    Console/handheld Mods

I've been on a kick of modding, flashing, or otherwise getting consoles and handhelds to play homebrews. In the past 6 months, I have softmodded my fat PS2, flashed my PSP, and bought a flashcart for the DS.

I'd like to welcome my Wii to the homebrew family.

I have a guy I can highly recommend if you want your Wii modded. I drove up to Austin this weekend, met him, and he installed a Wiikey in about an hour. Everything was professional and the install + chip was only 80 dollars. 40 for the Chip and 40 for the install. I didn't mind paying the extra 5-10 for the chip because shipping probably would have cost that much. The 40 for the install is about standard for any soldering jobs. I have no idea how to do the soldering, but I really want to learn.

Anyway, what are some other experiences you guys have with modders or modding systems yourself?

I'm looking into getting custom cases next.

What does the "Wiikey" do? Allow you to play burned games? Or what?

Have you found a place to acquire these Wii/GC backups?

If so, are they DVD size files?

Blackcats and ISOHunt are your friends

And all the Wii ISOs are 4.14~gig rar'd...and 4.37 gig unpacked.

I believe Gamecube ISOs are like 1.8 gigs unpacked.

Any DVD burner can burn them, only certain drives can rip games, and need high quality DVD media for the games.

DVD Drives that can read/rip gamecube/wii games:

    Re: Console/handheld Mods

I softmodded my xbox 1, installed Xbox Media Center, which allows me to stream pictures, video and music through the network to my main tv/amp.

It also allows me to play emulated games of N64, and several older consoles, including PS1.
