Not worthy of the drop thread so I figured I'd put it here:

FINALLY the damn Chariot puts out. About 20 kills and this was the first time we've seen the boots, and he gives us two. Woooo.

What, his boots? I don't even know what those are, lol.

*EDIT* Looks like Temple Gaiters +1 according to his FFXIAH page. Are those bad? DEX+5, Evasion +10, enhanced Dodge. Doesn't seem to be that bad of a choice for chariot tanking since he's capped on Haste already.

Well, capped on recast I mean.

Those are solo only, really. They don't need to be kept on to enhance dodge so you can just macro those in. He would have been better off with fuma or dune boots for a faster chariot kill rather than trying to worry about evasion (and if his recast is capped, then he shouldn't really even have a problem keeping shadows up to begin with)

Sorry, I've been trying to look for a low man strategy for LAC but I've been unsuccessful. We normally do it with about 8 or 9 people with my linkshell, but I'm wondering how it would be done with 6.

Just looking for set up and basic strategy, though I'm assuming it would be almost identical to a normal fight with 8. Excuse my salvage nubness.

First of all, make SURE you have plenty of time for the boss if that's your primary objective, until you get the fight down. I'd say at least 20 minutes to begin with for killing and distributing(I guess). Bring it outside of the room he starts in, back to where you went up. Just kill it like you'd kill anything else, and when it brainjacks the first person, everyone should scram. Going from the center room, around one teleporter, back through center, around the other teleporter, and back to center should be enough time for brainjack phase to be over (And also time for the charmed person to get rebuffed). Stop back in the center and resume killing again. Repeat, zerg sometime past 50% if you want (2hrs, fanatics, etc). As you get used to it you can start doing it faster.

Pardon me if this strat is newbie, just trying to help this guy out - it's what my group does for LAC and we're always 6-7 people.

we just kite it in the pop room. Running around the pillars along the walls makes it so he never catches up to you anyway, even without increased movement speed. Iunno, works for us.

Also, his brainjack is both time based and % based, whichever condition is reached first. So keep track of time or %, and you can call in party or LS chat right before charm to either

    1) have the MNK's switch weapons and start kiting if you do charm + kite strategy
    2) start kiting so the MNK's don't get charmed at all

Also, try to time Regen on the MNK's if you plan on getting them charmed.

I didn't know that brainjack was timed and percent based. What are the percentages and what are the time intervals in which it uses it?

It's true for the first Jacking, it's Either 75%, or a time interval that's unknown to me as I've never taken that long to beat him to 75%.

He doesn't stop everything he's doing and start jacking off at 75%, if he's in a TP move or his AI is thinking, you're able to take him lower, like 70% even.

Uses Brainjack every 25% almost on the nose. I think the time interval is three minutes otherwise. Don't quote me on that.

it's around that. we bump into it sometimes if a taru mage ends up kiting and doesn't have the guts to stop right away heh. it's less than 4, how long it actually is depends on when you start counting.

Our usual BJ moments are 74%, 54% and then 34%. After that we SV and kill it, but sometimes we've had rough moments and i've seen charms at 1% after. It's indeed both time based and HP% based, but i'm pretty sure it's not fixed at 25%.

These numbers sometimes vary a bit, but they help to project your strategy correctly. The one that's pretty much like a clock is 74%, assuming you aren't wussing your damage on it.

Our current LAC group 6 maned is MNK, THF, BST, RDM, BRD, (insert healer). Although obviously not necesary, we developed an almost fail proof strategy with a BST to kite LAC on charm phases. Also, we set MNK, THF and BST to melee LAC, our MNK tanks it solo from start to finish; although she doesn't have Spharai, the rest is pretty much pimped apart from full usukane, so I'm not sure how a more standard monk would fare as solo tank.

Although I doubt anyone will ever really try BST here, i'll take the chance to explain how we do it: First, your BST needs to be decently geared, no AF meleeing <.< I personaly /war for this, since you'll never take hate to the point where you need shadows and your damage is pumped by berserk and double attack, which is very needed by BST.
The objective here is to always be second or third in the hate list, just after your tank, so that you can transfer hate to your pet on every charm phase. You do this by relying on your damage dealt, although you can use provoke and warcry to help build hate at some points.

Ofcourse, you need a pet for this to work, Carrie recomended since she'll be pretty much just tanking. Snarl (the hate transfer tool <.<) makes this strategy a bit tricky though; snarl has a 10' range, but the range is based on the distance between your pet and the monster, so if you snarl with your pet away from LAC, it won't work, hate simply won't be transfered (nor lost, you keep it). Your pet can't stand near LAC without getting damanged by AoE, so if you keep it there it will eventualy die.

What I do is keep Carrie away (make her stay out of range) and be ready to Heel as soon as you see it turning onto your first tank, then wait a second or two while Carrie walks to you and when you see her at you, Snarl. This transfers all your hate and next target is Carrie (assuming you were second) or it will charm your second tank and then go for Carrie. At this point LAC becomes a puppy, all you have to do is kite it so that Carrie keeps as much HP as possible.

When your tank(s) uncharm, you make Carrie Stay while your tanks take hate back (this can take a while xD), so she'll be tanking alone. Once you see Carrie is no longer the target, Heel her and Stay again out of range. She will regen most if not all her HP before the next charm phase. You might need to use a Sheppherd's drink (you always find one of those anyway), some reward food and maybe another CC through the fight, but that's about it.

I know everyone goes "lolbst" and some will probably say "we just bring <insert super pimped out job> and kill it in 3 minutes", but for a group that isn't stacking relics this has a couple good points:
    - You get to keep your THF in a 6 man group
    - Charm phases become "rest MP" phases for your mages
    - Your kitter never ever gets charmed, even if kitted wrong

    Good luck.

    it's a good option.

one of our monks has gaiters, so we tend to just have him kite
our thief has trotters, but he rarely has hate so it doesn't work as well.

although I'm surprised you find a need to rest mp with both a rdm and a brd (I get something absurd like 11mp/tick in salvage on whm/sch; with light arts and penury for any incidental raises I actually have trouble spending mp fast enough heh.)

It's usually after 25% that it will BJ but our first hundred fist always gets it to like 70-72% . If we don't hundred fist it usually BJ at 74% all the time.

Just did SSR and noticed something really odd when pulling PK room. I pulled one of the rdm fomor and the first thing it did was start out with a Barbed Crescent. just thought it was really weird since i've never seen that happen before =/

Was there an imp/fomor currently being fought at camp? They seem to have shared TP or something like that. When one uses a TP move, others with current party hate (being pulled/kited) also does a move.

Man. I was going to answer thinking it was a noob who just started salvage, then I read the name. I really want to punch you at time.

Fighting an imp near a fomor (or vice versa) is going to give tp to both mobs. You can be within "tp range", even if it didn't link, and it's probably what happened. Actually, thinking about it, it's possible the add just linked and unaggroed, but the tp sharing doesn't reset with aggro.

I'm not sure which one triggered it, but either way, beating up on an imp is going to give other fomor TP.

We are going to attempt 2nms and the boss tomorrow and I thought I would run the strategy by you all to see if you had anything to add/poke holes in.

The plan is to take in Thf, Mnk, Mnk, Brd, Rdm, Whm, and possibly Mnk.

On the first floor we are going to go west and take out Hammerblow. I was curious as to how many of the fomors we should kill along the way, all 16 or 12 perhaps.

On the second floor we are just going to take SW and port up to the 3rd floor.

On the third floor we will dodge the initial ramparts/gears and do Gyro gears. After we finish him off then take out the ramparts until we open up the portal up to 4.

On 4 the plan is to just do a flee to the tele with a possible perfect dodge if needed. I am curious as to how difficult this is if at all. I assume the chariot is not avoidable and will aggro which would then be a good time to trigger flee.

Then on the boss the usual strategy. Just curious if the path to the boss seems possible with the jobs in the pt as well as the nms planned. TY for any feedback.
