Yeah, we do the same thing. Usually have main MNK pull the chariot to start while 2 others (usually RDM and a second melee or similar) pull the ramparts to start. As the Chariot is faster then the ramparts, the melees can start killing the chariot soon as it comes to camp, while the BRD and RDM sleep the ramparts when they reach camp.

I hate to ask this question, but what is the significance of killing the chariot in the CC room?

Is it just to get the thing out of the way?

To unlock the door so you can port up to the boss.

I've been thinking about this for awhile, but my group is relatively new to most of the Salvage zones. We've gone 2/5 on LBC and now 1/1 on LAC though it was a bit messy; my question is if anyone knows the usefulness of SMN against LAC (based on the fact that summons/pets can't be charmed, stacked with supportive healing, paralyna, etc).

If the pet is high enough on the hate list to be after the tank(s), would it just use Brainjack endlessly on the summon until Brainjack phase ended or summon died, or would it ignore the summon altogether?

Groups have used that to their advantage with both SMN and BST pets. I've never tried it, but it sounds funny.

Edit: To be clear, yes, it just repeatedly attempts to Brainjack the pet.

SMN and BST can work on LAC, but I'll be completely honest with you... just accept the time drain and exp loss, and learn to do it with your normal salvage setup. Once you get the timing down you can kill him easily in 10-12 minutes - the only tricky part is making sure no more than 1 or 2 people get charmed.

Also, 1/5 hammerblow, 1/1 dekka, 0/1 gyro single, 0/4 powderkeg, 0/5 gyro, 1/5 CC since the patch. Loooooving it.

My group tried this a few times, it was difficult to get more hate than the healers had accumulated, late into the fight. For instance, once the tanks are charmed, LAC would head straight to our WHM because of the hate accumulated. It's really not a workable strategy to think that SMN pets will be able to keep the Boss's attention during a BJ phase.

Of course, when it works it is rather funny to watch.

BST might be a better match, since the BST can co-tank for a while, with his called pet out of AoE range, and as soon as the boss turns, can hit "Snarl" to transfer all hate to his pet. Of course relying on this would go south rather quickly since you'd be riding call beast timers most likely.

But yeah, having tanks that know how to kite during brainjack is optimal. Especially if they have any +movement speed, for instance, hermes' sandals are very useful.

Have your THF colab or acomp the mages. Hopefully your THF has movement speed and knows how to kite too.

How does everyone else do the weapon cell order in SSR?
    Specifically the first two.
My group is SAM SAM MNK THF as far as melee DD goes, and the last two runs we have been dicked out of weapons until the HB room, which really makes the first floor slow. People in my group have been bothering me about giving the two weapons to SAM SAM instead on SAM THF, since it feels like we'll get dicked either way.

Basically my question is, should I give my starter chest weapons to THF/SAM or SAM/SAM? Is the number of 4 cell drop fomor going to change dramatically without a Thieves Knife?

you dont need TH until the HB room, and one of the 6 fomors drop 3 weapons. In every zone we do DD1 > DD2 > (DD3)> THF.

As for colloborator on SS boss its amazing. If you know when its gonna charm ( basically each 25% if you kill fast), accomplice the 2nd highest DD on hate list and flee, its very fun.

Considering you get 3 incus from the HB room I usually let the thf get his incus there (unless we are bathing in incus before). We usually have either a party setup 2dd thf brd rdm sch or 3dd brd rdm sch + thf and in SSR we normally let the dds get incus and then thf. Giving the thf his incus earlier doesnt change much with the amount of cells you get and you can predict what cells you get from HB room.

LAC is always messy the first few times you fight it but once you're more familiar its definately the easiest salvage boss in terms of its offensive capabilities, it will always be the slowest though because you are guarenteed to spend atleast 3 minutes every fight running away or being charmed.

It will charm every 25% or after a certain amount of time has passed, you always get a second or two warning because it will only turn to face the person with hate when its about to use brain jack. When you see it the melee without hate can start running, unless they are bound there is often enough time to get some distance to avoid more than 1 brain jack. The key to avoiding being jacked is learning how to manipulate its pathing around the teleporters, if you wait until its close enough before you turn the corner and start running again it will normally use a tp move which if it doesn't hit anyone will leave it stunned for a few seconds.

Mages are fine to do this also and it works on both sides of the main room, also running behind the pillars on the same side as the entrance can make LAC take some fairly extended routes trying to reach you.

Brainjack charm lasts 1 minute, same as frogs, but the brainjack phase can last longer and it is possible to end up being charmed twice in the same phase. The way you can test to see if its still in brainjack mode is when you run around the porters it should get close enough to use one of its 3 normal tp moves, if it doesn't then brainjack is most likely off (brainjack mode gives it regain or auto-tp).

Both tanks should be getting charmed assap and not kiting or else you will have too little time to do damage before the next charm.

For 3/4 zones I agree with you but because of the pain of lack of cells in Arrapago I do give the THF a chest weapon for TH in Arrapago Remnants

I'll typically give weapon cells to whoever will do the most damage with them, even in Arrapago. I've found it's more useful to kill 2-3 extra mobs on the first floor, instead of killing fewer mobs in the same amount of time with whatever miniscule TH% a thf knife will give.

If the melee setup is MNK MNK SAM THF, i'll give weapons to SAM > MNK MNK > THF. If it's MNK SAM SAM (or some other non-hand2hand DD) THF, it'll be SAM > SAM > MNK > THF.

if I have MNK MNK SAM, I usually do main MNK > SAM > MNK > THF, although it depends on the zone. In Arrapago I do MNK > MNK > SAM as skeletons are weak to H2H damage.

BR SSR and ZR we give weapons SAM > MNK > THF or SAM > MNK > MNK > THF if we have over 6.

AR though we do SAM > THF > MNK just because floor 1 is so much more time consuming than in other zones and TH really does help (placebo ftw). Also we've had one of two runs were we never ended up with a 3rd weapon on floor 1 and just ported up anyway so it made sure we had TH3~ on first rat.

For pretty much every zone I go THF > MNK since those are my only DD's. Sometimes I have a WAR with me so it'll just change to WAR > THF > MNK. Gotta love my placebo TH+1.

When I do my pick up runs I usually do MNK > THF > MNK. I'm pretty sure that weaponless mnk and dagger thf can do more combined dmg than thf h2h and weapon'd mnk
