I spoke to a person who has heavily used FFXI App, and he claimed that it had something to do with the way the bot works. Apparently when the bot targets a mob, it doesn't actually use "<t>" like its supposed to, which throws up a red flag for botting.Originally Posted by RKenshin

http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/715/ani079eu9.gifAfter the Mar. 8, 2007 version update, Lock of Siren's Hair had been removed from the treasure dropped by the certain Notorious Monsters, but Novv the Whitehearted was not included in the list of monsters.

Catastrophe was modified, but it's still broken. The drain effect is now 10-50 HP drain. (It's supposed to average around 50% of my WS damage.) Also, although the damage appears to be normal again, I'm unable to test it normalli. Outside gustaberg with meat and using SA, I'm unable to reach a 3.0 pdif cap on my WS. I recieved the following WS numbers from 6 Catastrophes:
1198
1233
1207
1230
1266
1273
I've been able to reach the 3.0 cap many times before to accurately test the secondary modifiers. I was even able to test this after the last patch broke it. (The WS was reduced to 1.0 fTP modifier. 1.1 with Shadow Gorget.) My INT was 70, my AGI was 66. I should be getting 1369. =/.
I feel ya there! I'm still holding out hope the Quicksilver(and the other Nyzul isle weapons for that matter) has a sweet hidden effect or some kind of upgrade that's going to rule. :/Originally Posted by Tomino
Just spoke a GM, they are aware of the issue now. It looks like there will be another maint shortly to correct the issue.

Anyone seen any strange mob behaviour like this after today's maintenance?

He really didn't do anything to it and it just aggro'd him, I'm sure I saw the same thing happen to other Linkshells in the zone a couple of times as well. I've also heard things about linking mobs freezing/having strange hate/warping around and things not aggroing when they should. Perhaps SE messed up mob AI somehow?
Darters occasionally bug out when the zone is overfull. I remember them "aggroing" a sitting white mage one time.
Might be after todays patch or the initial one earlier this week, but it seems they ninja modified the animation that makes PCs heads track targets. Before, they'd cant in an odd way to look to the side, and now they just twist straight... or at least this seems to be the case on my mithra.
Yup Cata still not fixed, I think they owe us a STR modifier for these couple weeks of pure suckage.
The drain portion of catastrophe was ninja fixed. I'll try testing the damage/mods later to see if thats back to normal too. I'm suprised they were able to do this without maint.
try it on rabbit you will still drain 1-10% kirschy , its like you cant drain more than the mob have , since lv1 mob have 40 hp , you drain 40hp, on bigger mob drain is ok
But the fTP is still weaker than before ...
Oh that would make sense... I'm at Aspi camp and the drains were normal... I didn't think about the drains being limited to the HP of the mob. Hrm :/
I'm mithra as well, and I did notice that, too. I think before the whole body would move toward the target slightly and the head would move all the way to the target. Now it seems like the head does most of the movement and the body only moves marginally. I thought it was just me, but I did notice my mithra looked different.Originally Posted by Cadsuane
