I always start with hundred fist to get it down to 75% asap. Yeah, hate is reseted, but it would be reseted either way. I prefer to hundred fist early when thing are easy to keep under control, than later when mb is low or when it spam ws.

Took it down with:
MNK/NIN
WAR/NIN
RDM/WHM
BRD/WHM
WHM/BLM
WHM/BLM
PLD/NIN (Flash, Cure IV, Brainjack kiting)
RDM/WHM
It was a bumpy fight, but we won on our first try - with a minute left.
The main problem was obviously Brainjack - I had thought it only did spam sessions at 75/50/25%, but it did multiple Jacks several other times.
I think we wasted a little too much time running from it...
Hundred Fists took it from 100% to 73%.
It got a little messy somewhere around 20%, when it decided to spam Brainjack in between a shitload of discharges... for a while, it was attacking at near-Dekka attack speed (or got lucky with triple attacks), but it seemed to subside at 7-8%, from where I basically punched it down to 1%, got charmed, and a RDM killed it with Blizzard III.
Dropped Tsuk. Sune-ate and Freyr's Mask -- I'm 2/3 on the Sune-ate now, just lacking the level 15 piece - probably going for that Tuesday or Wednesday.
If you watch the log/mob, it's rather easy to catch brainjack and gear swap in time.Originally Posted by Waef

Anyway, hundred fists off the bat is the best idea. I didn't pay attention to life to be able to confirm when it can start using brainjack, but 2hrs were definitely down from mine and the other mnk we usually have for a good bit before it started to cycle it.
Damn Francisco you got lucky, i dunno what im doing wrong. how much time did you took on farmin cells, or wel how much time you use to kill the MB??
Yesterday we did a run of course we lose, but LAC was 8% left
Our runs:
80% wipe
50% wipe
40% wipe
49% no wipe, time issues
8% no wipe, time issues
all this runs with 25 mnis lef ton clock.
Our setup:
Tank Party:
Mnk/nin
Nin/war
Rdm/whm
whm/blm
smn/whm
pld/nin
DD party:
thf/sam
thf/nin
rng/sam
drk/sam
rdm/whm
rdm/blm
Yesterday it took uss 10 mins to bring it to 50%
and the last 10 mins we took 42%.
we 2 hour on the last 20% of his hp,
i mean we are very heavy on DD whats going wrong. of course i dont have eyes to watch every movement from our DDS but i dunno.
BTW what food you recomend for Tanks?? mnk and ninja, go def food or go attack food for dmg too.
Your thfs arent going to be doing much damage, the rng will. So it seems to me that the only damage you really have active is Mnk/Nin/Rng. And during charm at least 2 of those are out of the picture.Originally Posted by Alcarin

Are you using Feint?
Are you shadowbinding during charm?
Does your pld have movement speed +?
Bring some blms instead of smn/rdms. You can easily blm kite it with nukes and rng kite it with the pld as support during brain jacks. That way you keep some damage on it.

Crap i missed that lol, ya... Get a brd >.>Originally Posted by Nikko

i mean Francisco pt have 2 melee and i have like mmm 7 i think.
guess i need to get one =(.
We cleared all of Floor 1 - East Path... that got us basically everything we needed except one Magic Cell (for the PLD) and one Stratus (also for the PLD, Crimson Cuisses). Also, we ignored the central room fomors.Originally Posted by Alcarin
On Floor two, we killed a couple of fomor and Imps (SW path) to get a few extra cells.
Floor 3, we skipped everything, and went up the west portal.
Floor 4, we killed a few gears, mostly to see if we could get any Revitalizers or stuff like that from crates... didn't get anything exceedingly useful.
I think we got to the boss with 35-40 minutes or so...
I'd try to get a better DD than NIN/WAR... either a second MNK or a WAR/NIN. I'd replace the SMN with another WHM, move the PLD to another party, and add a bard. The best use of PLD/NIN for this fight is to build hate at a distance through Flash and Cure IV... that way when the melees are charmed, the PLD (and his Crimson Cuisses) have hate, rather than a mage. Our setup:
Tank Party:
Mnk/nin
Nin/war
Rdm/whm
whm/blm
smn/whm
pld/nin
So many melees are counterproductive. THF feeds TP for very little damage... I honestly wouldn't use more than 2 melee on the boss at any given time. Not only will it TP more often, but it'll hit more people, which will kill WHM MP. I suspect that's why you're wiping at 50-80% so much.DD party:
thf/sam
thf/nin
rng/sam
drk/sam
rdm/whm
rdm/blm
As mentioned, you're best off using Hundred Fists to open the fight... it'll take it down to just about 75%, when it starts using Brainjack. Using Hundred Fists at lower HP puts you at risk of getting charmed (and wasting your two hour, AND making you a huge threat to mages). Also, I'm pretty sure it has much lower defense and evasion near the start of the fight.Yesterday it took uss 10 mins to bring it to 50%
and the last 10 mins we took 42%.
we 2 hour on the last 20% of his hp,
We need more experience with Brainjack still... it took us well over 30 minutes to kill the boss, which is too long. A *LOT* of time was wasted kiting the boss needlessly - but we're still not really sure how to read if it's in Brainjack mode or not (while kiting... when can we stop and re-engage. It's definately longer than Charm duration, because I've been charmed, come uncharmed, only to almost instantly get recharmed again.

Again, we had:
Tank Party:
MNK/NIN (black belt, destroyers)
WAR/NIN (man eater?, ridill)
RDM/WHM
BRD/WHM
WHM/BLM
WHM/BLM
Second Party:
PLD/NIN
RDM/WHM
Took us a while to kill, but it was mostly due to excessive kiting....
The only thing I'd change to this strategy is adding a BLM, because the last 20% or so really, really crawls.
As far as food goes, I (MNK) used carbonara, which gives Attack and HP.
Thanks a lot Francisco. that will help me a lot.
You can do without one for lv35 farming, but elegy is almost a requirement for the boss. We got it down once without brd and 2war, but it's much harder than it is. Elegy is kinda needed to allow melee to keep shadow up most of the time and reduce dmg taken by a lot...song also help I guess, but elegy is what make the difference between.Originally Posted by Alcarin
Never send than 2 melee on the chariot to keep thing under control assuming the rng is going to shoot. You could handle up to 4 people giving tp probably with your healing, but dont risk it until you are familiar with the fight. Basically, engage with mnk 2h and make sure everyone is ready to swap to a weak weapon before getting charmed around 75%. Kite the chariot until charm wear off and have the nin/war and pld/nin grab hate as soon as they can. Keep meleeing it like you just did, and you should be able to take it down to 50%ish before it charm again. If people are good at kiting, keep regen 3 and paralyna fast, there is no reason to wipe. Everyone should always have rr for mega, so you arent wasting time in case someone get killed during charm.
Try to get 1-2 blm instead of more melee/sam. You could also have those melee sub rdm or whm to help with healing, but it shouldnt be necessary in bhaflau

Note the successive Brainjacks... not sure if we were getting unlucky (this happed a few times besides at 75/50/25%... or if the "every" 25% theory is just flat out wrong.
The first wave happened at 73%, the second at 58%, then a third happened right at 50%... there were about 3-5 more spam sessions below 50%... so it might be tricky to figure out a better way to get a handle on it.
The ~75% will always happen no matter how fast you zerg it, after that, it's pretty much random, but generally once every 3min or so.
And what's wrong with your picture? That's always how brainjack work? Charm one people every 3 sec until he get bored after 4-5people.
I got a question about charm. How long is he staying in that mode? I know it was discussed a few page ago, but I dont remember reading any clear answer. If you shadowbind it and kite a long time, he is stil going to charm you in the end, but he will never charm another person after you. Does that mean when he is set on you, he will never go back in normal mode until you get charmed?
We've had a brainjack session where he didn't get a single charm off.
Just curious, on the first floor in the room with 16 fomors that you can gather up. How many tier 3 aga's would be needed to wipe them? For a quick farm of cells just wondering if once blm volley would do the trick and if so how many blms would you need.
Keep target lock off and macro "/p Brainjack mode on - RUN <call>" - and run from it as soon as it turns? We've had a brainjack session where he didn't get a single charm off.
Yeah - but I got the impression it would only do this at 75/50/25% - and just randomly charm one person in between. Knowing the duration of Brainjack spam - if there is a set duration - would help immensely. And what's wrong with your picture? That's always how brainjack work? Charm one people every 3 sec until he get bored after 4-5people.
Yeah. After fighting it a bunch you get a feeling for how long it goes between jack sessions. In this one I used Asuran and knew it was gonna jack soon, so I just started running. Sure enough, it turned and started trying to brainjack.Originally Posted by Francisco II
You can tell it's in brainjack mode if it periodically stops and uses a TP move (IStream, Discharge) on any adjacent people even if they don't have hate. If nobody is in range it'll stop for a second and do nothing, then continue.
Part of the problem with that - it seemed just as content to use Brainjack on adjacent people, as it did Intertia/Discharge - unless they got jacked because they happen to have had hate.
Yes it will brainjack anyone it gets close to during the phase. Between 5' and 10' it'll use the AoE tp moves instead. Have everyone run away during the phase.
Two aga is enough to kill fomor Munkey if they all get hit, but they only drop stats cell and gear as far as I can remember, and those usually end up rotting in silversea anyway.
Might be wrong about cell drop rate, but it was pointless to clear that room since it usually involve not giving magic cell to someone who could use it better.
