TV Links ruining my internetz ;_;

Anyone use that TV links page? It's the only new one I've been to lately and now I seem to get popups like crazy. I tried doing ad-ware and my bf did spybot, but they just keep happening even though I stopped going to that site.

Anyone have any idea how to get rid of them? >.>;

Hmmm, try to turn off all the processes you know of (the list pops up if you do an "alt" + "ctrl" and "delete," go to processes tab. Turn all the ones that you know. This will hopefully decrease the size of the whole list. Why you ask? Well, google the rest of the processes active, it should take like 10 sec or so to know if it's a shady process or not. Once you find the shady ones, make note of its names and use spybot to completely eradicate them manually, including registry. The newer ones (malware) store in your sys memory, that's why even if spybot deletes them, they come back after you restart. So if try it like I mentioned it should get rid of them. You can also gather the list of processes from your spybot's log ;o Hope it works~

Might be a BHO that was installed.

HijackThis http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php is a nice utility for basically telling you everything in startup/BHO/etc and giving you a way to get rid of it. Be warned though, it does not discriminate, just gives you convenient access to be able to remove things without needing to poke around in several locations.

Also, if you're trying to get rid of things like this, consider turning off System Restore. It can be good, it can also undo what you fix >_>
Occasionally you may need to take ownership of the System Volume Information as well, since by default AV programs and the like can't scan in it, so things sometimes hide there.
