So, actually timed CC floor today, took right around 15 minutes, that was with a Thief fleeing and grabbing the train before it got away, killing it, killing chariot + 4 ramparts, killing CC and porting up. I dunno how you manage 8 minutes Neo, but we did pretty well on the floor...the only 2 spots I see for us to speed it up is maybe having the thief leave CC a little earlier, not killing any reinforcements that ramparts pop (do people actually leave them up/slept? We always killed em), and pulling the ramparts a bit quicker. No way all of that is more than ~2-3 minutes total though.

And it's not like we're slow or lacking in DD. The run was nothing special, but ya, our DD is still good enough we're clearing the whole zone with ~15minutes remaining at the end.

Skip train. And what was setup? Use 2 hours? And ya, rampart pets will add/subtract 30seconds to a minute.

I dislike skipping the train....pulling all that shit back to the start room, then having to potentially wait for the train later before moving up to CC doesn't seem like it saves much time vs the flee to pull the train.

We used bard 2 hr 2 times, once on train and once on ramparts (revit). Had Sam, 2xDrg, and a Mandau Thf (though sadly, the thief still sac pulls for ramparts and can't help much there).
See no reason to use Sam 2hr on that floor, feel it's much more beneficial to burn the chariot under 20% when it gets TP-happy (though obviously not needed, safety net is still nice). All pretty well geared, but yea, our 2hrs are less than impressive as a whole.

Considered keeping the rampart pets slept, but I see no benefit to it unless something went wrong with pulling on an earlier floor...for example today, we knew we'd easily finish in plenty of time, don't see a point to keeping a horde of mobs slept when you don't need to, much easier/safer to just kill 'em off.

But again, I don't see the 7 minutes shaved off. And I wish CC would drop something!
The purses were good at least, got like 13/14/19/18/98!

Never really have to wait for gear train to move out of way, it should be heading back south when ramparts are dead. And they are easy to sneak by if not.

How long does it take you to kill the gear train? Also, 2 brd SVs and 3 melee 2 hours make a difference. And it isnt quite 7 min you'd be shaving off, we didnt get "exactly" 8 min, was 8 min and change. Add dia3/angon/3 melee 2 hours, blm manafont, and 2 SVs, while skipping gear train and see where that takes you. We never save 2 hours for boss since he is so easy.

edit: Also, bring some powder boots for your thf. If he is good, he can avoid dying and add feint/DD for ramparts.

Which time heading back south? You move up, pull the ramparts+chariot back...by the time you get there/etc, the gears are passing you about ~60 seconds later I believe? You kill them before the train gets there a 2nd time? Or after the 2nd pass?

As for saving 2hrs...sure, the boss is easy, but that's not a very convincing argument to use it on 4f...4f is kinda easy too, I see no reason to use 2hrs specifically on 4f (except for bard, which is better when you are fighting for ~5+ min straight).

Problem with using 2-hours on chariot (well, soulvoice anyway) is that you'll waste it by kiting. Besides, if you kill the ramparts fast enough, they won't spawn anything, which saves even more time, and 2-hours help towards this.

The train is at the northest room near where you warp in @ 5 min inside, and is in the second coffer room at 8 min. So if you want to kill CC and warp before 8 minutes, you need to run past it w/o aggroing it, pull CC and kill it. Following it means you start killing CC @ 9 minutes at the earliest.

Those times arent exactly accurate Pchan. However you are right that you will have to pass the gear train to get to CC in lower time. This isnt too complex though >.>. Also, you can have your thf pull CC back to you as your group is heading back. Thf can solo in corner for a bit, or pull it through the room, depending on where train is.

    And @ Failure:

2houring ramparts reduces time of pets, and often boss zergs means lost damage to kiting/charm. And the ramparts are usually dead by the time the gears reach the portal room, or the chest room right before the portal room. If they are dead when they are in the chest room, you can move through the corners to pass them.

I know its off topic from the 8 min to 15 min thing, but after 25 runs after this "Upped drop rate" i'm calling bullshit. Not one drop off any mob. neo what was your record on the turtle... i think we are getting close to breaking it.

    On topic:

My group normally has about 7 sometimes 8 people and 8 mins i think is possible. We pull all 5 mobs during the sack i two hour put up songs. Normally they have all but one rampart left when i troubador and nightingale up so my two hour last another good 5 mins ish. When timed right your party should hit middle with the gear train and pull the turtle, on brd i powder boots and head to the zone just in time to tele up after its killed.

When doing 3man rdm thf mnk, on the third floor when the rampart pops undead, does the rdm just bind/silence? I'm pretty sure sleep wouldn't wrk (dark based anyways)

Gravity/Bind/Silence. Yup. I don't know if it pops more than 1 dog, 1 skele and 1 ghost. I've never had it live long enough to do more.

Yay for 200k wipe. Was rdy to port up to 4th floor just didn't clear enough gears before going for rampart. Got the rampart killed and the gears got us before port up was able to get to a safe spot to die, but undead took longer than the 3 mins we had to go out of blood aggro range. Oh well, figured some shit like that would happen.

Ok, frapsed our run... like 90 gig file, and for some reason it recorded them in a bunch of 5 gig files. Need to compress and consolidate them. However, I will be recording another run as our strat video, as this run was a bit hmmm..

Had several people out for finals so we brought 2 people that had never done salvage before for 7 total.. First floor went ok, just slow killing without much damage and one brd. 2nd floor was fine, just a bit slow. 3rd floor our puller died, then thf DC, then DC again.. 4th floor I had to walk the theif through how to do sack, then pullers were slow, so he died anyways lol.

But still cleared it all, so people can see basics. Actually got hammerblow and gyro3 to put out, so maybe being really slow and shitty makes things drop..

First ares legs weve ever seen. Was the last piece that still eluded us.
