    Someone with completed Usukane feet..

I recall someone's group (was it Sci's?) had completed the Usukane feet at some point in the past.

I have a question to ask: Did the person with the completed piece only have NIN leveled? Because if they had Monk leveled as well, I wanted to ask if it was possible to verify a kick attack bonus similar to Kung Fu / Wulong / Dune footwear.

One of the upgraded feet was my group, and actually me. And nope, I don't have Monk leveled. My Monk is a mighty lvl18, so no luck there.

Someone else posted a picture of the feet upgraded on a Monk though, they could maybe test it. I remember people making fun of his gear or something, like he was using spectacles or something like that. I forget who it was though.

If these do have Kick Attack bonus they'll be even more disgustingly good.

I doubt that they do, but it was something I was more curious about than anything. Basically I was thinking *far* into the future and asking myself "Ok, if a Monk had a full Usukane set, would it give enough haste to warrant worth wearing?" I figured no, just due to how much the increase from Dune Boots is, then I thought "..But what if the Usukane Feet had a kick attack bonus".

Aurik made a post on KI theorizing that the Usukane boots would outperform dunes, due to the other bonuses it brings to the table.. I think <_< There was some math in it and I was abducted shortly after that so I don't remember it all!

I think, in very simple terms, that Aurik concluded that even fumas could outparse dune boots if you had enough haste from gear/spell/songs, so there should be even more scope for Usukane to beat them even without kick dmg bonus.

Strike Subligar would work, Bahamut's Hose only on a PUP. I don't have PUP leveled, but I would sooner get Bahamut's Hose than Strike Subligar. 600k for something I don't want, no thanks. >_>

At any rate, even without some hidden effect, I'd find it hard to believe that they wouldn't increase overall DoT more than Dune Boots.

I'm not sold on Usukane feet being a merit party upgrade on Fumas for NIN, much less Dune Boots for a MNK.

Did you read the stats on Usukane feet properly? Or would you wear a Blitz Ring over a Mars's Ring too?

    I'll save you the trouble:

    Usukane Sune-Ate
    Accuracy +7
    Attack +7
    Store TP +7
    Haste +2%
    Enmity +5

I think you're crazy. I sold my Fumas the second I turned in the upgrade items for the feet. 7 accuracy, 7 attack, and 7 store TP for 1% haste is an awesome trade off. You'll have more accuracy and hit slightly harder with Usukane, and the additional Store TP allows you to cut out around 2 hits to 100 TP.

Basically if you had Warrior, you would give up a Sniper ring and Rajas and just wear a Blitz Ring and nothing for the 1% haste? Don't get me wrong, haste is good, but it doesn't trump all.

*edit Beated to the Blitz ring comparison.

Okay, I was overstating it. But their edge over Fumas is a hell of a lot smaller in merit situations than people think. 3% increase in TP-phase DoT for Fumas vs. maybe 3.5% plus 7 Store TP for Usukane. Dune Boots are a much bigger boost than that.

I'll be right back. Trading my Rajas Ring for a Flame Ring.

You could get the R/EX Kyahan, and still sell your Fumas. Problem solved :D

lol...are you serious. 1% Haste vs 7Acc, 7Atk, 7Store TP just incase you missed it the other times. No comparison.

Not to mention the +5 Enmity so your NIN can maybe hold some hate, oh wait so many NINs don't care about that anymore in xp.

Usukane are by far the best looking feet for all of the jobs that can wear. I'm sure it will be a close call between Dune's and Usukane for MNK but Usukane are wow for Asuran Fists anyways.

I'll have to disagree with this. It's not a lack of caring about holding hate, it's actually bad for the party to try. I've been in merit parties where I have near 100% of the hate because of really weak DDs and myself first voking everything. And it's horrible for exp. There's no way to keep up shadows with 100% of the hate, and you'll just start taking a beating and MP will run out fast. It's bouncing hate amongst people with 'shadows' that makes merit parties work so well.

On the other side of the coin (HNMs), the feet are really nice for NIN/DRK. Haste for lowering recasts, and a huge amount of enmity for making the spells build more hate is awesome.

My group completed these and it's a MNK that has them. I can ask him to post here if you like with any findings.
