Our group is now 1/8 on Bomber being up on West trying Green Light Theory. 4-5 different people have now done the entry incase the person was lagging or doing it wrong but nope it is never up. Had 2 bombers in about the last 4 months now >< ;;

Oh well, guess it didn't pan out. Sorry guys. Guess our streak was freakishly lucky. That or there was a ninja edit in the last updaed.
Has this one been said yet for mad bommer. Enter on even min irl and open the two doors on odd. (I.e Enter at (hh:mm:ss) 1:02:01, open the first two doors at (hh:mm:ss) 1:03:01-59?
I can't take credit for this but its always worked for me.
(Its the two doors, doesnt matter if its east or west, First leading to the chest, and the second to pic the direction)
I can't understand what you are doing.Originally Posted by Kitsesettse

Then are you opening the 2 doors in an interval between hh:mm+1:01 and hh:mm+1:59?
I think he just added seconds in for the sake of having them there, but he means enter into the zone on an even minute 1:02, 1:04, 1:06, etc, then pop the east or west door on an odd minute 1:03, 1:05, 1:07, etc.Originally Posted by Aburu

I could almost see something like the green light being true. I can not however imagine that it is dependent upon even/odd on both doors.
Not making a new thread for this, but since the advanced topic was locked and there has been a lot of speculation about gems changing from red to green, I wonder what would happen if you traded Alexandrite to a socket in Salvage...![]()
I saw someone in thread tried somewhere and nothing happened, I can't where or who said it now though; or else this could be way we need to produce them/Originally Posted by Almalexia

Sorry for the slight necrobump, but I've only recently started doing Salvage, and my group is decently fresh at it. A few people have experience, but a few are also completely new to it. Our setup for LBC so far has been WHM RDM BRD MNK MNK MNK THF and PLD (for backup cures). Last time we also had a DRG there who Angon'ed and occasionally Jumped. Our main problem seems to be mages running out of MP, which kinda confuses me. We've read up on the strats, we have two MNKs on LBC usually, with the third standing by in case one of the two tanks go down. The THF only Feints to get on hate list for TH placebo, and then stands by and Collaborator my PLD and the mages. The status effects are being removed fast, and we kill most of the gears on the previous floor (8/10, 9/10 etc), though we've as of yet not managed to remove the hate reset effect. If the mages don't run out of MP, eventually at lower %, things will get hairy and mages occasionally pull hate. If they do, even once, it's pretty much over. So either they're out of MP, or dead.
For our next attempt I plan to have the mages bring some meds beforehand (vile for instance), and also going to bring one of my secondary characters (WHM) instead of my PLD. Any advice beyond that? Changes to setup? Most other people in my group have a mage job available (except me, who only has them on secondary chars). Any advice for the MNKs? They're both BB MNK/NINs, BRD usually sings double March, RDM sticks their enfeebs, if we get revitalizers we have one or both open with HF for hate. One of the MNKs Counterstances, one of them does not.
It's very aggrivating to get LBC down to like... everywhere between 5% and 30% and then getting our faces pushed in. Granted, we've only attempted this a couple of times, but I'd still like to just see if there's anything we've overlooked. People keep telling me different things. Counterstance, don't counterstance, kill gears, don't bother with gears, need 2-3 WHMs, one WHM is fine, need 2 RDMs, 1 RDM is fine...
Unless you kill 10 out of 10 gears on the previous floor you won't have a fully nerfed LBC. If you haven't nerfed LBC then your best bet would be to prevent it from doing Homing Missiles. If it does Homing Missiles chances are pretty high that you have to cure a whole lot of HP on a couple of tanks who have 0 hate (hate is reset). LBC will go straight at your mages as if they are made from honey and hes the bee.
What you can do to prevent it:
* Kill 10/10 (single) gears on 4th floor. -or-
* Tank LBC on the sides, tanks must reposition when LBC faces them (do not hit during this period, be ready with stun)
Just from my personal experience on LBC. Unless its nerfed meaning that you killed 10/10 out of gears, LBC can be pretty random. Sometimes you can do it unnerfed and have a BRD + WHM + RDM and its perfectly fine. Other times you can do BRD+WHM+RDM and its not. Sometimes LBC just spams TP moves. I've done it before where it does a TP move every 3 seconds (with 2 mnks on it) and and does steam inertia so fast that my erase timer isnt up from the previous erase.
Sometimes thats just way it goes. LBC can be extremely aggrivating. Just need to keep plugging away at it and eventually you will get it. If you can get the 10/10 gears it makes it extremely easy. Problem with this is that it takes a ton of time and to be honest, wind weather will probably end up making you more aggrivated than LBC is now. But doing the 10/10 gears is nice if people need Marduk Legs/Skadi body from Peryton.
Just from my experience probably the only sure way of always having enough MP is to have a MNK + MNK + BRD + RDM + COR + WHM tank party (in the event you get a spammy unnerfed LBC). That should be enough MP that you wont have to rest. Dont know if COR is an option in your group however.
Also Should be saving 2hrs for like 25%-30% (if you arent already) because like you said thats when unnerfed LBC gets a bit crazy to deal with.
Just keep your head up and make LBC a personal vendetta and you will be fine.
you can always pull the 2nd mnk off for the last 25-30%
If your mages are running low on mp, make sure your BRD has a Storm Fife if they don't have one already.
Is it mandatory that your group start with LBC, being "decently fresh"? Do you have 35s from Arrapago Remnants waiting for completion? If not, you might want to try something else first. Unnerfed LBC is probably the hardest boss to deal with, so unless those pieces are needed right now, a newer group (even one containing some experienced members) might consider starting elsewhere.
COR is unfortunately not an option.
We always tank LBC from the sides. I guess if HM still gets off once in a while, mages need to be faster with Erase, and MNKs need to be faster to move when Erased.
The BRD has Storm Fife.
We didn't start with Bhaflau, and have done exceptionally well in the other zones (apart from y'know, stingy droprates, but what else is new?).
We've tried pulling one MNK off if mages needed to recover some MP, but it hasn't worked out too hot for us. >.< We haven't yet tried it near the end, though.
So apart from training the WHMs to be faster than ever on the erase, I guess our best bet is to absolutely make sure to kill all 10 Archaic Gears? 'Cause the damage is manageable, even with hate reset (~200 with 9/10 gears), which is why I'm a bit perplexed as to why we're running out of MP. If we don't get 10/10 gears, is it worth even trying?
Thanks for the inputs! :D
Yeah its worth it, even if you dont get 10/10 gears
The more you go the better you will get at LBC. Like pretty much most things in FFXI once you do something successful the first time, it becomes alot easier the next time. Unnerfed LBC can be pretty challenging sometimes and sometimes is very unforgiving on small mistakes.
The more you do it as well, the better you will get at pulling the gears. The gears sight link, so is best to pull them when they are moving away from each other, or if they are very far apart. Just beware of wind weather D;.
Just dont get too discouraged. Alot of good salvage groups failed miserably on LBC on their first several attempts. Course most ppl on BG arent going to admit it![]()
Absolutely, assuming you're not running extremely short on time. 4F gears can drop chests with very nice items like Body Boosts, Fanatic's Drinks, and Revitalizers. There's also the (unproven) theory that killing the 4F Chariot weakens LBC's attack or defense somehow, too. In my group's first LBC attempt, we failed miserably at pulling the gears (5 of them warped I think), but we still managed to take LBC down thanks to finding 2 Revitalizers in the chests for the MNK's and then resetting their 2-hours yet again with Wild Card.If we don't get 10/10 gears, is it worth even trying?
