Went on the North path.
You're both facing away. MP recovery? Just letting DoT kill it at low HP?
Discoid floored both our RDMs, we held it till they unweakened.

for bosses you can either use mnk+nin or 2xmnk for tanking and DD , this should end the fight withen 10-12min espically with 2 MNK 2hrs saved up for last 20% . If your using BLMs with low numbers , it will take about 20min and above. So you should practice killing boss withen 10min so you can have alot of time to farm other stuff in that area.
Mainly salvage is built on the communication skill between the players , small things do matter , like how u need to send someone to teleport while others are killing , saving TP for some NMs , knowing who should get which cells without saying it .
so mainly if u want to have a successful salvage team , first try to beat LBC withen 10-12min mark since he is the hardest of all ( relative) , then start to find ways on how to cutdown time on floors. After that , start farming other stuff on the way to bosses e.g QQTH/A ,Mad bomber , gears cards etc..
was it just me, or the 6F chariot is like 100x harder than the other chariots in other zones
we attempted our first boss run the other week, managed to kill all the triple gears, but still had the single gears + chariot... decided to pull chariot, but he took forever to go down, and mages were all out of mp
with what ive read, sounds like the boss is easier than this guy -_-
What was hard about 6f chariot? He's a billion times easier than the boss due to no special move, and a max of 20k HP.Originally Posted by safer
Did you mnk tank it? Was it debuffed ? etc.
we had 2 nin and a monk on it... tp moves werent really a problem, but it just seemed to take less damage than other chariots, or that it had much higher hp than the others...
but looking back at it now i think just a bunch of things went wrong that added up to make it harder than it should have been... we didnt have a bard, and the rdm died 2x cause standing in aoe range... tanks prolly coulda done a better job too
I agree 6F zhayolm chariot takes a lot more time to kill than other non-boss chariots in other zones, I don't know if that's due to higher HP more more DEF or what. What ended up making it easier--and really all of floor 6 a lot faster--was fully gearing up 2 mnks on 2nd floor. Having your only damage come from 2 fully geared MNKs is faster and better controlled than twice as many DDs who are all naked. Just budget a little more time for the 6F chariot than you would for a different one and you'll be fine. I say 2 MNKs cause this was pre-patch when we brought 2 MNKs to every run anyhow, but I'd imagine two fully-geared ___s probably works fine whatever, as long as they're jobs you could have tanking the boss on the next floor as well.
In 10 minutes we got that chariot from 100% to like 40% before we timed out. We were rushing it though from the getgo, BRD was dead and couldn't sing, and a few mages didn't have MP unlocks. Also gear was a little too spread around and should have been focused on the MNKs. Will have to fix that next time.
My shell is going to try LAC today with a small 6 man group. 2 MNKs as standard, with mages backing them up (1 BLM, 1 RDM, 1 WHM, unknown job for 6th need advice).
I've experienced Brainjack before and I know to switch weapons out but I'm afraid that in such a small group the effect will be far greater than in a larger group where you can have people take over for a bit. We so far have had no luck beating any bosses so far however all the runs with this particular group were small and against LBC.
6th = Bard, or you're going to be giving up Ballad1/2 (+1 to each with fife), March x 2, and doing salvage without a bard kinda sucks anyway <_< find a bard friend, suck his cock, give him marduk, because they change boss fights around.Originally Posted by Hapernack
We used Dia2, and the obvious RDM debuffs like Slow2/Para2/Blind, brd debuff of elegy, then add poison/requiem for more juicy DoT! Once you're used to it this will be a sub 5 min kill like it is for us, we did gear up our monk and warrior up though, they were priority on all armor, sorted stats/mp/hp cells yatta yatta. Basically if you can kill bosses with ease, this one shouldn't be a big problem. RDM should scoot from AOE range that's for sure ;pwe had 2 nin and a monk on it... tp moves werent really a problem, but it just seemed to take less damage than other chariots, or that it had much higher hp than the others...

2 nin and a mnk seems like too much imo, we limit chariots to 2 melee, especially with a tiny group.
Went there with 7 (War/mnk/blu/rdm/smn/brd/blm) set up wasnt that good, but it's the best I could do with what avaible.
First floor: Farmed the inner room, and a few more magics since it was the only thing we lacked.
Second floor: Got 0 body in first wyvern room, pulled 4 more mobs and got nothing beside 2earring cells
Third floor: nothing nothing. hp hp hp, nothing. Didnt see any mp till halfway in the big room at the bottom of the map.
Fourth floor: Went up asap
Fifth floor: killed 3 gears and went up
Six floor: Timed up on chariot at 10% (could have killed it, but I died trying to speed thing up to reach the mega)
Was my first time in months trying this area, but how people are farming cell usually? I know we could
speed thing up a little here and there, but we were still naked (almost) by the end of the run. Did we just get unlucky on mp cell? We were rotting hp by the time we got our first mp. And for armor, wouldnt it be faster to pull 4th floor frog instead of wyvern/lizard?
4th floor frogs have TERRIBLE drop rate. Maybe it's changed since the update, but you used to clear every mob in the room and get maybe 1-3 cells. The big problem with second floor cell farming is you usually just get a ton of the same thing in each room. Once you clear the first room to unlock the rest, don't spend a ton of time in the other rooms. If you have 4 melees and 2 mages you could even split up at this point and kill 2 mobs each from 2 different rooms, just to get more variety faster.Originally Posted by Kaylia
Is frog drop rate that bad? I'm probably wrong since last time I did zhayolm was 6 months ago, but I remember getting a ton of cell on them in south room. I guess splitting would work, and take a lizard path first to avoid wyvern.
Does Ninja do particularily low dmg to Chariot mobs? (mega and normal)
Was looking at ninja tank (possibly without katanas on Mega boss to avoid any TP gain from him) with 2 DDs on the sides (MNK + WAR).
for shear TP gain, that should keep it in check? Only a bit more healing due to +1 body.
The only reason you dont go for 2 tank + 2 DD, is because you will have to not only gear up the 2 DD, but gear up 2 tanks, and on top of that not heal 2 people, but heal 4. If you have the cells and the numbers, go for it, but in low man salvage (which this topic is about) it's not too great, you need as many multitask people as you can get.Originally Posted by Tulun

The idea wasn't 2 tanks, just 1 nin tank with possible add DD (3 total at most). Does Ninja have the ability to DD decently on these mobs?
You can just double ninja the chariots, sometimes when our 2nd mnk can't come online, we do 1 MNK 1 WAR, or 1 MNK 1 NIN on the bosses.Originally Posted by Tulun
