Ah ok, thanks :D
Just curious: where are people typically kiting? We go between the small rooms on the sides, and seemed to kill it easily once, but have been having a few issues since then.
Small rooms on the sides? Do you mean the porter rooms? You don't need to kite it outside of the large rectangular room it spawns in. Just make sure your mages scatter during jack sessions and u can make a /assist <bt> /wait 1 <t> has hate macro so you know who LAC is going for. Its really easy to kite during a jack session bc of its high TP regen. When it gets within Discharge/Inertia Stream range it uses that, you don't need movement+ to kite during jack phase. After jack phase if you don't have 12% movement+ then it will catch up to you, but thats why you bring a voker to get hate back quickly so you can damage it again asap.
If you can't get hate back quickly it'll be less time to damage that chariot and since brainjack is time based it will jack again before you can do some decent damage to it. NIN/WAR is more than enough to get hate back quickly. Voke/Warcry will set things straight usually. If your a mage and have too much hate, just can intentionally get charmed for the hate reset, it won't do that much damage through stoneskin and tank will get hate back quicker as a result. I think as RDM if I get jacked I'll take maybe 200 damage through stoneskin during brainjack dot if that.
Well, I made this a few months ago for my ls. Respect my microsloth paint skills.

This is a post to try to teach you how to properly kite Long Armed Chariot. Done properly, you can kite him infinitely (as long as you have 12% run speed boots) without getting hit, charmed, or aoe'd.
This is the room set up:

Here's how the room starts:

Now: How not to kite, and how most people do:
http://lunariansls.com/gallery/pictures/bad.JPG
Running around the edge of the entire room is bad.com. He will most certainly catch you, pummel you, and force you to pummel others.
Now for the proper way to kite:
http://lunariansls.com/gallery/pictures/good.JPG
If you move to the center of the room and run along that, he takes a long time to path around the ramp to the left, and the pillars to the right. What you want to do is run through the center of the room, wait til he's pathing through the middle, then cut to a corner of the room (top left, bottom left, top right, bottom right) If you go along with my drawing lets say you're running left, therefore run to the bottom left, then run up the side (up), then to the right a bit, then back to center and across to the other side. This makes LAC path horribly and you can easily out run him. When you reach the other side, wait a few seconds for LAC to be back in the center path again, then cut to the top right corner, then down the side and back to center. He's fumble around the pillars a bit never catching you.
LAC moves at 12% run speed, so you need some form of running speed to execute this correctly. This has yet to fail (I have yet to get charmed since kiting like this with skadi boots, 12% speed) - Only time ive gotten charmed was when I pulled hate and got charmed before anyone else ;x
Hope this helps ;]

end copy pasta. Figure 8's work too instead of the last pic, but I find it alot easier to kite using the pics i mentioned, unless im fleeing.
or you could just use the rooms
with six this is closer to 30~32 minutes than 25.Originally Posted by Wizerd
going east is only smart if you're planning to skip directly to floor 4 with fewer than 8 people (since you'll basically be totally geared up) but you're still skipping an NM for what would basically be about 5-10 minutes of extra work tops (between popping the nm and farming the 'missed' cells)
1F is not 30-32 min with 6, it's like 20min... are you clearing the entire floor? No reason to do that at all. With 6 I clear 1 room, with 7-9 I clear 2, with more I usually clear 3, then fight end room.Originally Posted by Amele
what's your setup? we generally take about 28-30 minutes whether we clear 1 room and the 6 or 0 rooms and the 6. I've been pushing for faster but it's been difficult to get much faster without risking deaths to low mp (I can only carry so many hi-ethers going in lol)Originally Posted by Wizerd

With 6, we typically hit the 30 minute mark sometime during the Dekka fight, so yea going west is definitely less than "30-32".
RNG -> RDM, and melee all bring Hi-Potions. Weapons to MNK > MNK > THF, don't give THF one at start, abilities same order, all equipment to 1 MNK first, other MNK second, then THF, and THF "sac" pulls towards the start or the room you killed first while you pull 2-3 Fomors off the final room, he should lose aggro and come back to help fight by the time those are dead, then just kill the rest. No need for hi-ethers. SJ to RDM, first Ranged to THF if only 1 drops and only 1 magic drops, otherwise give the ranged from chest to the BRD so he can do two songs for 5mp/tick more (Storm Fife).Originally Posted by Amele
I miss anything? All makes for an easy 20 or less minute clear with 6.
We generally do the same thing on 1F. Today we went with 6 people today, RDM(me), BRD, BRD(being dualboxed by me), MNK MNK MNK. During the 6 fomor part, one of our MNKs DC'd. I also screwed up the sac pull(I hate dualboxing in groups). We had only finished 1 fomor by the time the rest aggroed us. However, even with 4 people(RDM BRD MNK MNK), we were able to survive without wiping. I didn't even use Convert until the very end, and our BRD doesn't have Storm Fife either. I think this is largely due to Phalanx II(3 merits). Next time I think we're just going to all out zerg it, should save some time I think.
Tank LAC on the sides. Right before using brainjack, it will turn toward the person he wants to charm. That's where the tanks
must push their macro buttons assap. You can't miss it.

Typically, as thief, I get first weap, sj and ja (dual weild + high dmg from sneak attack, ta and dancing edge, until I swap over to mercy stroke for something) we clear out either part of the room or the full thing depending on our goals (if going for powderkeg, we dont clear entire 1W, if we arent, we clear it out) Use a mage to pull to save time (odds are they wont have magic anyway, and even if they do, they arent killing shit faster so who cares - for all rooms aside from the last room (hammerblow)
For hammerblow room, have one of your monks target the rightmost mob for 3 magics, the thief gets somewhat near them (but not too near) and use a ja like sneak attack, all 6 will start chasing you. Have your monk chiblast the right most one, pull it all the way north and kill there. Thief can then flee away, just run or whatever... use hide (they lose hate to that) a sneak pot and go back to help kill.
I dunno how a Mandau compares to Destroyers, but otherwise, weapon to THF first is a huge waste in any area, since they don't help kill as fast. We give weapon to THF last out of the melees and have had great results since doing so.Originally Posted by Slott
Also, we don't pull anymore in Silver Seas, typically I enter each room first on MNK and the just fight the first Fomor, and the other two link. Then we kill those (Phalanx II and Counterstance here are pure ownage), and run to the last one in the room and kill it.
Hide works on the fomors? <_<
Yes
Hide works on most undead monsters as long as your HP isn't in yellow.
We always give all other melees weapon before THF. A mnk with Destroyers or a SAM with their GKT will speed it up a lot, far outweighing the little TH that THF Knife gives. Only way I could see it being beneficial to give to THF before some melees is maybe if they had a Mandau.
In my group we don't bother farming most of the NMs in Silver Seas just go for Hammerblow > Powderkeg > LAC everytime we do this zone, but if we wanted to, can anyone give me some tips on how to manage and pull/kill Citadel Chalonian?
On our first ever NM farming run we had 15mins (probably 20mins) for it but failed due to how hard to explain for most of the JP members in my group about the pulling process.
Hmmm.. I'm usually thief and usually get weapons before the monks. Its kinda foolish for thieves to be using TK when not on a NM (though on Arrapago ill switch to it before the qutrub is dead if i don't have abilities). Do you really think giving a mnk +20ish base damage is better than giving a thief + 30ish base damage, + 90ish attack, and accuracy? Sincere question, not sarcasm. Since the mnks tend to usually get all the other gear first , I can see that weapons might be best on them. We tend to always give mnks weapons last though if there are other melee that need.Originally Posted by Clynt
