I dare people to try trading Ja Ja's chestplate/Gurfurlur's helmet/Medusa's armlet. (I forgot if they even desynth into anything worthwhile.)

pretty sure the helmet can become a scintillant ingot, but I haven't actually seen this desynth myself (like anyone kills these? haha) I'd assume the chestplate and armlet are similar ToAU high level synthesis items.

It'd be an interesting test, that's for sure. (I doubt it's a different result though? might be worth dat diving to see whether the text of the quest supports any special branches at this step.)

wouldn't surprise me to hear the armlet does. but again, I haven't witnessed any desynths of these yet.
