Re: SL Perdu Weapons, 6/12 update findings

Difference between Perdu Voulge and M Bhuj isn't that big for 100tp. Modifiers for 100tp SC and 200tp SC are only slighty different, 0.25 isn't that much. It's 300tp when SC is all bout. And according to wiki's WS calculations - the harder mob is, the better voulge would be.
From practical point of view, you're not using Steel Cyclone when you hit 200tp, but either 100tp or 300tp. I mean, when I'm fighting f.e. sky gods, I'm using Steel Cyclone 300tp with Byakko's Axe, switching to M Bhuj after that and use 100tp SCes till the end. But 100tp SC from M Bhuj and Byakko's Axe doesn't have that big dmg difference (for real it's a matter of 200tp SC from 88 dmg GA vs. 100tp SC from 95 dmg and +5 att GA). With a little boost of att and base dmg, M Bhuj might be outdmged when you're using 100tp SCes. That's why Bravura is better, base dmg is high enough to outparse 100tp SC from M Bhuj (although I doubt it will outparse 200tp SC from M Bhuj).

I will definetely take it. Although I'm disappointed by this 10 att only, I hope for at least 15

Why don't you just use Axes, problem solved.

Re: SL Perdu Weapons, 6/12 update findings

Steel Cyclone's fTP rises very slowly from 100 to 200, but Martial Bhuj SC at 100% is still significantly stronger than 100% SC using any other Great Axe including Bravura, base damage is nice but TP Bonus is nicer, when it comes to direct WS damage comparison on a fTP damage based WS, TP Bonus pretty much always wins, against any weapon.

Combine DoT and WS damage and this can change of course, but as far as WS vs WS, TP Bonus wins hands down.

I am not a melee specialist, but it seems like these perdu weapons might not be as great as they are being hyped up to be... and wtf @48k IS... That's kind of steep imo.

Re: SL Perdu Weapons, 6/12 update findings

Pretty much you have right, yet, with mob high enough VIT M Bhuj becomes weaker and weaker in 100tp <=> 200tp relation.

I did some calculation some time ago, to check on which circumstances M Bhuj would be outdmg in 100tp SC. I am not sure if they are right or wrong. They doesn't include att/def relationship, but since att/def relationship doesn't benefit M Bhuj it's not that important.

Sorry, that I put Excel sheet, but I'm at work and have no time to convert it >.>

Re: SL Perdu Weapons, 6/12 update findings

For variable damage fTP WS, TP Bonus will win (again, just talking about the WS vs WS dmg) regardless of fSTR being high or low, from 100% to a point generally around 250%. This exact point varies with weapon, WS and other factors.

That's actually one of the big flaws of relic weapons, the relic WS themselves have a static high fTP but you're not always going to always use that WS and in fact for most weapons the relic WS isn't the strongest in a whole lot of situations due to low hit count or poor modifiers (not just WSC). Cheap weapons (even the most expensive TP bonus is ridiculously cheap compared to relic) shouldn't be able to outdamage relics on any WS at any amount of TP.

Why the hell are you people using great axe? The only claim to being great it has is in its name.

Well I use Gaxe for situation u want to cut the TP feed to a monster , where Gaxe would have a very high dmg per hit , and a very powerful WS ( steelcyclone) .

In a world where you can only use one axe, why not make it freaking huge

That's the single only reason I can think of: SJ restriction or if you're doing WAR/THF for some reason

there are few reasons that u wont use /nin , lets take LBC for example . I would stay back and get TP off /sam and sleep potion and do a 100% steel cyclone and set back again. ( at least its better then setting and watching from the back )

Re: SL Perdu Weapons, 6/12 update findings

Eh, personally I never really enjoyed /Nin and Dual Wield animations on War, I leveled the job because I saw a war/thf kicking ass out in Altepa and thought "man, that looks cool as hell." Started doing it, and enjoyed it, then went through 20 levels of War/Nin Spampage only, nearly quit the job entirely. Then I got Steel Cyclone and an Mbhuj and remembered Fun > a few points of ePeen on a parser.

Naturally this train of thought will get "omg u noob wtf is wrong with you, war/nin dual wield is the best for everything including brushing your teeth, gtfo of here with that" so I finally just dropped War entirely, too much drama.

Oh, another thing where Great Axe rules, Wivre type mobs, did the Lancelord fight recently, had COMPLETELY random gear for my non R/E slots/stuff I can't use from Mnk/Nin/Sam I threw together for my War, Byakko's (sold the Bhuj a while back), a borrowed SH for gods sake, etc. There was a War/Nin with Haidate, Dusk, Wood/Man, Hauberk, etc.

I only hit for 0 once or twice, he wasted quite a bit of damage output though, and the Nin too, which was interesting.

    Course, doesn't mean X > X or anything.

Because WAR/SAM + Fortitude Axe = Fun had by all! And by "all" I mean just the WAR, and by just the WAR I mean as long as they don't die.

Oh god yes, Amood during moonphase+Fortitude off moon phase and a 6 hit build=omglol.

Plus, Raging Rush doesn't suck as much when it's basically a 4-6 hit WS full time, fancy that!

Yeah....one of our WARs went WAR/DRG with great axe to merit on Trolls. He thought it was really awesome, but with only a RDM to cure...well, it wasn't so awesome for the rest of us. A lot of DDs, even (and sometimes especially) those who do good damage, seem to enjoy getting the crap beat out of them as well. I like laughing at the mob from behind shadows, but maybe I'm the weird one.

Fudo is now 7-8k on the AH on Kujata; it NPCs for about the same. I can't honestly believe that so many people are SL, but there it is.

War/Nin=Easy/God Mode, done right it is awesomesauce, done wrong, it's basically impossible to screw up completely.

War/Sam=Tries to be best of both worlds, Shadows when you need...usually, bad ass DD abilities+Tp gain when you don't.

War/Drg=Racing to death with the mob. Get a good healer who actually enjoys keeping your dumb ass alive, and it's truly a sight to behold. Get a pickup and well... RR items aren't cheap, and they will get sick of raising you.

War/Thf=Limited use onry, nice for the ePeen shots (Hi2u 3056 SA Steel Cyclone+1506 Distortion messing around in sea, VT Hpemde 95% > 0%= hilarity) but the TPing speed kills my soul... my very soul.

Um... I dunno bout /drg but /sam is a total HAVOC. Hate stealer, 1st dying etc etc... I have to stand backwards on Faf for like 50% of the time...

Re: SL Perdu Weapons, 6/12 update findings

War/Sam on HNM isn't that good, too many hate spike abilities (Hasso+Seigan+Third Eye+Meditate+all the war gamut+however much Enm gear you have on you, toss it in the long lived memory that most HNM's have for hate and you= dead) go war/thf to live or war/drg if you wanna toss out stupid damage and die fast.

War/Drg is -3 or 4 Str, -5% haste (full time and at the cost of an earring slot, versus hasso/seigan swapping), 0 Defense, and two forced attack rounds which can proc Doubles and Crits.

You can War/Drg Ridill/Shield too for funny glitching.
