CPS3 (Street Fighter 3) Emulation

Yeah we have MvC2, we use to be all over that and Guilty Gear. We had the first Street Fighter 3 also when it came out.. I remember everyone was so amazed.

Too bad I don't have any joysticks for the pc ;o Btw, the DC version of SF3:3S is a piece of shit. All the parrying timing is off compared to the arcade. Now, the PS 2's works really well and the timing is identical to the arcade.

Here's some OF vid where Akuma is laying down the smack. Back in the days I could do some of the combos, others are impossible with the ps 2's controller ;( Anyways, parrying is a bitch ._. Protip: If you want to parry Chun Li's Houyoku Sen: Parry .5 sec. between kicks which is a barrage of 7 (15 in total), pause 1 sec. continue with the last wave of 7, the last one is the tricky one because you have to jump and parry her last kick in mid air.

Fairly certain I could haved PWNED just about anyone using Ryu / Sakura / Cable.

I've been playing MvC2 a lot on nullDC emu. Works perfect except for a few graphical errors (intro is a bit screwy with portraits, Megaman's Hyper Megaman transformation lags a bit and has old colours on the knees). Playing around just for fun, I probably couldn't take someone using the big four top tier characters, but I think I'm decent enough to win some matches.

I don't even think our local arcade has SF3.

if it makes you feel any better my local arcade is about an hour drive away, and I'm not sure they have anything better than soul edge.

I rather play on xbox 360 playing whatever SF fighting game. I go to SF2 gatherings in person but sometimes you just don't want to drive considering the gas prices.

MvC 2 isn't CPS3.

Quite, its Naomi for its 3D effect in the backgrounds which look pretty nice.

Update! With Mame's latest release CPS3 is now playable online! So if anyone wants to play some SF3 Third Strike let me know! or needs help setting it up.
