Did this yesterday, 6 ppl, about 12 mins left after killing Boss.Originally Posted by Neosutra

Chainspell grav the 6 gears + sleep and pick them off.
BRD soulvoice on the 4 ramparts (THF uses fanatic drink + PD = more than enough time to log out after 4 taggers tag the 4 ramparts), and DRK whip out KC 2Hr on CC + nukes from RDM makes it a breeze.
Weird setup, but ya, its doable. Suprised ya had 12 min left over though...Originally Posted by wop
We do that clear with about 8 people (mnk mnk sam brd brd rdm thf blm) And kill boss with only a couple minutes left.
Still working on efficiency I guess..
You forget his team has a bunch of relics. GHorn brd, 2 KC DRK and one of whom has Apoc as well.
His setup is not practical for most of the population.
Add: Keeping up the heals on 2 DRK/SAM would be a lot harder than 2 MNKs.

Hey guys, just wanted to know what your average boss drop looks like. We're about 1/20+ on 25 usu feet and have gotten dual skadi a minimum of four times, getting at least 1 piece of skadi every time except for twice. -.-
Skadi's Mask and Ares's Gauntlets were always the most common drops for me. But then again a boss always manages to sneak a Skadi piece into the loot pool. The last time I went to complete a pair of Usu feet, we went 1/13.
And then there's my group, who have the following:
Long-Armed Chariot: 13 kills
Skadi's Head: 7
Skadi's Body: 1
Ares's Hands: 3
Morrigan's Hands: 2
Marduk's Legs: 4
Usukane Feet: 9
6 of those have been in our last 5 kills, while we've been trying desperately to finish someone's Morr hands. We've actually run out of people to give them to.
FU Get me my Usuakne 25 feet Therin since we sucked at LAC when you were on Cerb.Originally Posted by Therin

What really sucks is needing nothing but 35's for all of your Ares pieces and having absolutely none of the NMs drop, ever. Except for the body, got Deimos's Cuirass two runs in a row yet we've never seen a 35 legs, head, hands, or feet.
If you had all the 35s though, the boss would find a way to consistently fill our loot pool with Skadi. Once I get Aurum Sabatons, if I could, I'd give you my Ares feet. What really sucks is needing nothing but 35's for all of your Ares pieces and having absolutely none of the NMs drop, ever. As for Silver Seas breakdown for us Vegetto, uh, I think we've gotten maybe 5 Usukane feet overall? They were mostly spread out, the vast majority of drops consisted of crap like Eas. Eh, it's mostly a case of keeping at it rather than getting demoralized by a case of shitty drops and trying another zone.
Can anyone link to me an easy to follow guide of this run? i'm debating taking my group in here this evening but i don't understand half of what you guys are saying, you're all very experienced and i can't keep up :/.
Noob guide please >.<.
I'm kinda suprised so many people still try to fit boss into a run, done this zone so much that we just don't need it anymore.
Vivi, figure out which NM's you want to target in the zone then look for specifics about how to pull them. There are a lot of strategies for pulling both Hammerblow and Turtle and they vary significantly in difficulty. You'll have to pick one that fits to your set up.
There probably isn't a better way to do it than, check wiki for drops/nms/paths then read through this thread looking for info on the ones you need.
At least for my group, as we rotate newer members in to replace people that have quit the game or cut back on days, we pretty much always have to do boss runs as well. But why not do them whe you can hit all NMs and boss in a run.
Just feels better when at least something drops Q.Q
1F
-Take West path, kill two side rooms, then move to hammerblow.
-THF aggros the line of mobs and runs them back to the start. Monks grab the far south mob (monk) and the Elvaan (corsair), bring them to the south or north side of the big room.
-Kill those mobs and slowly kill the other mobs as they return to the room. The THF will easily lose aggro on the mobs he aggroed before, even with out Flee.
-Kill hammerblow, send someone to the portal at like 40%. Use Sneak in the huge formor room for whoever is going to port. They will follow the person but won't aggro.
2F
-SE is Powderkeg path, and will give everyone a lot of gear and stat cells early. Clear the whole room to pop powderkeg and to open the door. Imps link with Formors; you can normally deal with 1 link, but if you get 3 mobs it gets hard to manage them.
-Kill Powderkeg and port up.
3F
-Up to you if you want to kill Gyro Gears (Triple), but it would be a good idea if this is your first run, since its a bit easier to pop than Citadel on the 4F.
-If you do chose to kill it, you need to clear the big east room of gears. There are 8 of them I think. Make sure to move mages back, away from Rail Cannon (3 Gears = AoE, 2 Gears = Conal. 1 Gear = Single target).
-Port up on the West side to give plenty of time for the boss.
-If you chose to skip this and want to do the Turtle, then you need to kill the stationary Rampart on the 3F to be able to port up on the east side.
-What I do, is have the THF aggro everything in the room. One rampart won't move, so that's the one you need to kill. The THF will try and stay alive as long as he can w/o using PD or Flee, but when he is about to die he'll pop PD. When PD is about to wear off, he'll use Flee and run away to try and deaggro the gears and Rampart. Have the THF run all the way to the West side to lose aggro.
-Kill the Rampart and port up.
4F
-If you're on the west side (killed GG3), then just have someone with movement speed port up.
-If you're doing the turtle, then hopefully you have a Herme's Quencher on you, and can have the BRD run and quickly aggro the gear train. It's best to have the person with the Quencher to port up so he has a jump start on aggroing the gears.
-Bring the gears back, and ES Sleepga II the gears. Kill each gears 1 by 1 and have the BLM focus on sleeps.
-After the gears go to the Rampart room. You need 5 people to tag mobs. There are 4 Ramparts and the 1 Chariot. You only need to kill the Chariot if you want to do the boss. The THF can again aggro the room and Flee it away to the north, while everyone grabs the Ramparts/Chariots and brings it to the north side. Kill the Chariot first, and then the Ramparts.
-Save BLM mp for tier3 nukes on the Rampart when the door is open to try and prevent Reinforcements. Port up when everything is dead.
A little off topic here. Take this information any way you want - chances are it's just an extreme coincidence... and I'm not implying anything here
My group's killed Hammerblow roughly 45 times. Two of those ~45 kills have been without any form of TH (thf didn't show up), and both of those non-TH kills have dropped the 35. None of the kills with TH have dropped. Like I said, take that info any way you want, not implying anything about the effectiveness of TH on hammerblow.
Also slightly off-topic, has anybody noticed strange gear behavior on 100% Full Moon Lightsday? A week or 2 ago we were doing a standard Hammer > Powder > Gyro > CC run. We were running a little behind so we decided to train the gyro gears room and kill the stationary rampart, as we'd done probably 10 times without any incidents. THF starts at the far corner of the room, Flee aggros the whole room, runs down the hall a bit while we kill the rampart.
This run though, 100% Full Moon, Lightsday, no weather... all but 2 of the gears lost aggro on the THF before he even got out of the room. They reset position, indicating no hate on anyone. Then, they randomly started chasing after the THF again 30 seconds later.... took one or 2 swings at him, then came all the way back to the gyro room, swarmed our monk... then went BACK to the THF, who was still all the way at the center area of the middle section of 3f. We're all very experienced salvagers, but none of us had ever seen anything like it...
The strangest part though... the THF ended up dying in the middle area (where the slot is)... gears came back and killed us all. The rampart we'd been fighting had summoned a Garm, but we were able to reraise safely... but when the THF reraised all the way back at the slot, the Garm aggrod him from halfway across the zone. We were all completely mind-boggled, and ended up failing the run because of this ridiculous mob behavior.
So yeah, has anyone noticed any strange behavior like this? Seems very odd that we've done this exact run many many times without any problems, but all this wierd stuff happens this time
Never done Hammerblow as no one had it on their list, but as we get better we know we'll be able to fit him in as well. We usually take the east path and with Phalanx 2 my MNK's say that the mobs usually do 0 dmg per hit.
Are the mobs in Hammerblows room the same or are they a lil tougher? I believe I seen earlier in this thread that you can just have the MNK's aggro the whole room and just Phalanx 2 tank all the mobs as you pick em off one by one. If the mobs are a little stronger what kind of DMG on avg would they be doing to a MNK with P2?
not very strong, fully armored mnk with lv3~ phalanx take 0 dmg almost everytime, but of course you gotta erase aegis schism.
I doubt he would be fully armoured seeing as how it's 1F and from what I understand theres only a few mobs on your way to him and me and the other RDM only have Lvl 1 Phalanx I believe. With 2 MNK's and 2 RDM's w/ Phalanx could it still work this way tho or would they take too much DMG?
