once, that was pretty much the only time we saw bees lol. only 1 drop >.>
Had 5 bees once with 2 hikazu feet and 6 spiders once with 1 machas cuffs
I've seen I believe 11 Gate Widows one time. It may have been 10. 3 Macha's cuffs and 1 marduk legs I think.
Given reasonable assumptions about the NM distribution, if you get to 50% and haven't yet seen a NM, there's around a 90% chance that you won't see a NM at all.
What he said. Assuming you can do 2 ramparts 100% to 0%, or 3 ramparts, two 100 to 50% and another 100% to 0%, if you just treat the ones that don't pop by 50% as if they were never going to pop and move on to another rampart, you'll be getting gear faster in the long term than if you do one fewer rampart per run under the dream that it will pop a lone NM below 50%.Originally Posted by aurik
My group is now 0 for our last 8 runs and Madbomber being up. 0/31 runs on msn/whm legs and 1/31 salvage runs got morrigan hands. Only once is freaking 31 runs have we ever got Gate Widow to drop something...
Likely this is because a guy named Wolftamer whom might be the unluckiest person in the world.
2 baflau runs planned for tonight so lets see if we can go 10 straight runs with no Mad Bomber =(
0 for last 9 on mad bomber being up.
Good news is Peryton finally dropped legs at least. Grats Wolftamer
have done bhaflau 3 times.
1st - Mad Bomber up, no spider
2nd - Mad Bomber up, 5 spiders - 1 glove, 1 leg
3rd - Mad Bomber up, no spider
I like the fundaments of this idea. All salvage zones have a "hard" path and an "easy" path, where the hard path presents more chances to get gear while the easy path presents more chances to get cells. Sometimes you can mix the paths ofcourses, but the idea stays constant.Originally Posted by LordBane
-Silver sea has you choosing between NMs and locked doors or open doors without NMs. Between good cell drops and easy mobs or (supossedly) not good drops and harder mobs. Granted the "hard" path is still easy, but the optional path is way easier.
-Zhayolm has the same, you can choose between an easier path where mobs drop cells, time constrains are easier, etc. The hard path leads to lv15 gear AND lv35 gear assuming you had the time to do it all, while the other path only grants you a chance for lv35 gear. Granted, it may not sound like a fair deal, but the paths are there.
-Arrapago doesn't present a secondary path, but it does present a challenge that's harder than the rest of the run. I'm speaking about the 7' floor, which gives you extra chances at drops.
Clearly in Bhaf we see two paths as with Silver sea (well duh, being inverted zones as they are =P) but we see no reason to choose western path. Mobs are harder, drop stats instead of gear and clearly make the run harder yet... there's no compesation on NM chances?
So the logic is there, but there's a primordial problem with this. It's giving SE a lot of credit. The problem is we are maybe expecting SE to have designed things with such levels of logic behind, but truth is they've made many many many absurd decisions through out the game. Under that light, i wouldn't hold high hopes for this.
Still, i'm curious and would like to test it out, but as things stand for my group, we still need to spam LBC =/ So not gonna risk it till we are done there.

Btw, just to mess with the Mad Bomber crap, we used to see it up a lot but lately it's not poping for us. Same person triggering the run and i believe we've had no special changes to the setup, but ours is rather inconsistant sometimes. I'm not sure what could affect his pop, but it's most likely just random. Either way, it freaking blows >_>
I can't seem to find it, but i assume the "day of entry", "time of entry", "moon phase" and crap like that has already been discarded, right?
We tracked game day, moon phase, and east/west for several months. The post should be in this forum somewhere, and clearly shows Mad Bomber doesn't always pop in a certain room on a certain day/moon phase.
The race/gender idea is an interesting twist that hasn't been brought up before. Maybe Mad Bomber only pops if it's somebody's RSE week, or some ridiculous condition like that.
My group tested and disproved RSE week. To fully eliminate this loony theory, can anyone confirm entering with every combination of race and gender, with or without a Mad Bomber pop?Originally Posted by mackerel
If we can get one confirmed sighting and one run without, we prove race and gender are not factors.
