Best thing I've used so far is run straight to the repopping chest room when you get to the floor and start spamming chests until you find a Fanatic's Drink. Then you have two options, either have the BLM use the drink as the gears are coming in, gather them up, and ES Sleepga II them, or someone else aggros the gears for the BLM to ES Sleepga II, and the BLM pops the drink just before they wake up so they don't own him (3-4 would be alive when they wake up if your team is decent, 2-3 if your team is very quick killing). If you find the Fanatic's Drink fast, go ahead and pull 1-2 Ramparts while waiting for the gears (you can even do this and delay the gears by having your sac puller keep running straight to the end and past the gears just before they are gonna arrive at your group. By the time he gets to the teleporter the gears, even the train, will most likely have lost aggro and he won't even die.).

Otherwise, I think what most people do is run up and pull 2-4 of them right when you port up, then kill them and go pull the NM when you're done, shouldn't take too long. To be honest I think this is the fastest way, but I find the former (killing the gear train as it comes in) safer.

I don't know if this has been reported yet cause I haven't read through all 11 pages but if you kill the Imp, open the door then go back and kill the gears, Gyroscopic Gear will not pop. This is 3rd floor North Side. So if you want to pop Gyroscopic Gear, kill the gears > kill the NM > kill the IMP > pop door. Just a little something we found out today. . .

I believe it's the act of opening the doors that prevents the NM from popping. I guess it makes little difference on whether you kill Imp or all the Gear first, but one run, we killed a few Gear, Imp, and then the rest of the Gear, the NM was up but we didn't try opening the door yet. Killed the Gear NM, no lv35 :S

Finally got a pair of Deimos's Cuisses from this zone. Should complete legs for Archain tomorrow. Bout time some of these fuckers put out. We're starting to get this zone down pretty good. Did Hammerblow > Dekka > GG1 > Don Poroggo > GG3 and got Citadel down to 10% before timing out. Taking Don Poroggo out of the equation would definitely speed this up a lot. Does anyone hit all 5 NMs + finish boss consistently?

We do Hammerblow>Powderkeg>Gears3>Turtle>Boss every run with some 5 mins left <.<

Need like 5 macha slops compared to only one person who really wants dekka drops, but he's barely ever online anyway...

Powderkeg takes less time than Dekka, Gyro Gear, and Don Poroggo from my experience.

My own group has been able to do Hammerblow > Dekka > GG1 > GG3 > and time out on Citadel, but we're not quite as well geared as the JP group I go with (who did Hammerblow > Dekka > GG1 > Don Poroggo > GG3 > Citadel to 10% all while screwing up like 4 times, which coulda shaved off 10min). I can't really see how you'd do all 6 NMs and the boss, though. Even without Don Poroggo, it seems a little.. hard. *shrug*

Edit: actually looking for some tips. GG3 takes us a while because one of the moving Ramparts almost always seems to link me, regardless of how far it is from the gear I pull. I could be more careful here to shave off 2-3min, but what about GG3 itself? We've killed this 4 times now, and the first 3 times it's taken a good 10min to kill because of his TP moves. I tried with just 2 MNKs on it to keep TP to a minimum, and using those and BLM nukes to kill it, and it still used Restoral a few times. I tried trying to mass rape it but it pretty much mass raped us until I had everyone back off. Friday, I just Hundred Fisted it with my drinks and such, and took it down before it had a chance to use its 3rd TP move, and none of them happened to be Restoral, so we actually killed it in decent time. Go figure on 4F, there was a screwup and we weren't able to get Citadel pushed down.

Two of our last 3 runs we've done the Hammerblow -> Dekka -> GG -> GGs -> Turtle -> Boss run with over 5 minutes left but those have both been with above average attendance. I think we had 10 the first run and 11 the second, and when we try that path with our normal 7-8 turtle becomes the limit for us.

What's the fastest anyone has gone from 4F floor entry -> CC dead? We zoned up with 20 minutes remaining on the clock yesterday, but timed out with CC at like 10%. I think we need to start pulling all 4 ramparts at once. When you do 2/2 you lose like 3-4 minutes waiting for gears to travel back to the far side of the map in order to pull the other 2..

We still gotta do turtle lol, haven't tried it yet because we always wanna be guaranteed enough time to clear LAC.
Last run I did Dekka -> GG -> Don Poroggo -> Boss and had like 10 minutes left when boss died.
For Hammerblow, it is impossible to pull unlinked from my understanding? Gonna add that NM in on next run. We've always done the other side because its quicker and didn't have any experience with the linking room. Ideally we could just have a THF or someone aggro them all then kite while they are picked off one by one? Also how strong are these fomor compared to say, 2F fomors?

The 6 Fomors on the west side will all stand next to each other waiting for you so there is no way to pull them without linking them all. The good thing is they will lose aggro pretty fast in the "+" room. So you can have someone grab one off your puller and then make him lose aggro.

The Fomors should be about as strong as the ones around Powderkeg.

We don't usualli have much trouble. We've done Hammer -> Powder -> Gyro E -> CC -> LAC, and Hammer -> Dekka -> Gyro N -> Gyro E -> CC -> LAC... I find the powderkeg route to be a bit easier time/cell wise. We've been capped out on LAC for a bit now, so lately we've been playing around with killing the gear train. It seems to only take about 3-4 mins, and makes the whole floor a lot less of a hassle.

Gyro 3 used to give us a few problems timewise... but I'd say our last 10-12 kills have been 1-4 mins tops. You can't stun it with BLU/Magic as far as I can tell, so if it's restoral happy it's gonna take longer. With 3-4 good DD it should still go down fast.

    Our team is usualli:
    WAR/NIN
    MNK/NIN
    DRK/SAM or SAM/WAR
    BRD/WHM
    COR/RNG
    RDM/WHM
    +
2-5 assorted jobs (RDMs, BLMs, BLUs)

They arent too strong, barely stronger than the other fomors on F1 from our experience. We usually have our monk stack dmg-%, lolVIT, and defense gear and aggro all of them. With 1 whm and rdm it really shouldn't be a problem to keep him cured for all 6 fomors + hammerblow. Usually it takes about the same amount of time as the east floor and cells aren't a problem ( at least with less than 8 people) so i don't really see a purpose to the east wing.

If you have lots of mages and you don't want usukane head, east route is nice since you get far more magic on that side.

Re: Salvage - Silver Sea Remnants - thread 2

I'm getting so fed up with LAC ...

My group short-man's Salvage, usually with 6 people and never with more than say, 9. Being that we're usually only 6 strong, we don't have much extra time to slip in other objectives, so we've been doing Powderkeg then LAC. I'm 2/3 on Morrigan hands, needing only the Bodb's Cuffs from LAC to complete them. We've killed LAC at least 6 times in the past 3 weeks (we run 2-3 times a week only) and we always get the same two fuckin drops; Tsukikazu Sune-Ate and Freyr's Mask. ALL 6 TIMES. What the shit...

Sorry, don't mean to whine, it's just really frustrating. >.>;; I mean seriously, c'mon, I'd even be content with it dropping other useless shit, but the exact same useless shit? Oi... I feel like I'm wasting everyone's time.

Does the same person click the door to enter Salvage every time?

No, I'm always the one to enter for my group, and we've never had dupe drops.

idk, i mean this issue has been brought up before, and it seems groups always see streams of drop repeats, yet other groups see different streams of repeated drops. Clicking the door to enter was just one theory tossed around.
