THF is extremely valuable during the climb in Arrapago.
THF can staple a lot of hate on to tanks vs the boss.
THF is counterproductive feeding the boss TP.
THF/SAM works.

My senior class elected me Captain Obvious.
Silver Sea question: Do the six fomor in the Hammerblow room ALWAYS link, or just if they're in linking range? I've gotten mixed answers on this.
Only if they're within link range.Originally Posted by Francisco II
To the poster who claimed to have killed the turtle and LAC in the same run, do you mind giving more details? Numbers, jobs, time spent on each floor? My group has been going between LAC and CC for some time now. We've killed CC 20+ times only to have the crown each time now, while doing some runs lately for LAC for the Usukane feet. We just want to save some AP and try to get both in the same run.
Our usual setups involve pld, rng x3 (for death rng combo) cor brd war whm rdm blm and some dual-boxed mnks for the first floor or two when we go on LAC runs. Turtle runs we usually don't have pld and less rng while having more melee. Looking for ideas for a good medium of jobs for both NMs. We usually deck out, in order, our plds then rng, then mages for cells. For cutting down time, we thought about training the roaming gears instead of killing them while bringing the ramparts all the way back to the porter room to kill them for the rampart to pop CC.
Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Also, we're planning on going for Hammerblow > Dekka > Citadel Chelonian tonight - probably with 6 (MNK, NIN, THF, BLM, BLM, RDM - and maybe a second RDM (or BRD) and maybe a BLU).
I've got everything down except for the coordination of Floor 4... when we enter the East Wing - we start in the far NE room?
And when training away the Archaic Gear(s) in the Gyroscopic Gears room, is the door opening Rampart just 100% non-aggro, or just non-linking - supposedly it won't move when you make a train - but I'm not sure if our puller should take care to not blatantly aggro it.
2 mnk, 1 brd, 2 whm, 2 rdm, 3 blm = 10 people that day, didn't bring thf since we only wanted crown
edit: the trigger rampart doesn't move, all others move when they're aggroed.
The ramparts are passive but link via radius, and gears link to them as well. The trigger rampart will not move even if you attack it. The trigger rampart also won't lose hate, ever, and any gear that floats by it if it is an aggro state will link and make a beeline for the person with hate.
The other 3 will lose hate if you train them, and won't aggro on their way back to their spawn points (but they will link if you're fighting a gear or rampart when they wander by).
doing another SSR tonight
Anyone doing Powderkeg > CC > Boss, with a group of 6-8?
edit: Also, our bard swears this statement is not correct concerning the powderkeg room.
"However, imps will link to fomor by sight and fomor will link to imps by sound, so take care when pulling."
Brd says:
i pulled a fomor and an imp was close but wasn't looking at teh fomor
Brd says:
and it turned around right as i pulled and aggroed
Brd says:
i dunno
Brd says:
maybe i'm reading it wrong
Brd says:
but the imp shoudl have only aggroed if the imp was facing it
Can anyone confirm this?
Is there a way t weka the egaboss in this area? or is actuallya joke megaboss?
You need to take a few more seconds typing your post so that it is readable, lolOriginally Posted by Alcarin
If I understand what you are asking, there is no known way to weaken LAC
In my three runs doing this - it seems that certain imps and fomors are paired together... they may link based on pairing, but only within a certain radius?Originally Posted by Odog
We've gotten some imps solo, but it's not very common.
Also, we've been popping Powderkeg with 6, killing it - and popping Gyro Gears. By the time we pop Gyro Gears, we usually only have 10-15 minutes left.
We're hoping to go Hammerblow > Dekka > train Gyro room, kill Rampart > CC tonight; but that depends on people logging on.
meant to edit, not quote...
Yeah Aurik, to save time we just want to train them away while pulling ramparts to the room where the gears won't go to. When someone pulls the gears we designated different people to each grab a different rampart so we don't lose any.
Dunno, we are worried we just won't have enough time, so we may go with the idea of just doing NM on one run and LAC on another.
Because those 3 or 4 meditates you'll get in the 10-14 minute fight are seriously going to impact the fight. Might as well sub nin, get some subtle blow, and drop 150(no bard)-300(bard) dmg every 30 seconds, and get 100% TP in 5 minutes (minimum of 10% TP guaranteed every SA/TA round, with a possible bonus of anywhere between an extra 5% (brutal double) to 20% (trip on both hands) TP)Originally Posted by Francisco II
For a small number team, THF/WHM would also be a viable choice for some extra curagas during boss fights.
mnk/whm as our 6th worked awesomely well when we did zhayolm.

We typically get everyone magic unlocked in SilverSea, especially if we're running a small group. With 4 magics guaranteed on the first floor, you don't need many cells to finish everyone off.
Thought I was in arrapago thread... nvm what I said :|
