I haven't thought of super tanking it, but what kind of gear should the monk have to do it safely? I know that counters will take off a bit of the other fomors. I can't quite remember how much they hit our Monk for but it wasn't like a negligible amount. Taking off 15 minutes from the first floor would be a godsend.
That's a pretty solid setup you have going, similar to what we use. When we first started the super tanking method, the MNK would actually bring a defensive setup, at the very minimum arhats gear. Nowadays, our super tanking MNK just does it in his normal DD gear but I will tell you that me playing RDM with lvl 5 Phalanx2 makes it a bit smoother. The tank gets hit from 0-25 dmg which is more than manageable. If you decide to try the super tanking method, make sure your healer(s) has MP before you go and if you want to be safe, make sure your MNK brings plenty of hi-potions jic. Make sure things like dia, aegis schism, and counterstance aren't on, or your tank gets raped pretty quickly. Once you get the hang of it and your healer gets a feel for how much MP he/she needs to get this done then you can speed up 1F to be done within 20 mins.

if you going North way, and if people have the right job, I would advice to use a lot of piercing DD. Imp, Gears, and mega boss are all really weak to piercing.

Really? I never notice this on thf ._. (not like I'm allowed to DD the boss anymore anyways)

This is true for almost every mob on the first floor of all the zones. Healing the first floor without lvl5 Phalanx II is a pain. Less time healing = more time hasting/debuffing = less time per early floor.

not the Chariot but I think LAC is, we got it down almost faster with DRG/SAM+MNK tanking than SAM/WAR + MNK, +RNG really destroy it :s

ranger really destroys anything with a high level adjustment compared to typical jobs; that's not an accurate indication of what it's weak to.

it's also likely that your drg/sam went more nova with his abilities than a sam/war would and is probably more accurate as well (again, not an accurate indication of what it's weak to.)

we haven't seen any indication to lead us to believe that lac is 'weak' to anything other than blackmages... (go go hate reset!)

Were conditions the same? gear/stats unlocks, same support? Also, I'm not sure if it's true, but I'm inclined to believe that bosses can spawn at different levels. Sometimes, it's just really hard to land debuffs, even with similar unlocks.

The plan is to take in Thf, Mnk, Mnk, Brd, Rdm, Whm, and possibly Mnk.

On the first floor we are going to go west and take out Hammerblow. I was curious as to how many of the fomors we should kill along the way, all 16 or 12 perhaps.

On the second floor we are just going to take SW and port up to the 3rd floor.

On the third floor we will dodge the initial ramparts/gears and do Gyro gears. After we finish him off then take out the ramparts until we open up the portal up to 4.

On 4 the plan is to just do a flee to the tele with a possible perfect dodge if needed. I am curious as to how difficult this is if at all. I assume the chariot is not avoidable and will aggro which would then be a good time to trigger flee.

Then on the boss the usual strategy. Just curious if the path to the boss seems possible with the jobs in the pt as well as the nms planned. TY for any feedback.
Here's what my group usually does

always look out for fanatic drink/Hermes on treasure chest, give them to THF.
always assign someone to keep track of time (time entered, time remaining)
assign 5 people to pull on the turtle floor beforehand

    1st Floor:

Depending on which route we going, Dekka Route: clear all 4 fomor rooms, PK route: kill 1st 2 rooms. Gear up both tanks, pick 1 tank that gonna get all the gears 1st. Having RDM who have phalanx2 GREATLY helps 1st floors especially SSR. On hammer, make the @1 mnk wear all phys-% gears, arhats,BB,earth staff, etc, and have him AGGRO the whole room and stand there while the other DD kill the fomors. With phalanx2 he should be taking little to no damage. with maxed merit phalanx you can even forget the phys gear and kill the fomors too.

    should take around 20 mins

    2nd Floor:

    Dekka floor: 10-15 mins

    or

clearing whole room and killing PK should take about 20-25 mins tops.

    3rd Floor:

    Dekka route:
    clear G1 room > kill G1 (15 mins)
clear G3 room > kill G3 (sleep any linked ramparts, outrunning them is just waste of time)
    (15~20 mins)

    PK route:
clear G3 room > kill G3 (sleep any linked ramparts, outrunning them is just waste of time)
    (15~20 mins)

By the time you kill G3, you should have at least 40 mins if you want to attempt turtle safely. If you have less than 40 min, just tele up.

If you have enough time, on the G3 room, there should be a rampart that's not moving, kill it and go up to turtle.

    4th Floor:

Fillmode helps alot in this floor to spot the gear trains
on windower console type fillmode 1, and fillmode 0 turn off.

If you haven't find any fanatic drinks on the previous floor, here's your chance. the assigned 5 ppl for pulling run ahead and check the chests on the 2 rooms for fanatic. The rest of the people stay @entrance.

If the gear train approaching, quickly hide in the corner of the room and they wont aggro.

wait for the gear train to pass the ramparts room before the THF sacs the room for the pull.

THF put on RR and sacs the rampart room (just run around aggro the whole room and die @safe place for RR, stand by there after all ramparts dead for pulling CC), the assigned pullers pull the ramparts and chariot. bring them to the entrance when the rest of the people are. sleepga the ramparts and kill chariot there. remember dont sleep the ramparts near the room because the gear train can link with rampart.

After ramparts/chariot dead, CC should pop shortly, THF pulls CC(no need to pull CC to entrance this time) pull back while the rest of the group catch up and kill CC.

IF the gear train were to come back and CC not dead yet, go pull/fight CC in corner and NO MAGIC until the trains pass.

after CC dead, should have 15-25 mins left for LAC, plenty of time.

go up for boss and kill it, voila.

with this strat, my salvage group consistently full clear SSR with 10-20 mins left after boss dead.

We do the CC floor slightly differently. We have the thief, me usually, port up to CC floor. Flee immediately and pull the gears (this way you dont need to wait for them to pass, can kill them fairly quickly). When all gears are dead, have people ready to tag ramparts and pull them to the 2nd big room. Thief flees around the room gathering them, and runs south.. to the bottom of the hallway passed the big room, use fanatic/hermes and flee back to the 2nd big room on the north side (I guess the "first" if you consider where you're porting in from). Thief can now help DD and doesn't need to die.

Ok I just want to ask the vets something about a boss run. The setup will likely be Thf Sam Mnk Mnk Whm Rdm Brd. I was wondering when we should use 2hrs. My plan was to have the brd start with SV and one mnk use HF and knock him down to the first BJ phase. Then after that have the other mnk HF. Then at around 25% have the SAM go in and burn 2hr. How does that sound?

That's perfectly fine. LAC is one of the weaker bosses, so if you have everyone two hour it to start you might find yourself running away from a HF MNK (who should have macroed in a staff or other innocuous weapon just to be safe anyway).

Cool, now if I can just get the mages in my SP to not panic during BJ. This will be our first SSR boss run so I'm not expecting it to go too smoothly, but we'll see. Thx for the feedback.

The only other thing to remember with LAC is you cant zerg 100%, due to the Brain Jacks there is basically a set ammount of time needed to kill it. If you zone up with 7-8 mins left your probaly up shit creek.

For us, Brainjack is dead on the money 75% > 50% > 25%.

We use 3 WAR/NINs to tank it, and they are so use to it, 2 of them pull up on damage nearing one of those 3%, and they start to move away, the 3rd pushes it to BJ, then the other 2 kite it rather easily untill BJ-phase is over with.

Its a little chaotic at first if your ppl dont understand that scatter is important. Mages need to not just stand there and assume that the DDs will kite it till BJ is over, as some times they get charmed and then your mage that is next on hate list is all the sudden pummled by 2 DDs and a Chariot.

Once you get the hang of BJ phase, LAC is pretty lol. His Def is like a Dynamis SMN mob, and his offense is pretty low also.
