Anyone who thinks the kid is lame is really shallow. His mom missed her prom and he's leaving for the airforce. If he took a normal girl he might get laid. 1 week later it won't matter, he won't talk to her ever again, they're not going to meet and do it again, that'll be the end of it.

1) Having sex isn't that big of a deal. Yes it's nice once it happens but it's not the most fucking important thing in the world.
2) His mom will have that memory for as long as she lives, far outweighing the one night of pleasure the guy may have had.

People these days aren't thankful enough to their parents. Your mom brings you into the world and gives you life, without her you wouldn't even be alive. So the kid won't get laid on prom night, big fucking deal. Is he not "manly" enough now? If I was put into his position I wouldn't do the same thing, I don't have the fucking balls, but god damn do I admire him. He's joining the Air Force guys.... do you know what enlisted Air Force people do? They sit on a US base and repair planes, or are air traffic controllers. He's not exactly Tom Cruise in the danger zone here. There worse that could happen is he loses his hand in a mechanics mishap, then he won't be able to fap to his prom memories nightly.
