We have 7 to 8 depending on the night and hit every NM. 3rd floor QQTH we are trying to speed up, but I dont see how they are clearing all those first floor rooms + 1st floor rampart + all machinery with just 7 people. Skipping the QQA doesnt seem that it would save much time. He dies pretty quick. The first 2 times they popped it they had 9.
Regardless, did they say that all the pops were at the 10 minute mark or is that no longer a theory? Also did they say they always pop after the treant(s) are killed?
i'm surprised more people aren't trying to reproduce their run tbh. I wanted to try last night but we only had 6 and only planned to the chariot since our normal people weren't on for salvage last night.
7 seems pretty hard to replicate their first run. When we were slightly short on our attempt, we had:Originally Posted by divisortheory

A good 9 people, but we still lost a few min on each floor, mostly 1st and 5th. I'd have rathered a WAR, but we have none with Ridills and our setup wasn't able to include WAR that run. Fortunately, the NIN is almost done leveling WAR so that'll be nice. The DRK could be something better, but he's not much of an XPer.
What I really want to do is bring another MNK/NIN along instead of say, the DRK or something. It also doesn't help when Abilities don't drop at all in the top NW wing and only 1 drops from chest.
Skip the NW then, and go SW > SE > NEOriginally Posted by Wizerd
SW sucks, ice spikes and triple attack + evasion boost are yuck.
Erm, you can't "replicate" a run by skipping parts of their run lol.Originally Posted by divisortheory

We took 43mins on Floor#1 and I think that's what made us all lose by timingout, do we have to kill all qutrubs![]()
Didn't they spend 40+ minutes on 1F also? If you have 2 full parties you can split up and have one group start out SE and another group start out NWOriginally Posted by Jhun
Would it be the same if we just kil the Lamiae untill the rampart pops? or kill both Lamiae+Qutrubs?Originally Posted by divisortheory
Killing Qutrubs made us lose time, we usually kill like 4-6 untill we get a couple of weapons for the SAM and one of the RNGs.

It's best to just try to do what they did. Tell all your melees to eat Red Curry instead of Sis Kebabi, that would save you some time.
a sanction curry prob can do 2 salvage back to back haha
how do people usually approach F3 QQTH? last night we went north path, killed the first few rooms, had a RDM sneak/invis and pull with nuke/bio2, sneak/invis again, run back to start, and ES+grav for the rest of the melees to kill. it worked okay but i'm wondering if there's a faster way. would going south and killing flayers and killing the QQTH where it spawns be faster? we might try this but we're scared it's gonna take an extra 20 minutes to kill them all.![]()
my group's trying for only macha's coats so we're trying for the last 2 QQTHs hoping that killing all ramparts and their reinforcements is what unlocks them. need to find a way to conserve the most time after killing rampart/sabotender on the first floor.
Next time we do this I'm going to try leaving 1 WHM in the middle somewhere for Dia and killing it where it spawns. Was thinking about have everyone build TP beforehand, then however many BLM we have open with timed Burst IIs, then RDM/BLM hit ES+Gravity and melees all unload WS. If it's not dead yet everyone disengage, RNG Shadowbind, then have the mages hit Freeze II.Originally Posted by jerkbox

We're like 0/50 on Macha's Coat, finally today the one guy who is 2/3 doesn't show up and it drops. The ironic thing, the person who got it has only been with our shell about 3 weeks. In his previous shell, he was 1/1 on the coat. This makes him 2/2, lol.
Send him to my group, we need a Macha good luck charm.Originally Posted by divisortheory

It was terrible.. the 3F was a mess, the melee didn't stop fighting when we pulled the QQTH and the QQTH decided to turn on the BLMs early and killed both of us in like 15s. The 3F QQTH took like 4 deaths and almost 35 min to kill because of all the mistakes (melee got blood aggro from skeletons... was truely a spectacle) and then BOOM Macha's Coat. I think I'm gonna go with wafik's theory on this one since all our really good preformances yielded jack squat.
I just love this zone lol. Still can't get Macha's to drop period, through 47 runs I haven't seen it drop yet but boy Ares sure does love to fall [ 11 now for LS ].

A level 29 PLD gets the drop, SE needs to rot in hell for making this so damn common and macha's so damn rare =(
