SE aims for the active hackers and banks, most RMT by this time have learned to lay down and stop, those that don't are replaced with ease.

A lot of the "Theologist" ls didn't get hit, just gent and a couple. They changed their name to "Feather"

I have to admit all these banning of accounts still means more money for SE if RMT's keep having to purchase new CD-Keys for each account getting slapped down.

They don't actually make that much money off of new CDkeys being purchased, because buying the game costs like $20 and comes with a free month (worth $15~)

That happens when there's too much money and it becomes worthless.

Doing a quick check on IGE: 2,000,000 gil(2 million gil) goes for around 101 dollars.

Pretend for a moment all that gil was removed from supply pool that was exclusively IGE's.

SE removed roughly 6,400,000,000 gil.

That's 3,200 packages of 2,000,000 gil.

That means removed (by this point, very estimated) 323,200 dollars worth of profit, not including the actual cost of characters and the cost of time being spent leveling on those characters.

Now, don't get your hopes up... a lot of who SE banned weren't RMT at all and not all of RMT SE banned were selling to IGE. However, you can see how this could be slowly killing the market.

This is the only the efforts in-game by one company. With RMT tax becoming a possibility, the cost to run a RMT site would increase a very large amount. At some point, there isn't going to be profits, but losses, and that's a how a market dies.

Isn't the majority of the acounts banned are temporary?? If a GS bank gets temp banned, they can just easily move the gil to another account after the LM-16 (or was it LM-11) is over.

Well, if gil has been moved out of the system... then it isn't a temp ban for those accounts which resulted in the gil being lost. It doesn't say "temporarily removed".

and I've heard a ton of rumors about relic bannings on hades but no confirmations yet.
