I <3 the Legendary Gloves. I'm level 41 and I sooo can't wait to use those. xD

Also Plow, have you figured out how the elemental damage works? I suppose if you go into an ice zone.. you load the bow up with Fire Attack and it'll do more damage and vice versa with ice against fire mobs and what not? I haven't really understood.

    Re: dekaron/2moons

I actually sold my legendary gloves which had +20 dmg and +27 lightning for 47 total, and got a pair of divine lv54 ones that have 4* +1% x dmg for 4% total... Gives me about 80 dmg on normal shots/per shot on multi, like 175 on my guide shot, and around 200 on silent killer. Hawt shit.

And yeah I've heard that's how it works on elemental stuff, although I'm starting to think it's only on like elemental abilities, cuz with +12% ice dmg on my bow I do almost identical damage on non-elemental stuff out in Crespo as I do in the back of the caves where everything is fire based, but there is a noticeable difference on my frost shot. Not just in dmg either, I can rarely get frost shot to stick to the no-knockback guys in crespo to slow them down, but for instance the boss in Castor that can't be knocked back will take the full duration slow every time.

So how's you guys' guild going? I let the wrong person have ability to invite to my guild and he flooded it with retards so it's half-dead as I let all the idiots file out and have only been allowing invites I approve heh. Thinking about just giving up, cuz I don't want to have people inviting retards, but at my level pretty much everyone has a guild so there's nobody for me personally to invite anymore lol.

Oh and yeah I don't know if you guys know but making some armor parts +4 or better adds stats. Doesn't work on chest and helm cuz they can have sockets. But I'm going for +4 on my gloves because it adds not only the extra defense but at +4 or higher it starts adding crit, +3% at +4.

the people in it are good people, we don't have many people though. i've been trying to think of a way (like a question that's worded properly) to determine a persons nature but no luck so far.

it won't help with a persons determination to play one character and stick with it till endgame though... that's a whole nother beast lol

I screwed up my hunters skills and can't be arsed to grind 2 levels gimped to fuck =p

Had already used my stat reset and found a noble socketed xbow so reset skills to try it. Put everything in the xbow "tree" then went to equip it. Low and behold i didn't have enough Str. So now i've gotta grind from 50-52 doing 1000 damage a arrow instead of 1600-1800 with gimped triangle shot. Sucks tbh and summoner always looked fun

word on the street is once you get over 60ish summoner goes to shit

if you're going to reroll now I think bagi or segnale would be the way to go, they're both said to basically be kings in endgame

SMN is fun as hell. Went to lvl 42 in about 4 days. The lvl 34 instanced dungeon rocks (found this out today). I just wish I had more luck getting 3-socket twinswords to drop . Anybody got a lvl 42 or 48 one for sale? :D

Curious to know how effective the whole red name thing is at keeping PKing in line. How often does it happen to you? How often do you PK people?

every character is balanced in endgame as far as i know pvpwise. (ask anyone who's played the closed betas or dekaron before they started IP blocking)

around level 60 though you'd be hard pressed to find a group NOT looking for a SG for aoe parties or for the 60 dungeon (which is NUTS btw, fucking boss hits my s/s ak for 1200 magic 450-500 normals with my defense buffs up, AND he likes to spawn copies of himself >.>)

Not playing it to be really good at pvp later, playing it purely because it's fun to play.

PK'd quite afew people (Always for the best xp spots) When your names red you can't use the NPC vendors which blows. I killed like 3 people maybe and had a red name for an hour or so.

If you keep PKing you get sent to jail, jail on this game blows as you have to spend xx hours in jail. And by that it means you actually have to be logged in for that many hours you can't just not play the game for a few days lol

    Re: dekaron/2moons

I had a freaking awesome pvp time today, omg it made me wanna go play wow to avoid the red name crap and the fact that segnales heal their whole party for 3k+ on like a 2 second cast lol.

So, I join this party as it's forming, there's 1 person, another person asks him to pt and I ask him if I can join. They invite me, we get the rest of the people together, and start heading to a spot. Our Bagi, the pt leader, disconnects. Our knight decides to invite this other hunter. Knight then dc's, and the hunter gets lead somehow. Knight gets back in, we get started. Then the bagi comes back. The other hunter fuckin kicks me and says some shit about dagger sucking... (dagger is only decent option for hunter in exp pt from like 50-90, and dagger hunter is pretty much the best aoe'er in the game at those levels...)

Then he tries to lie, thinking I hadn't been there from the start, and says he was in the party but dc'd... even though I was in the pt when he got invited

So anyway I start talking shit to the hunter and eventually attack, 1v6 lol. It didn't go well, but I wasn't done

I then proceeded to fuck with them for a good 30-45 mins, getting a few kills despite 1v6, and even managing to make the 62 bagi go red then coming back and killing him lmao. (I'm 56 btw they were all higher than me, probably the real reason she kicked me heh)

Anyway I had a great time, got made red twice but that just meant i had to go get people to kill me in front of parka a couple times then run back out lol.

Was fun though, I got a number of kills, and both times I went red it was because I was forced to go after the segnale in order to have a chance to kill the others, and the poor guy got no help whatsoever from his party. Felt a little bad about that part, but at the same time it's like well I guess I showed him exactly who he's grouping with...

Moral of the story: If you want someone out of your party in a game where they can pk you, ask them nicely and they'll probably go lol. Kick em and be an asshole and you're in for some excitement.

It's actually the reality in every game I've played where pvp is available and non-pvp places are available as well. (no-pk servers, safe zones etc.) The bullshit of most people is controlled in the places where they know they'll face consequences, people in the safe zones, non pk servers, or in group v solo situations are muuuuuuuuch more likely to be assholes simply because they can.

Partying in any decent camp in ffxi especially merit camps is a perfect example.

Oh aaand, the whole time I kept telling em I'd leave if the hunter would fight me fair 1v1 but he refused. Finally at the very end he attacks me and I start lagging. I come out of the lag with about 20% shield left, and see that none of the others are joining in.

I fuckin 5 shot the guy, guide shot >auto shot > multi shot > wind shaft > another auto shot and he's dead. Oh and there was a mob on me that ate part of the multi shot, most of it actually.

Then the others gangrape me and I say ok I'll leave lol.

Also to answer this: I only pk people when either they really piss me off or they try to steal my camp. And in situations where they try to steal my camp I'll let them go if they try to get away.

The other day some summoner came into my camp and made it exceedingly obvious that he was going to try to take over. So, I set up at max range, unload my 2nd strongest attack followed by a shot that slows him down running, followed by my strongest attack. At that point I'm sure his shield was probably around 20%, he's at max range from me with no hope of getting to me, and so he turned tail and hauled off the other direction, I let him go and he didn't come back.

If not for the red thing, I would probably start shit with random people once or twice a day just for a challenge, but the risk of them not fighting back and me accidentally catching them when they're low or something and going red before I even realize they're not fighting is a big deterrent.

Mainly though it just does what I'm talking about there, makes it so that if you really don't want to fight you just run away, if you don't fight back *most* people won't kill you. Remember if you fight back, you go purple and the person won't turn red. (Unless they were already red, then it will get worse for them even if you attack them and lose.)

Sounds like an interesting system, might just have to give it a try and see how it goes.

Yeah, I remember being in a party with Ins and a couple others, PK'd a party for moving in on our spot while doing the level 30 commission and one guy said.. "Figures" like zomg pk'd oh noes.

I can't count the amount of times I've been pk'd.

Also, about the level 34 dungeon.. I'm a moron. xD I never feel like doing it and I've gotten up to 41 while doing the dungeon maybe 3 times. D: I went 34-36 in it and then just kinda fucked around hunting legendaries/and doing the level 38 commission when I could. I'll probably spam the dungeon sometime today or tomorrow though.

just stick some +29 elemental damage gems from nunvice in there. rhombus's are so crazy expensive for weapons you'll replace so fast

They do jack shit tho unless you use that element. That's why rhombus are so expensive. I managed to get some noob to sell me 2 +13's for 35k each, and got lucky and found a +24 for 100k.

Anybody know why my 4-socketed helm doesn't glow? It's got 3x +55 mana stones and 1x +9 medial... I was really hoping it would be blue or something.

    Re: dekaron/2moons

elemental gems DO help you in weapons regardless of if you use that element or not

use +29 element until you do more than 1000 per hit, then go to 3%, and onto 4% and better when it becomes worthwhile to spend that much

rhombus are more expensive because 90% of the game thinks exactly what you thought, but they're wrong

also, armor only glows from argate upgrades, not gems. only weapons glow from gems

oh and + elemental damage on armor and stuff works too, for instance the hunter level 48 legend gloves have +20 dmg and +27 lightning damage, which would be worthless if it didn't because we have 0 lightning attacks

I use gloves now that have 4x +1% x element dmg, and will probably use them for a looooooong time because there's no way to get better unless I find another divine of higher level. I also use +27 x element rings.

Argggg. Well, my current sword has 3 +29 dmg ice gems in it, and when I first started using it I coulda swore that it did more dmg than before I socketed it. /sigh. Well, thank you for the info, I'm glad I won't have to spend any more on f'in rhombuses, even if I did get a few good deals this time around. Hopefully I can still sell this sword for a premium.
