If you just drop your earring and redo the fight you'll be like me...with no DM earring. The quote above is completely wrong. SE added a new DM quest that's flaggable if you've completed the first one and no longer have your earring.

You need to:
1) Drop your earring.
2) Flag the quest at the " " in the main entrance of Ru'Auvitau Shrine.
3) Get a Light Ore (Illumiink and Parchment for a Ark Pentasphere is probably a good idea too).
4) Wait until a Full Moon and go to the spring in Ro'Maeve and trade the Light Ore, and get a Ark Pentasphere if needed.
5) Redo the Divine Might BCNM fight.
6) Return to the " " in Ru'Auvitau Shrine to pick up your new precious.
