Don't think there is a way to improve drop rate. I'd say it is completely random like most other things. With opening all chests except for the last 2 morr leg drops that Mdk mentioned, we are 6/112, 6/57, 4/70, 2/52, 9/70, 1/50 for Powderkeg, Hammerblow, CC, GG1, GG3, Dekka in that order. And that's the actual drop rate, no duping bullshit.

Unless we've unintentionally done something to improve our drop rates, I'd say drops are just random or we're stealing all of your drops. The lowest drop rate we have is from Dekka, who we never do since only 1 person needed the feet. We're trying the theory out still, but I highly doubt it works. Don't think we can get much better drop rates then we already have, so yeah.

edit: k, 2/51 now on Dekka as of today, didn't open any chests, heh.

when you got luck in SSR drops, your sets usually complete within 1 month maximum

you can go 14/15, lacking the SSR 35, and then go 1 year wait

    living example: Neosutra

being said, the "Salvage Gears Anyone?" thread should be named "SSR Gears anyone?"

SSR was the last piece needed for my skadi set ^^, it's the last piece needed for Neo's wife too for Marduk.

For the thing about not opening chests, does this apply to any chest including the one at start?

Dunno how much truth there is to the theory, but at this point I'm willing to try anything.

I've been waiting on G1G to drop the 35 gloves for a year now, and the one run to there i've missed in the last few months they dropped.
This zone seems toahve the worst drop rate ever

I dont think you can really say 0/197. You've seen the drop. If I'm 6th on the list for Morrigan legs, I'm not really going to be 0/600 before I get them. Just seems like you're painting the wrong picture :/

guys, what strategy do you use to kill chelonian? kill all gear that patrol the zone? or another? i don't know how some links can farm all 4 nm, with my ls i can farm only 3 nm ( usually usukane haed, morrigan legs and ares legs)

Some people flee aggro and kill all 6 gears while some people rush to pull the ramparts as soon as they warped to the 4th floor.

Just need to fight the ramparts at the corner of the big room so you wont aggro the gears when they move back.

    15min mark on first floor
    40-45 min on second
    60-65min for turtle and
    85-90min in for mega
If you're able to aim for those time, you should be able to farm the zone completely

    For CC itself
#1 Pick 4 "pullers" for the rampart and 1 person to train (thief with rr)
#2 Thief aggro whole room with fanatic or PD, everyone grab their designed rampart and pull it to the very first room
#3 Fight all 4 rampart there while the thief come back (he should be able to make it back alive without dying if he is careful)
#4 When you're done with ramp, go fight CC in the 2nd chest room in the closest left corner. Make sure one person is checking for the gear train to come, and stop casting when they are close.

We sac the Rampart room and pull them back to the starting room. Most important thing about this is to not go much further than 20' when pulling them back, stopping when they open and close their doors so they don't deaggro, and to have person trail the ramparts to pick up any that may have deaggroed.

^This is the by far best way I've tried doing this floor. Pullers and THF charge towards the CC room as soon as they tele up. There's plenty of time to make this pull - most people underestimate the amount of time they have before the gear train shows up. Once we reach the start tele with all the ramparts, I'll usually have everybody 2hr the 4 ramparts (and/or the minichariot if we feel like killing the boss). With 2hrs, the ramparts are usually dead just as the gear train reaches us and starts heading back the other way. Then we have like.. 10 minutes to kill CC and use flies/get to the tele before the train reaches us. Killing the gear train just sucks up valuable time for no good reason... we'll only kill it if we're desperately low on SSR cards for Zhayolm farming.

Fitting more NMs into SSR is really just a matter of good pulling and fast kill speed.

Reinforcements from these ramparts are pretty weak Shouldn't take more than 10 or 15 seconds to kill them - just have a BRD sleep them until the rampart you're currently fighting is dead.

Even if I were to explain the situation behind when I saw the drop (not my group btw), it still doesn't make 1/197 any better. I fail to see your point.

The most pervert 4th floor of Silver Sea I seen we first pulled the Geartrain and finished it off.

Then pulled all 4 Ramps plus Chariot. Killed off chariot first then the 4 Ramparts. Try to keep the rampart summons slept. Once the 4 Ramparts are dead the CC Rampart will pop and spill out CC all while there are still rampart summons out.

So pull CC as fast as possible and you are able to ignore any left over Rampart summon till CC is dead. Then warp up to boss afterwards without losing time on summons or chariot pull.

This is not an appropriate or accurate comparison. I still do not see a point based on this.
