    i find triple gears easier to kill tho, its HP is definately alot easier to deplete.

    2 WS should bring it to 50%, and your safe.

    SIngle gears seem to have more HP

    Re: Salvage - Silver Sea Remnants - thread 2

    Boss takes us 12-13min now, better than we were doing before. SMN are very, very nice for this thing lol. Nothing is more fun than having your two monks get charmed, and hitting Titan with their Signet Staves while 2-3 Titans tank LAC, constantly getting brainjacked with no effect. Makes it very very easy for Monks to get hate back after charm, too. Working on lowering our time but seems pretty hard. I think it woulda been faster today if he didn't start charming at 75% (usually waits to ~55-60% to do the first one, but then we didn't have any Barb drinks today).

    MNK MNK WAR WHM RDM BRD
    THF SMN SMN SMN

    Also makes for pretty fast clearing of gears and such, and Gyro Gear wasn't nearly as bad.

    Edit: Unfortunately, we have to take a full 30min on 1F this way because the availability of magic cells, compared to the need for them, is way off, and we end up clearing the entire floor.

    2F should have enough magic cells for all.

    even if you dont get enough, 3F gears will prolly cap out ur party

    imo, just spend timd on 1-2 ectra fomors in 1F for a range cell(if starter box dont have it), or a leg cell(if starter box dont have it), or a magic cell for ninja(rdm > ninja, and again if starter box dont have it)

    either 1 of the 3 will do the trick to head straight to 6 fomor room.

    range: for thf to pull at max range and run
    legs: for thf to use skadi feet or powder boots to aggro and run when no range cell
    magic: for ninja to tank the very first MNK at 6fomor room so that your grp is pretty safe for the run

    Re: Salvage - Silver Sea Remnants - thread 2

    Spending the time on 1F is well worth it later on. Thanks to Ruk's unimaginable luck on Usu feet drop from LAC, we had to do this zone over and over and got pretty darn good at it. With our standard 7-8 man setup [ WAR SAM RNG RDM WHM BRD, THF + DRGorWAR as 8th for some runs ] we would consistently do Hammerblow -> Dekka -> GG -> GGs -> Turtle [ if we didn't get Fanatics quickly or made mistakes on previous floors we would just stock up on drinks, kill chariot and port up, was 50/50 hit rate for us, and always wanted at least 20 for LAC as safety measure since it was our real target ] -> LAC usually with 5+ minutes left [ 15+ if we didnt kill turtle ].

    A huge key for us being able to do this was killing everything on 1F, it makes Dekka and the gears much easier when you're DDs are fully geared, in terms of killspeed and damage taken, and not actually farming the gears for required cells.

    A typical run is
    1F: 25 minutes [ Hammerblow ]
    2F: 10 minutes [ NW => Dekka ]
    3F: 20-25 minutes [ GG -> GGs -> trigger Rampart ]
    4F: 5-20 minutes [ we kill Turtle by using Fanatics on THF to gather mobs and pull 4 ramparts to start ]
    5F: 10 minutes [ LAC sometimes dies in as little as 7-8 but 10 is about our average ]

    Giving NIN magic first is pretty gimp if you haven't got Kikoku - NIN isn't gonna keep hate even with Provoke. We find NIN is pretty worthless, but none of our members have relic weapons. MNK MNK WAR is a pretty solid DD setup but from the sounds of Lhexh's group it might be a good idea to shove a DD or two in the extra party that doesn't need magic, if only just to speed up Dekka.

    Also Arthars, sure Powderkeg route targets a lot of fomor for magic drops, but it also targets less gears, so we opt to go North route most of the time. (However, we got 3 Silver Sea Cards yesterday so we're good to use SE route for a while)

    Re: Salvage - Silver Sea Remnants - thread 2

    not nin first magic LOL. is 2nd magic if u read carefully w

    and NIN is not gimp in salvage even w/o kikoku :O. Rulude is the only MNK on ifrit i find good, other MNKs even with BBs etc etc etc arent doing as good as her. And i dont look for good MNK. I look for the best. Its her play skill that makes herself have an edge over similar geared(are there?) MNKs on ifrit. sure if u have 2 extremely good mnks, NIN is not needed, but for my case, i dont trust any other MNKs lol

    but i do agree theres alot of gimp ninjas out there, they do not know the nature of monsters and waste time on stupid ichis etc on certain mobs. That is pretty why they cant hold hate, or cant do damage well in salvage lol. There are times i go THF on random /shout group, and its very dissapointing to see their NIN or even some MNK that are doing 50% of what im doing when on NIN. some JPs need to learn to read NA forum and get some things right when playing ninja ;\ Doing stuffs they do in 2004 isnt gotta work now. NA playskills and strategy have pretty much surpassed the JPs.

    and also:
    MY GROUP WILL NEVER HAVE THE CHANCE TO GO N ROUTE ; ;

    i think you know why, but incase u dont................ MACHA SLOPS IN CRAZY DEMAND LOL

    but sure those that go NW for dekka will need to farm 1F more, because 2F NW room only got like 2 mobs for cells ;\

    but that means u have lotsa extra time for 1F farming cell :D

    First, Second, same thing; waste of a magic cell when you could just take one of the 3 guaranteed drops from the Hammerblow dudes. Anyway, doesn't matter how decked out the NIN is, I just find that Monks, even naked with Destroyers, kick the ass of any non-Kikoku NIN I've seen (never seen one in action in Salvage with Kikoku, so I don't know). The only DDs I'll ever bring to Salvage are MNK, WAR, THF, DRK, SAM. The rest, while good, aren't the best, and that's what Salvage is really all about - making the best out of the time you have. I suppose DRG is ok too, but I've never tried it.

    Also, Macha's Slops might be in high demand, but nothing near the Robe or Feet, and we do those now every time we do Arrapago/Zhayolm, so I figure the mages can wait for their slops.

    Re: Salvage - Silver Sea Remnants - thread 2

    Actually I kinda found that MNK became somewhat obsolete with the 2Hand update in salvage. We stopped bringing them entirely since its SOO easy to cap ratio on salvage mobs with a BRD that 2-Handers absolutely destroy everything. We've relegated ourselves to using WAR, SAM, DRG, RNG only as DD and we are killing a hell of a lot faster than we used to with our MNK burn setup.

    Our Monks still consistently do way more damage than our 2-handers do. I've found WAR with Great Axe is good but it's very dependant on merits/good gear in order to outparse a Monk. We pretty much have top gear on the Monks though and our 2-handers aren't geared nearly as well. Most of the people that inquire about my LS are pretty much nobodies without gear, so I'm not in a position to get really good 2-handers.

    Re: Salvage - Silver Sea Remnants - thread 2

    The last few runs of Silver Seas we've done, we also tried out using no mnks.

    2 Sams make for nice tanks in that weapon/ability and the can somewhat blink tank w/out the need for SJ or magic on that first floor.

    How much of the 1F W do you all kill before NM to make it up in 20 min or less? My group seems to lose alot of time here. Probably pulling too slow. Often only have a cor in place of brd =/, that doesn't help either.

    Hammerblow, Powderkeg, Cyro Gears, Citadel all done with 6 people and killed train afterwards to farm cards. Of course no time for boss.
