I got a ticket for rolling through a stop sign while turning right. I deserved the ticket.. But it was fucking $385. FUCK ORANGE COUNTY ! Not everyone who lives there is rich! Like me!

I ran one, going like 50mph, did NOT see it, I swore it was hidden by a tree or something, the cop made me get out and do some sobriety testing, he thought since it was 2 a.m. I just got out of the bar, too bad I was 17.
I went the next day there wasn't anything covering the sign, but I bet the cop went and cleared it out, since if it was obstructed I would have a case.

Okay good news, with an ironic twist.

I just got off the phone with my mother, Her friend's dad works for our insurance company. They are covering everything, my insurance will not go up, I dont have to worry about him suing me, only thing is they are not giving me any money for my car. I have to pay it by myself. I feel really bad for this guy, I mean I hope I (Read: Himself) didnt cause any injury. Im glad hes not dead, to say the least. From my understanding, I actually dont have to go to court for this at all. My ticket states this is a Civil Infraction, only time I would need to go to court is if it were involved in reckless driving (IE: just jumping into his lane and hitting him, which was clearly not the case.) I am going to get a camera if I can tomorrow to get this pictured so you may have pictures later, also I talked to another body shop who quoted me 700$ to fix the entire right side of my car. My god what a pain in the ass this is. Needless to say this ruined my day.

And for all those who asked; I live in Novi, Michigan.

Sometimes I wonder if cops in Iowa care. They don't use turn signals while turning and tend to turn on their lights and turn left on red lights... They're hilarious. The first time I got pulled over I was doing ~42 in a 35 on my way to school, and the cop pulled me over because I didn't have plates for my beat-up car yet, and he didn't see the paper ones. He didn't even comment about the speeding.

Anyway, it's good to hear you're not getting slapped with a bunch of fines/bills. Even though you were in his lane a bit, you were stopped...and he was on a motorcycle. How hard is it to move to the right a foot when your vehicle is 3ft wide?

Its hard when they're coming on your 9' and its pitch black, normally you can tell certain cars by their headlights, but I didn't think I had any reason to stop, lol,

As per the biker being at fault, doubtful. Not calling you a liar here, but I know last time I was in an accident my sense of time was way out of whack. What I thought was a minute was only like 20 seconds. So while you think you were stopped for 30 seconds it may not have actually been that long.

If it was indeed 30 seconds than he is a moron, I know when I am out on my bike I keep constant attention on the road because I know the vehicles in front of me aren't paying attention to me.

Some insurances offer accident forgiveness as well. State Farm in NY does, I got in an accident that fell under "No Fault" and my rates didn't go up at all.

I'm guessing my connections but it could be from my plan. When I called them they almost came right out and said "You're fucked." When my mother called it worked out I guess. I have no idea what was said, but she told me I don't have to pay anything extra(No deductible, No raise in insurance, no court fees, nada.) but I would have to pay for the car fixes by myself.

I don't have to go to court for this but I think I may, the 2 points on my licenses is kinda annoying. I think they gave me the ticket and said it was my fault because I had crossed the line and stopped, which is true, I guess. But I was stopped for a VERY long while.

Alot of stress is off my sholders and I think I may have found someone to do the car repairs for 400$ (Gotta pay in cash, you know how that works.) We will see what happens.
