Laugh or cry...I'm still not sure which.
Thats actually a very sweet gesture, I wish more people would do these little things for their parents.
can't watch the article at the moment, could anyone fill in a brief summary? >.> tyvm
Guy took his mom to prom. I going with pretty lame.
Agreed, Lame
More like, the guy did his mom a favour because she missed her own prom, sounds like selflessness to me.
Still lame.Originally Posted by Kuya

A very nice thing to do for his Mom, kudos to him.
plus he's leaving for the air force.
either way, i think it'd be kinda weird to be freakin' with your mom... <.<;;
but still...pretty nice guy o.O..
Yea, I can see the selflessness in it, however you think the mom would have wanted her son to not be the butt of jokes from that class, or maybe to have a normal Prom. The offer and idea, while they seem nice, just end up creepy and leave a bad 70's sit-com taste in your mouth.
i thought you couldnt take people over 21 to prom regardless? at least thats the rule where i went...
It's going to be a weird moment around his Air Force buddies reminiscing about prom and someone asks him if he got any at his.
What will his first words be? I went with my mom.
DUDE
Yea, now that you say that...you think he'd be more worried about what his buddies in the Air Force would think...man you'd never hear the end...
She let them watch?Article: "Just to have this experience with my son and having my daughters and my other son watch, this memory will last forever," Dawn Langenfield said, choking back tears.![]()
It's less weird because the dude wanted his mum to attend a prom since she never got the chance. It'd be weirder if the guy didn't have any dates, hence, taking the mum. Two different things. Nyways, nice gesture.
Well, when I graduated HS 2yrs ago, we had a few people go to Sr Prom as large groups of friends. Sure people went with their dates, but if people didn't have one lots of people went jsut to have fun with their friends. Even though I went with my girlfriend, I don't see going without a date less strange then taking your mom. =/
On the one hand, I've got to give it to the guy. It WAS a really selfless thing to do, giving his mom a chance at going to prom. And it was a nice and sweet gesture.
On the other hand, it was his mom. I guess if he can take jokes about it, that's fine. I'm actually kind of surprised his mom didn't tell him to take someone else, though.
I still think it's really weird, but nice weird.
That's not lame at all. Anyone who thinks so probably went to a D&D game instead of their prom or hired a hooker as a date. It's a pretty nice thing to do for his mom. I mean he's going into the military, who knows if he even comes out and at least he left her with a huge memory.

I never went to my prom, but now I wish I hired a hooker.
