ehh, strange dates for proms are a bit more common then people think. At my junior prom, one of the girls brought the mascot for the San Jose Sharks as her date (yes he was in full costume).

I think it was sweet and VERY ballsy, and yes, very lame. But the sweetness of it outweighs the lameness. If he's taken his Mom just to take his Mom, it'd be weird and lame, but since he did it because she missed her own prom, it's sweet.

I think its kinda of cute and ballsy. His mom missed her prom and hes going to the airforce so she will remember that and what he did for her if the worst happens while hes in training/fighting the war. I guess I'm a softy though.
