I'm curious what people think of NWN2. I just got it today, and am having problems, first I get some cd authentication problem that prevents me from even loading it, i checked the cdkey.ini and it's correct, and if I somehow get to load it i get a problem saying that it can't find a compatible direct 3D or something, so i run dxdiag and check out my directx and my direct 3D and everything seems to be fine. My system requirements are at or above all of the recommended ones, and I haven't been able to find anything from Atari itself, which seems to fail when it comes to customer service and technical support.

So i'm subscribing to the place where I know the most tech savvy people are. I only spent 30 bucks on the game, but I really liked the first one and wanna be able to play this.

NWN2 will give you that authentication error if it detects anything even remotely related to CD emulation running on your computer. This includes more overt stuff like Anti Blaxx and less offensive things like Daemon Tools. If you have these types of programs be sure to turn them off before starting it.

I have nothing running when i try to launch it, i don't have any wierd stuff like that. I have stuff like microsoft office, a few media players, itunes + music, like 3 or 4 games like warcraft III and diablo II and civ III and a few emulators. Other than that there's nothing on my PC, i keep it relatively clean.

Turn off itunes and any media player... in fact turn off everything except virus protection and the game and if that doesnt work turn off virus protection!

When all else fails...make sure your disc and drive are clean. That's what tripped me up.

Now I'm just trying to figure out why it's running so damned slow.
