USB Microphone/Headset problem

Hey, I just bought a new headset a week ago (Motorola X205 gaming headset), and it worked fine for a while, then one day after unplugging it and plugging it back in, the sound is all messed up. It's extremely staticy and it makes a constant crackling sound. This goes through the Mic too (LS mates on Vent screamed at me to gtfo when I said something D.

I've tried it in all 4 USB ports, so I was sure it was the headset's connector that had something wrong with it. But then I went and grabbed the little piece-of-shit headset from the PS2, and it did the same thing. I know for a fact that the PS2 headset worked fine beforehand as well.

What could the problem be here? Maybe the PCI card?

it'd be the fact your using a USB Headset? Maybe, I got away from USB Headsets...they screwed up on me a lot man. If you can, go get a $15 headset with the usual pink/green plugs, worked wonders for me till I got my bluetooth headset.

Yea.. I used a normal green/pink input one and then decided to get a usb soon after, eventually I couldn't hear myself and my sound was all messed up, even though everything was boosted and the sound hadn't been touched, and now whenever I plug something in a certain usb port on my comp, it shuts down, lol. I'm just staying away from usb headsets from now on.
