LOL, do you even read the posts? Or do you have reading comprehension problems? First, I answered the OP's question, he understood why, unlike you... Second, where do I advocate abstinence? My original post is unedited for you to check. Third, I did mention:Originally Posted by MF Perm

I was responsible for a group of 20+ students, and one of the girls (straight A, what some would consider emotional stable), suddenly was failing all her classes, and was upset all the time. To make it short, we thought her dad was physically abusing her, weeks later she told me it was because she had sex, and she was very afraid because she thought she was pregnant. That was just one case >_> I don't see the fallacy in my comment, do you see the word abstinence in it? Oh and spare me your pseudoscientific "research" (read:google) lol. Anyways, don't put words in my mouth, idiot.Indeed, having sex during the adolescent years does cause major psychological effects to some teens.
Well obviously if she was PRACTICING SAFE SEX SHE WOULDNT HAVE HAD TO WORRY ABOUT THAT WHICH BRINGS US BACK TO THE ORIGINAL POINT

Thanks for perpetuating the stupidity of a nation, glad to be of service in pointing it out for you regardless of you having the common sense to see it for yourself and make your own decisions. Continue with your half-assed force fed opinions, you'll make it far in life.
There is your comment, which I'll go ahead spell out for you is ignorant saying sex fucks people up, implies abstinence for teens is the only way, and calls someone else ignorant for questioning that propaganda. Welcome to the clue train, all aboard! You are in fact ignorant. The campaign is aimed at adolescents, not the general grown up population. Indeed, having sex during the adolescent years does cause major psychological effects to some teens.
Yes, but you see, sex really should be withheld for "that special person" - someone that understands the responsibility and emotional involvement as much as you. It doesn't necessarily have to be someone you intend to marry... as most people don't even know what the fuck they want anyway. I disagree, however, with the promiscuity statement. I think promiscuity is disgusting, and that sex is really not something to be shared with everyone and your brother just because you like sex. I'm a person who thinks sex really should be something involved in dating and relationships, and not just because you need to get off.Originally Posted by MF Perm
A lot of people don't seem to understand that it's perfectly alright to learn through experience... but to be honest I wouldn't want to end up with someone that has slept with so many people that sex isn't special or important to them. Every aspect of a relationship is important and is not to be taken for granted. If your partner takes sex for granted, what's the point? And alot of these people with the "sex is bad" or "right person" mentality are almost always if not always always extremely sexually insecure which causes emotional issues and relationship strife. If we're taught early on to be comfortable with our bodies and sexuality, and that it is ok to learn through experience - I think we'd be in a better place as a society.
I agree with you there. I think parents are so uptight about sexuality and sex that they teach masturbation and intercourse as something to be abhorred because it's "forbidden behavior". These types of behavior are God-given and perfectly natural... and if anything, we should be properly educating our children about it so that they can make up their own minds about it. As it is, they're left to influence/educate each other because parents are too fucking stupid to do the influencing/educating.Obviously responsible education on safe sex is key here, but there's a serious fucked up mentality regarding the issue that only adds to the problem.
One problem I have with it - there are plenty of people out there who associate sex with love, and rightfully so... I think sex should be associated with love as it makes sex much more enjoyable. But that's something to be associated if you're in a committed relationship... not if you're seeing Susie Bricks and decide you want to get into her pants. Right now, a lot of teenagers think because you had sex that means you're committed and have to see it through.. which is why people have such a tough time letting go of their firsts. I know that firsthand with a couple of girls I've slept with... and it's just disappointing.
Oh, and as a last thing - sex itself is not what causes the psychological problems, as MF said. The emotional involvement afterwards or during is what causes them.

You godamn idiot lol, my argument is that the OP equivocally presented a claim, which most believed. He noted that you imbecile. This has nothing to do with abstinence. And your quote above, it's about adolescents, I even gave an example of it. Of course, the claim from the source is broad, but logically is valid. But you are such an idiot that believes: valid = true. Does shit comes out of your mouth as if you had violent diarrhea all the time? Stop and read! I'm done here, someone pick up the slack, kthx.

Kuronosan, you are probably one of the few on the opposite side of the argument that i actually agree with. Sex inside of relationships is the most positive situation. However it should be noted that, relationships aren't as easy to find as, say sex is. And sex being a natural human need, well, lets just say going without water for a few days tends to have unwanted side effects.
I think i need to actually send a few e-mails and phones calls and speak to some people about this, this campaign seems more like a scare tactic to me.

No, it clearly states: "Indeed, having sex during the adolescent years does cause major psychological effects to some teens." I provided proof of this claim, whether it was some external factors, well that's your assumption. Anyways, you are committing red hearing. I even included the quantifier "some." So i don't give a fck what you think, this argument is logically valid here, and anywhere! Peace!Originally Posted by MF Perm

The way I look at it is like this. Conversations, to be able to have a good coversation with someone you need to practice the art of conversation. There are certain nuances and cues that if you weren't practiced in conversation you may not catch and possibly put it off course or prevent a good conversation from happening.
Now through your life you will have meaningless conversations with people you barely know. This may result in you knowing some people better and this may evolve into good relationships ( in a general term ). Now the more you practice conversation with people you love, know, and just make acquaintance with - the better you are going to become of it just through pure practice.
This of course translates in two ways: When you have a meaningful conversation with someone you truly love and care about, and you are experienced in the art of conversation you are better able to express yourself and use the proper techniques and wording to make sincere points and progressive conversation. If you lack in these skills it can lead to frustration because of your lack of ability to fully express yourself in the manner you wish to.
Now just because you rehearsed conversation with others that didn't mean much to you or stayed in your life, does not mean it will take away the special ones with those you love - it only adds to it because your confidence and experience translates into them being able to feel that much more comfortable with you.
Conversation is sex with clothes on. It is a personal interaction that relates more than words from one person to another. No one denounces conversation or thinks we should only converse with one person ever. It's the same with sex, the same benefits but different dangers.
There is a difference between just going out and fucking any person available, that's not healthy. But having a full understanding of sex and being careful but not fearful is a good attitude.
And from personal experience, not to brag, I still find sex meaningful with my fiancee with regard to the amount of partners I've had in my life. This is why I can take this stance and say what I say. Sex is what you make of it, it's not any more special because you save it. It's all the more special if you know what to do with it once you have it.

My point stands, peace 2 ur momz cop out.
"Abstinance-only education is like just-hold-it potty training."
and damn I want some sex :/
I like and respect your views, Perm.
kuronosan says how i feel better than i do
i think the problem with all of this uh... propaganda? is that it tries to use a single blanket response to an issue that is deeply personal. Every person is different, as is the way they think, and how they handle obstacles in their life. Sex is just another obstacle, and there is no defined perfect way to deal with the obstacle that is going to apply to anyone.
Sex is not conversation"Everyone" does not need to have xxx number of conversations before they become a good person to talk to. Some people relate better to others how they feel, and these people tend to converse more. Sex =/= intimacy. You dont need to have sex to learn how to be open with yourself and your feelings. Sex is the physical act, and intimacy is the coupled subjective emotional partner to it. Some people are able to separate these, and some are not. With some people, there is no attachment of sex and intimacy.
You cant really prep someone for an emotional experience they've never had, but you can protect them physically, which is what most seem to agree on here.
======
However, I think things are much easier (for that post-sex subjective experience) if love an intimacy are in place (and if people wait for these kinds of things). I think it helps dissuade those fears of separation and rejection, but what do i know
i never know if i get my idea across with these kinds of things, its too much of me talking at once![]()
You can have sex with love, you can have sex without love. There's nothing wrong with either of them.
You can get emotionally screwed up in relationship with or without sex as well. Come on, it's damn near a rite of passage to get your heart shit on at some point. Consider yourself really lucky if you haven't.
Abstinance is a choice. Nothing more, nothing less. Sex is a VERY natural thing and we just happen to live in a day and age where people really need to be careful about it. I'm a firm advocate of teaching teenagers ALL of the options (with all of the pros and cons associated with them). Honestly, I think that the more a parent/s tries to stop their kid from having sex, the more likely the kid is to do it irresponsibly.
Maybe some of the emotional issues with teenage relationships are the expectations girls and boys enter them with.
Average 13-14 year old girl's idea of boys/men: From the time they are little tiny girls they are taught the Disney fairy tale of a prince falling in love at first sight and the prince and the princess ride off into the sunset to live happily ever after.
Average 13-14 year old boy's idea of girls/women: Porn
There's a disconnect there.
