this thread makes me wish the girl ive been trying to get in touch with wasn't so hard to get in touch with![]()
this is like the 3rd time today ive talked with people about relationships and stuff lol.
Well, I met my girlfriend on FFXI. While she isn't a super hardcore nerd gamer, she does like them. We are in the same LS and we do raids occasionally, we play multiplayer games like halo, mario party, anything really lol. It's something we do to enjoy spending time together and I really really like it. When any of my friends comes over she plays with us for a few games but leaves us alone after that cause she knows sometimes I only wanna play with them. The main reason I like it is because if its a weekend or something and we're looking for something to do I don't have to go out and spend money on a movie or dinner or anything like that, we can just boot up the wii or the 360 and spend our evening like that =P
I can see how some guys might not like it, but I don't see how having a girl that likes the same thing you do actually harm a relationship. Brings us closer together if anything.
Anyways sorry for derailcontinue
cute thing? this saturday at school, she brought a water gun and we had a fucking insane fight with me using straws/bottle of water and her with twin minis in the classroom, and helped me clean up when school ended,,
ended up mopping for about 10min together when everyone left! it was a simple act but really, really fun and one of those HS moments you dont forget :D
another thing would be, class was watching a documentary about a family with a dad who had cancer and eventually died; they taped shit from when he first found out to death and afterwards,,
i couldnt help but cry cause i got reminded of mom and walked out of the room, she followed me and talked and stuff until class ended. wonderful girl she is, sometimes there are these moments when you realize you're a lucky person
crap, i'm single cuz i'm just like one of the guys.... SILVERBREEZE WE'RE DOOMED
I honestly can't date a guy if he doesn't play video games (halo doesnt count) or can't have a decent conversation about geforce vs. ati so I guess I'm manly and fucked for life. this almost bothers me.
almost.
The cutest thing my girlfriend ever did was leave me.

Telling a guy to stfu (S.T.F.U. not shut the fuck up) and him laughing and not getting all offended is awesome.
I also think it's like a special thing if a chick plays games. Like it's something cool you can tell your guyfriends and they can get jealous etc. If a guy doesn't appreciate my gamer girlness then fuck him, I can wait for one that does.![]()
I dont get the whole gaming thing. in a relationship I see there are different spectrums of likes/interests/activites. things that are so far apart, you never bother telling the other about/asking them to take part in. something one has no real interest in, but will do the "well its important to you, so ill do it for you" thing, and things that theres a mutual interest and you do together cause you both want to. personally, I'd want the gaming thing either to be something of mutual interest, or just dont ask why I'm cursing up a storm about blowing up a D.ingot. the gaming thing isn't that big for me, seeing as how i dont game nearly as much as i did over a year ago (i still have not beaten FFXII...and haven't touched my Wii in over a month, with both zelda and super paper mario NOT beaten lol). granted, if the next girl i were to be dating took an interest in something like wii sports, id think thats awesome, and if she made her own Mii I'd probably think thats the cutest thing ever. the good middle line is kinda like the last girl i was dating for a somewhat long amount of time. I'm a huge hockey fan, particularly a HUGE new york rangers fan. have had season tix with my dad for the past season and the like. so the girl i was seeing, its pretty safe to say in between us seeing each other i had probably been to at least 1 game. so whenever we'd go out she'd ask how the team is doing and how the games were (shes a big girlie girl, HATES sports) I'd go on...but after a few minutes realize she has no interest and her mind was elsewhere...probably on one of the two guys she was seeing on the side lol psycho bitch
No, you're not. In fact, it's a constant battle to avoid "GF aggro" when i'm in the middle of doing Salvage or killing an HNM and my GF is trying to rape me. It was cute at first but now it's kinda annoying and even though she plays XI she doesn't understand why I can't drop anything I'm doing in game to have wild sex with her at any given time.Originally Posted by Tyche
Back on topic; the cutest thing my GF did for me was stay at home with me for pretty much an entire week straight when I got my wisdom teeth out and had a dry socket.
People need to stop being retarded. Oh noez if she plays games she'll be one of the guys to me. Guess what, she's still got tits and a vagina. WTF is wrong with dating your best friend who happens to be one of the guys? You pretty much know each other completely and have the same fucking interests. What could possibly be wrong with that.
Personally I don't care. I've dated nerdy, goth, emo, preppy, gamer, crazy etc etc. It's all the same. Bottom line is, you need shit to be compatible and you need to have stuff you can both have fun doing together. The end.

What's so retarded about preference? I don't think bad of them, I am just not interested. I still think they are really cool friends, but when I think of a girl for a relationship I love diversity, and unique interests. Last girl I dated was into sports, I actually enjoyed getting back into sports myself since it's been as long as I was a kid when I was remotely interested in it.
Please don't try to go to war trying to justify there is nothing more diverse than the choice of games, just let it be. My or anyones preference shouldn't bother anyone.
I can't speak for others, but I'm not bothered; I just think it's shallow. What I think about your preferences shouldn't bother you either, though. It's your choice; you're the one that has to put up with her, not me. Pick who you're going to pick, but I think at some point you're going to realize that girls who act like "one of the guys," tend to be a lot more grounded and a lot less crazy than girls who aren't as adaptable.Originally Posted by Larsa

I dont think its shallow at all, we all have things that turn us on and turn us off.I can see what you're saying though. Girls who play video games can become "one of the guys" and become unattractive, just like guys become too close and end up being seen as like an "Older Brother" and sometimes girls lose interest.
