Field day, go!
People can become addicted to anything.
JUST LIKE HOW YOUR MOM GOT ADDICTED TO MY COCK
Metah, u r lame. k?
It was just an example
Everyone is addicted to something in this world. Drugs, movies, video games, sex, murder, the internet (aka more sex).
Is this mental disorder classified as being driven towards having fun?
Wow...just wow. WTF treatmet is this that could possibly have any basis in reality?A leading council of the nation’s largest doctors’ group wants to have this behavior officially classified as a psychiatric disorder, to raise awareness and enable sufferers to get insurance coverage for treatment.
Thats not an addiction. Thats JESUS CHRIST I HAVE NO SELF CONTROL OR COMMON SENSE! And why the hell didn't the parent just end it by taking away his computer if she was that concerned. I swear nobody has any common sense anymore.Joyce Protopapas of Frisco, Texas, said her 17-year-old son, Michael, was a video addict. Over nearly two years, video and Internet games transformed him from an outgoing, academically gifted teen into a reclusive manipulator who flunked two 10th grade classes and spent several hours day and night playing a popular online video game called World of Warcraft.

Wait, a teenager becomes reclusive and manipulative?! Great shades of Elvis! This has never happened before! Someone change all of those protest signs blaming Marylin Manson for all of society's ills to now read video games!
i can't find the link at work, but when i'm home i'll post the article where the Parents went to a Cyber Cafe to play Everquest, and they' let their 10month old suffocate in the crib by leaving him alone. Pretty Sad..
If I had a choice between having a child addicted to World of Warcraft or pills / cocaine / heroin I don't know here.........
Calling a psychological disorder is a bullshit ploy to put kids on more drugs since the ADHD craze is winding down. I remember when I got a D on my report card the Super Nintendo was locked in mom and dads room for the entire next semester. My grades shot up. Then semester after that I got it back and they went back down lol. Vicious cycle that was.
Exactly! Sounds to me that parents more and more these days are trying to absolve themselves of punishing their children by calling their bahaviors "addiction" or "disorder" and sending them to a consellor. In my day, when I fucked up, my parents took away the cause until I fixed myself just to get it back, and I ended up just fine. The only thing I was glad of was that it wasn't in my parents day when I would've been beaten shitless for screwing up. We're taking this whole "oh we can't punish our children" thing a bit too far. At some point you just have to draw the line and realize that kids aren't the perfect little angels we like to think they are, unfortunately.Originally Posted by MF Perm
This falls under the catigory of you can find a pattern in anything if you look hard enough. Everyone is addicted to something, the real question is what is 'normal'?
