The worst concert in history coming to my town...

...and my fiancee wants to go.

    Buckcherry
    Hinder
    Papa Roach.

I honestly think that I'd rather go to Disney on Ice or something lol. Hinder and Buckcherry are EASILY the absolute worst mainstream bands, and, holyshit, together on stage on one special night.

    Sorta on topic:

Best concert I've ever been to. Tool or Aerosmith. Kind of a toss-up. I went to the tool concert like 5 years ago. I had no idea who they were and I had never heard any of their music. The concert blew me away.

Worst concert I've ever been to: Ludacris. Took 4+ hours before he came on stage. Stayed on stage for about 20 minutes, did like 4 songs. Had to listen to local rap artists that weren't worth a shit for the first 3 hours.

Most underrated concert: Chevelle. Great band, great show. Nothing over the top or flashy. Just great music.

Band/artist I'd absolutely kill to see: Active band: Rascal Flatts. Lolcountrymusic whatever, but I really enjoy their music. Past Band/artist: Garth Brooks. Again, I've heard his shows are nothing short of astounding. I'm from Kentucky, so my taste in music ranges from country to rap (newer rap sucks hard, like the 90's stuff).

Most underrated show I have ever been to was Collective Soul around 94 or so at a charity concert for the Oklahoma City Bombing survivors. Their CD really sucks but live they really kicked ass. That was also the most fun I ever had at a concert as it had 8 diverse bands including Tony Bennet and not many people on this planet can say they have moshed at Tony Bennet concert but I can

Re: The worst concert in history coming to my town...

    SUPPOSEDLY

A Cheap Trick concert is nothing short of amazing, their live shows are supposed to be really good, or so I've heard.

Anyways as far as personal stories:
Best concert: Was Lamb of God and Gojira, they played in a venue that fit maybe 450 people and there had to be at least 800 there. Mosh started up and I was younger at the time, it took me a second to actually realize that a mosh pit had started. Was awesome.

Worst concert: Gigantour, ALL the fucking guitar was turned up waaaaaaaay too much, the next day I kept hearing a buzzing noise and I thought i was gonna go deaf. I loved all the bands there, just the quality of sound was disturbing.

Best concert i've been too was by far Metallica with Jerry Cantrell and Days of the New. Jerry Cantrell really stole that show. Really not a worst concert per say, but the emergency fill in opening act when I went to see Faith No More blew major ass.

Worst concert ever was Metallica by far, I was horrified. Their opening act was Godsmack which sucked just as hard. Metallica sucked balls because they will only play their new stuff, which is like a punk wannabe shithole on stage. Never again will I go to one of their concerts.

Cheaptrick opened for Aerosmith when I went to that concert. It was a very very good show, but they weren't the closing band, so Cheap Trick may have been toned down. Like I said though, that was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. They even busted out that huge guitar. That was wild lol.

Best Live show I saw was

Tsunami Bomb followed by Strike Anywhere then Anti - Flag and Bouncing Souls closed it. I think I came in my pants several times at the show.

    Good shows I've been to...

Stabbing Westward, A Perfect Circle (Maynard is amazing live), Prick, Meat Beat Manifesto, NIN, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, Placebo

Worst show...Solution AD...I don't know who the fuck they were but we boo'd them off stage. There's other weird shit I've seen but I guess they sucked enough that I don't remember them. I usually will only go to shows where I know the band is good anyway.

Good to hear that Collective Soul is good live. Counting Crows, Live and Collective Soul are coming near me and August and I am going to grab tickets tomorrow. I figured the other 2 would be entertaining and wasn't sure about Collective Soul. Looking forward to this one now.

Best show: MeWithoutYou ... God I love how he recites his lyrics, not singing. It sounds like it would be tacky, but its done nicely.

Worst show: Switchblade Kittens. An all-girl band I sat through their set at warped tour a long time ago, waiting for a band I liked to play next. THEY WERE HORRIBLE.

Its interesting that you listed Armor for Sleep as a great band you saw, I was this close to listing them as the worst band I ever saw before I remembered one even worse.

I saw Armor opening for Further Seems Forever, and the lead singers voice kept cracking. Not in a way that lead me to believe he was sick, but that he had a weak voice.

1998 called and wants their crappy music back.

Tool is one of the best shows I have seen, once at Ozzfest and once with Mushugga.
Rush and Pearl Jam have been my absolute favorites (For PJ/Tom Petter my friend went down that morning and asked for tickets, and lol later, 3rd row and $50 each, everyone around us had paid +$100 for scalped)
Favorite to see now, Coheed and Cambria, unfortunately when they played with Avenged Sevenfold they split the show and I stopped liking Avenged since.
Favorites ever, Deftones, came to Minneapolis like once every 4 months for 4 years. After they went soft, I hadn't cared to see them. Once they played a double show, and went to both, they had so much energy before Chino got fat.

Edit: Worst concert ever was Puddle of Mudd opening for Godsmack. The only saving grace was the Jim Rose Circus in between shows.

Norma Jean sans vocals (@ the northstar bar)

Moe.down (probably 6 or 7 years ago, mostly due to soulive playing)

Other than that, no shows have really blown me away.

The best concert ive ever been to is System of a Down. So much energy and... A-FUCKING-MAZING! Forever a SOAD fan I will be.

Worst concert, toss up between alkaline trio and mars volta. Alkaline trio has no energy, i was falling asleep. They sucked monkey balls. The Mars Volta was boring and far from music... very annoying band to see live. Noise making... the widow... more noise making. When i say noise making, i dont mean "the music these kids listen to today... it's like noise to me"... no, not what i mean... I mean, strangle a vietnamese prostitute w/ a dying cat and call it music. They also suck monkey balls.

I never stood the fascination with The Mars Volta either.

Funny, when i saw them live, it was there load tour, and they played maybe half that album. rest was all the good stuff. I'm still pissed i wasn't able to get tickets to the concert they did with the SF symphony.
