The quest NM for the Bhaflau Thickets map...

If someone was to spawn the NM, defeat it, but not collect the key item by rechecking the "???" - how long would they have to wait to pop the NM once again, without obtaining the key item?

basically I have a RDM friend who never did the quest and is totally willing to help me whore it out for guard skill

Just have him log out? I think thats how it was done back when TAU came out.

iirc plague chigoe hits like a truck compared to other chigoes, and not much faster. Depending how high your guard skill is, use normal chigoes or the ones off marid. Can get it extremely close to cap off those and far faster than plague chigoe. (That is if your rdm friend has phalanx 2) i took parry from about 128 -> 240 (as thief) in roughly 10-12 hours total off chigoes...can get it to about 263 (lvl 74 cap, since i dont think marid chigoes go to 75 or higher, despite what wiki / somepage say)

I did this for a little while on my bst and had Wafik come help with phalanx II + Cures. I had my dualboxed account pop him, then logout. I would grab him, throw up defender and with phalanx II and some decent defense gear, I was taking 0-10 dmg per hit. Really great skillups before we got bored. Can pop it multiple times as long as you logout/zone the other character.

Bit of a bump, but some new info for this, and everyone loves skill up posts. I finally got around to trying to skill up parry on this about a week ago, and found that it's no higher than lvl67. I had 232 Parrying and messed with it for about 45 minutes, and got no skill ups and probably a couple hundred parrys.

But the good news is that in moderate defense gear, and a RDM with Phalanx II (lvl3), all regular hits from it did 0 damage. Crits would do something in the teens. So just a WHM casting Regen III on me, and a RDM casting Phalanx II was enough to keep me alive without any other assistance.

PLD/RDM with high enhancing magic skill can easily solo this for skill up.
Prebuff with Stoneskin, Blaze Spikes(if you can't kill it before it kills you without some extra damage) and Phalanx II, pop it, engage... then go AFK.
