The only part of the series I'm unhappy with is that he killed off like 4 of my favourite characters within 3 chapters of each other. It really adds to the suspense though, no one is untouchable, he can pretty much just off anyone he wants.

just finished American Psycho. yesterday I picked up Animal Farm (yeah somehow i never read it, and never had an english class that taught it, in high school, or college) and A Clockwork Orange. planning to also read Less Than Zero and Fear And Loathing in Las Vegas (again), beyond that looking for good recomendations to carry me through the summer.

DUDDDDDDDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I read the Wheel of Time. Rocked so hard until about book 8 where it got reallllllllllllllllllly slow. I have the latest but haven't read it because I'm afraid it will be boring and that I won't remember any of the characters.
The last book really picked it up. So much happened in that book, but there is still so much more. What depresses me the most about that series is how it's taking to come out with a new book.

I just finished reading Nightwatch and Daywatch by Sergei Lukyanenko and both were awesome. There's a few things I want to catch this summer, but nothing I can think of off the top of my head this morning.

Depends on my mood, if it's a good book about 4-8 hours nonstop, if its an "eh" book, depends on how often I gotta take a shit.

A realy good series is the dark tower from stephen king. One or two books arent as great as the others but overall these books will keep ya busy for a long time ;o
I started reading this series a week or so ago. The first book felt pretty slow paced, but it was definitely enjoyable, and served as a good hook for the series. Hoping to finish it before HP7, but the last few books look pretty massive in comparison to the first four.

I liked the Dark Tower series a lot. Even the ending was enjoyable. Also check out The Tasliman and Black House, two collaborations by King and Peter Straub. I think they add a little something extra to the series.

I really want to start the Dresden series.

I definitely reccomend the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. Some books (cough 4 cough) get a little slow, but overall it was one of the most memorable series I've ever read.

Also if ya don't feel like a series, SK's book, Eyes of the Dragon is one of my alltime favorite books. I wish there was a sequel, it's that good.

Book 1 was awesome. I was on book 10 when I stopped reading them. I am waiting for him to finish the series before I revisit it. When it takes 1-2 years between each book, I forget a lot of stuff so it will be best to just wait and do them all at once. Supposedly the next book is supposed to (finally) wrap up the main storylines.

As selfish as it sounds, I just hope he lives long enough to finish. (And I hope I live long enough too, for that matter.) :D

I actually started the Dark Tower series last month when I needed some reading material for a flight.

I agree with you about really hoping he lives to finish. Apparently he's had a bunch of medical issues in the last few years, and well, he's not really churning them out. I hope this is the final book in the series, but I just don't see how it could be...so much left unanswered.

Edit: Just checked the wiki entry, and book 12, A Memory of Light, is supposed to be released in early 2009. wtf...
2nd edit: It's definitely going to be the last book no matter what. Jordan said that, plus with his medical conditions, well..It may be a posthumous book.

Nobody mentioned the Bourne trilogy, those books are straight amazing, if you haven't read them you should read them.

As for me, I'll probably read alot of books on Jython because the Air Force loves us to use it for some reason when we software for them to use :/
