Everybody keeps raping their pictures with bloom over and over again.

Stop it, its painful to look at, your screens BEFORE the bloom were better. If your not 100% sure of how to make your screens look good, then your doing it wrong. The tutorial wafik wrote is awesome but everyone keeps mashing the button way too hard, chill out on the image and eye rape your giving.

I was trying to figure out what would bring up Leopold Bloom out of nowhere, only to discover by mere coincidence that I just missed Bloomsday. Curses!

It was forbidden knowledge. He meant well, but he's doomed us all to an eternity of neon screenshots.

FFXI's graphics are mostly okay on their own, the textures are kind of ugly and if you use the in-game screenshots they turn out dark, but... people sort of overdo it. I think the best edits are touched up just enough so that you can barely tell one was made. Differing tastes have to be taken into account, I suppose. Unsolicited advice: Touch up your screenshot and then check back in a few days and see if you still like it.

The only thing that really needs to be done to screenshots (in my personal opinion) is touching up the levels to flesh out the colors a bit more (or if you don't know how to mess with that, brightness/contrast works fine), since the colors of FFXI are kinda dull and washed out.

Maybe a touch too much on Prishe, but the Taru looks fine to me. ^^

Is it just me, or are you all completely misusing the term Bloom? I don't see any bloom in the picture above. What I do see is some emphasis on specular highlights, making it look slightly more cartoony. A proper example of bloom would be the orange crystal in my sig.

Beleive me, I do regret ever making that tutorial I wonder if alleya has that SS I made for him still of the monacle over someone's blurshot, I mean screenshot.

People that don't know when to stop it with the blur that pisses me off
They either blur the entire background but themselves, blur the whole damned image including text, darken the picture way too damn much, and misuse it.
