naked run thru ifrit on lvl 1 job. anyone who makes it to the headstone keeps their char. rest of the server gets to come out and watch on perma sneak-invis like that summerfest quest from years ago. every time they die, first one to their corpse gets to peel 1 piece of gear off and claim it for their own. when they run out of gear, start stripping their xp.

except that the same group of characters are also feeding the mule? not really no.

although there was a report of someone who 'inherited' a bank mule that was subsequently banned. (to SE it probably appeared to be a gil transaction including a mule).

Re: The Special Task Force report (06/15/2007)

RMT mules and legit mules (personal and LS bank) behave differently.

    For simplicity, A-D = feeders, M = mule, W-Z = receivers

    RMT mule
    A > M
    B > M
    C > M
    D > M
    M > W
    M > X
    M > Y
    M > Z
(repeat with different receivers each time, and all the same feeders making regular contributions)

    LS bank
    A > M
    M > W
    M > X
    M > Y
    M > Z
(repeat with the same receivers each time, and much fewer feeders)

    Personal mule
    A > M
    M > A
(regardless of how much gil you have, it's impossible to confuse a personal mule for an RMT mule. Anyone who says their mule with 5 billion gil got banned by mistake is not telling you what else their account may have been caught doing.)

The main difference, however, between LS bank and RMT mule is that RMT mules have the same people sending gil each time, whereas the mule distributes gil to someone different every time. When someone looks at the log, if they think for a moment that it might be an LS mule, they'll know they're wrong the moment they notice half the server must be in that LS.

If the people sending gil to the mule isn't the same every time, all they have to do is check who the feeders are and where the old feeders went, and find out that they were banned and the new feeders are new accounts... which is also something that doesn't happen with LS banks.

I know its a hard concept for some people to grasp, but having a ton of gil on a mule and sending it back and forth to people won't raise any red flags. A quick look at the logs should immediately allay any suspicions of RMT activity.

Only actual RMT mules have anything to worry about.

I do agree, the development updates have made the game much easier for many players. However, in response I feel the RMT population on valefor has nearly doubled and now simply taken a more agressive actions on any NM that drops anything of value. In sky for example, the main competition has just simply moved from ulli to despot. Despot is easier to claim for sure, but gillsellers just use sky gods now as there major source of income. It still very rare, to go to a HNM camp such as KB, roc, sim, Bune, KA, Cassie ect without there being 1-2 groups of gillsellers.

I think the changing to Pop NM's are indeed great, But I think the STK could be much more agressive on removing RMT, If there are other severs that don't have to camp verus gilsellers on these NM's, I will retract this, but here is a SS of the Despot camp going on now.

(Those who are not familar with the server, this picutre has 4 different RMT groups, and 1 legit JP shell, and this picture does not include the Taru BLM army's that are waiting for claim. I feel this report by SE is made of pure BS, and/or based on bad Info.)

The situation at Despot is a prime example of the law of unintended consequences, but at least now we can reasonably hope that Square will do something about the shenanigans there.

Funny thing is on Carby RMTs have stoped camping sky and went to farming Tree Cuttings... Though they came back up to sky for like a day to farm Ulli pops.

Re: The Special Task Force report (06/15/2007)

Looking on the bright side, Despot is much easier to camp than Ulli. So even if they never change it again, I'm a bit happy they changed it at all.

Also, I would say making one god be under two popped NMs would feel a bit odd. I'd prefer it if after killing a certain doll, Despot should spawn claimed to the killer of that pop, run from the alcove the doll was pulled from and attack the closest member of that party/alliance. Would be a really, really neat when a party gets half-wiped from a self-destructing doll and Despot comes out and finishes the job.

EDIT: Bonus: Because RMT love killing giant chains of Dolls without actually claiming them, Despot would probably pop unclaimed, but still chasing down those tarus, making for an easy steal.

Despot isn't so bad~ Just camp it in off hours when nobody else is there. You see 50 people camping Despot, go get the other NMs that are sitting up all emo.

reducing the bottleneck trigger mob from an 8 hr repop to a 2 hr repop was a definite win. even if cgf were to totally dominate despot (that still sounds weird. i still want to say loldespot...) they'd produce 4 times the number of gems as the stones they had before. as such, they'd be able to get roughly 1/4th as much for each of those as they did for the ulli drops. while i hate the thought that they might control despot completely like they did ulli, if i were forced to buy my byakko triggers, i'd MUCH rather pay 75% less, increasing the odds of a break even from a bhide or d log. could they do more? yes. do i feel dirty every time i consider buying byakko triggers from cgf? yes. still, they've got a good start going fixing the design problem of sky.
