I doubt you'll be forced onto a EU-specific server. I'm thinking that server populations will form around specific nationality/timezones, as it'll mean players can find more people to play with on a server with a like-timed population/language.

I could see a situation where they might merge three servers into two... but are there really servers out there with a population so low that a two to one would happen and combined they'd rival the population of the highest volume servers?

I'd *think* not prior to worldshift... but maybe after all the dust settles that will be the case.

Not necessarily, mostly because there isn't the divide between EU and NA as there is between JP and NA. JP majority servers are likely, but there will always be a healthy mix of EU and NA on any given server because of the potential friendships aquired (which everyone knows is most of the reason we still play this game anyway).
