Guys in my LS wont help me do this becuase they are scared that the DC trick is "circumventing game mechanics" and that they coudl get banned or jailed.
Are their fears justified?

no
lol. Yes, they are gonna get banned for accidentally d/cing the same time as their friends. (No. I've talked to a GM while in Salvage solo/duo/less than 6 before, they don't care.)Originally Posted by Palin@Ramuh
I have been soloing/duoing QQ:TH a lot, and finally got the drop. (yay! pics later if I feel like it. 0/12 solo, 1/6 duo, 0/12 with group). Haven't really tried anything uber (i.e. fast kills so I can do astro/chariot). Here are some of my observations with QQ:TH (sorry if some of these are repeats). Solo runs were with me as rdm/nin, and duo runs with rdm/nin and a blm/doesntreallymatter.
3rd Floor: This bugger is VERY random and does weird things sometimes. He often doubles back after dots are applied. However I noticed he doubles back a lot more often when hes taking the center to porter path. Because of this, its a good idea to anticipate this and save a DoT for when he doubles back.
Although his patterns are somewhat random, they seem consistent to that particular run. For example, the one where I finally got the drop, he kept losing aggro somewhere in the middle, and walked along the path rather than fleed. One thing to note: Usually when he doubles back on the south side, he comes back unclaimed. However, every time he doubles back on the north side, he is claimed. Any idea how exactly claim is maintained/lost?
4th Floor: Fairly straightforward, although I would like to report an experience I have seen multiple times. Sometimes (about 3 out of my ~9 solo/duo runs), QQ:TH would get from one room to the other without taking the middle hallway. He would just wallhack between the corners of the two rooms. He then oddly goes idle in the hallway instead of one of the rooms. Today my friend witnessed this in our duo run. Has this happened to anybody else? Made me laugh at first, but then I got pissed since it changed the mechanics of claim (had to kite him around for a while).
In general, the mechanics of this mob are very weird. However, with sufficient practice (especially with 3rd floor) you can adjust your strategy based on the situation.
On your duo runs for 3F, are you using the strat where you follow the QQth after using dot/nuke? I've duo/trio+, now something like 0/53 on QQth, and we rarely see it go back to his original portal. We send the rdm to his spawn, poison+(nuke if he can), and blm stays at the initial player's portal to that floor and bio/nuke2x. It's a lot safer than chasing and about 95% predictable. If we dont have any melee, we've almost never seen the QQth turn around and go back to any portal.
We haven't killed anything else duo, since we have 2 monks and a sam needing lv35 Usukane legs from the Chariot, so we've had more people come. blm/whm, rdm/whm, thf(dual box) and monk/nin can easily take down the Chariot fighting it in a normal style. You just need to farm a few gears to get SJs and several more mobs on 1F.
Ive seen him wallhack yeah.. was funny
sorry for the somewhat necro bump but its on the first page still...
Figured i would contribute to the thread and ask a question.
I soloed the 3rd and 4th floor QTH's today as blu/nin basically by using utsusemi, warm-up, metallic body, and disseverment. After i hit it with one disseverment on the third floor i would drop back to the corner of the porter room tonko up and wait out exactly 20 seconds, if he didn't run back in i woulld silent oil and tonko and run after him.
Rinse, Wash and repeat he will die after about 7-8 rounds of this due to disseverments dot and duration, you can easily make the run across the third floor get there and have time to wait while the poison wears.
fourth floor works the same way, invis in a corner and wait to see if he comes back if not give chase.
warm-up and sole sushi help greatly with this since sometimes you may miss disseverment because it is a thf!
i have max sword merits too... which helps accuracy. Anyway i went 0/2 today, i find this way to do alot easier than doing it with my blm... faster too since disseverment generally hit it for around 200 initially.
So my question is this... Would anyone know how to go about soloing the chariot as a blu? if so can someone give me feedback on this please?

Yeah, figure if the only thing you're concerned with is macha's coat, BLU is the way to go. Bio II and Poison II last 90 seconds, so you have to be very careful about how you apply them so they don't wear off by the time you get to the other side. Disseverment is more DoT than both Bio II and Poison II, and it lasts 180 seconds. It would be incredibly easy to make it to the other side without reaggroing and before DoTs wore off. Disseverment also has the bonus of initial damage. Really, you might as well go BLU/THF and bring some prism powders. SA Disseverment will land at least one hit, and you'll get TH. You could probably do the QQA too as BLU/NIN, would just need to bring some yagudo drinks.
Pretty interesting ^^ You might be able to solo the Chariot with a similar method as a Rdm would solo. With Crimson Cuisses, you would be able to outrun Chariot with ease, and lose hate. You would most likely need several yag drinks, I think a Rdm soloing with mainly DOT takes ~40 minutes. One question though, I'm not too knowledgeable of bluemages, but I thought that you wouldn't know if the poison procs until you see the message that it wears off. Are you relying on your capped sword merits for the higher chance of the poison landing? or is it always going to land?
Disseverment poison nearly always lands, unless the mob is immune to it.Originally Posted by fishstix
Yep, disseverment usually always lands if atleast one hit lands of all the folds.
unless the mob is immune of course.
Edit: Will TH1 affect r/ex drops? I use /nin mainly for inventory management because stacks of 99 tonko > stacks of 12 powders. and of course emergency utsusemi.

It's like asking how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop.Originally Posted by Xisin

Did my first QQTH duo thing
RDm and blu/nin
Blu/nin for QQTH rocks. i invis, with chain affinity and sole sushi. and hit it for 700 dmg took 20% of his life(disservment). run to the corner invis up he came back with no aggro and hit it with blu frorst and Frenetic rip. then it ran and do a cannonball for 350. he ran back to the inicial portal and my Friend Bio 2 and poison 2. it was 60%.
He out run him lost hate and dots got to 100% then it came to port did the same thing at 35% he didnt ran at all soo i just spam blumage spells and dead took uss 10 mins.
We went to floor 4th
This is a joke...
Invis up hit it with disservement rdm bio 2. we wen to the corner invis up. he came back with no hate at all. rinse and repeat. we never got hit took around 10 mins.
We went up but i forgot about 4th floor gears for a subjob cell for my rdm friend.
I have no cuisses soo i think is kinda imposible for me to kill Chariot with no cuisses, no mp boost and no hp boost.
Soo we kill some gears for level 15 pieces till i get pwned by the stupid Rail Cannon shit.
Anyway was fun
The 1-gear mobs on the 5th floor can also drop subjob cells. When I do small group runs, I tend to fight these mobs instead of 4F gears due to how 5F gears are on the way to Chariot, and the final room, killing one can help clear the path to pull. Gravity and bind lands rather well on the Chariot and with taking advantage of the pillars, you should be able to keep your distance while kiting especially with utsusemi and if you can land a stun from headbutt, etc. The Chariot starts to resist debuffs after too long however.
If i do the gears on floor 5, the ramprt will aggro if im mistaken. Or i can avoid it with sneak invis? I think if i pull the chariot it will aggro the ramaprt
how this works?
Just wait till the gears are away from the Rampart and pull them. Also, the rampart wont aggro you if you sneak/inv past it.Originally Posted by Alcarin
Good lord!!! lmao
Do you know how much times i became crankyman and shout my members about no more mistakes noobs. Didnt know that. Next time i can avoid killing that ramaprt and adds.
thanks for the advice
