No kidding. I won't pull powderkeg room on BRD unless I have HP. Preferably also SJ for Blink.

we've done 4 SSRs since the update, 2 Marduk Feet. 1 Morrigan Pants. Nothing else, definitely seems like there's a higher drop rate, but we've still never seen ares' pants.

8 months of SSR before the patch (average 2 SSR per week) yielded my group 0 35's (not an exaggeration -_-)

    Since the patch, 0/2 Hammerblow, 0/1 Dekka, 0/1 Powderkeg, ... 1/2 CC!

I really think this is weather/day/day entered dependent. Never followed it consistently enough to call it for sure though.

You mean the Elvaan? I think the Elvaan Fomor are COR, they don't seem to have Evasion Bonus.

Has something changed with the gears in the Gyroscopic Gears room? We've gone twice in the past week and each time we pull a gear out of that room into the big room they link nearly the entire room. We used to try to bring 2-3 in at a time if we could clear ramparts, but now they're all slowly training in. Last night I pulled three gears into the big room at the entrance, two singles and one triple. We had the singles slept while they were taking out the triple when another single wandered in a few minutes later. A few minutes after that another triple came in, then a single. It was really odd because we always fight in the big room and no one goes into even the hallway except me when I pull. This was a really, really long link time. The weather was water both times. I'm thinking either the linking range has changed or we managed to aggro the rampart that doesn't move both times and the gears linked to it and came after us.

I know the general consensus here for 4F is THF sac room->grab ramparts->pull to first room->pull CC to corner(no magic if gear trains come by)->THF flee to protal while the rest pulls the Chariot.

Just wondering though; has anyone tried Chainspell sleep II gear train->kill gears->THF sac pull while the other 5 people pull ramparts AND Chariot->sleep Ramparts and zerg it down starting with the Chariot? The JP people have always done this in the handful of SSR runs with them and it seemed to work quite well(THF logs out and survives and no need to pull again for Chariot). Any idea how this method stacks up against the normal method?

Having experimented with the CC floor with almost every single known strategy, I'm still not a fan of killing the gear train. I'm the timekeeper for our group, and every single time we waited to kill the gear train it would always prolong our the time spent on that floor.

The bonus of not killing the gear train is that you can get started on the ramparts right away, instead of wasting time on killing things you don't need to. We have a slight variation of the 1st strat you listed:

After porting up, THF sac pulls the gear room. Then you get 4 ppl to pull each rampart, and 1 person to pull the chariot and you drag the chariot + 4 ramparts to the portal room. If you're doing a 6 man run, have 1 person pull 2 ramparts and leave a healer in the portal room to cure whoever pulls the chariot. Kill chariot first, and have the RDM chainspell sleep the ramparts. We have it down to a science, so that all the ramparts are dead before the gear train will make a 2nd pass and we can kill CC in the corner, then have the THF flee straight to portal.

It took my group a good while to decide that this was the best strategy for us, obviously there's gonna be ppl who prefer to kill the gear train but I found it was always faster to skip it.

changed strat recently, we do ramparts first then when CC pops we grab CC and chariot, i solo tank CC while everyone else focuses on chariot, once Chariot down everyone rapes CC while we ahve 1 person waiting at the door to go up and do LAC..

been working well however turtle still being bitchy and not dropping, we got 3 morrigan pants since update though O_O

The strat with killing the gear train in an attempt to save time, would include the thf porting up the previous floor (so he's first to load), then immediately fleeing to chase the train and pulling it before it reaches the rampart room. Then running back, using PD probably and sleepers already running otw up to save him. It takes too much coordination, little room for error, and might not even save you time.

but yeah, I prefer the strat of pulling the ramparts and skipping the gears.

We used to kill the gears, but imo it is a waste of time. You can avoid the gears easily, and it actually saves time to avoid them.

    ^ this and..

We've been pulling Chariot + 4 ramps durring the sac and then CC. It's shaved enough time now so we can do boss as well (15-20 min for boss normally). Doing this with 6 people and is reletivly easy if you're people know what they are doing.
