one of my favourite games from the 64 series was the 2 THQ wrestling games,

    WCW vs NWO world tour

    and Wrestlemania 2000

The control in those 2 games was fantastic, no other wrestling game to date can touch them, especially wrestlemania 2000 since it improved upon the latter.

Wrestlemania 2000 added a few new moves to the mix, one of which was being able to run over bodies in the ring seamlessly while going off ropes and such. Worked great when I'm doing a "People's Elbow" in the middle of a 4 man Battle Royale.

I've got my 64 in my closet with 6 controllers(2 turbo) Next time I bring my 3 friends over I'm so busting it out. It's hard to beat good "same screen" multiplayer games.

they are downloadable games similar to our playstation network, except Nintendo has gone about grabbing all the old nintendo games.

They are usually a few dollars on the Virtual Console(Their version of playstation network)

That's pretty cool, a few of those are classics I'd definitely pay a few dollars for. Nintendo should advertise features like this better, I'm more tempted to get a Wii now.

lol they always advertised this when releasing it.

I love microtransactions, they are prob my favorite part of the next gen system are all these downloadable games.

And yea Ive heard good things about that wrestling game.

Speaking of Mario RPG, i know most of you Mario RPG fans swear against it, but it has been confirmed that Paper Mario should be out any Monday now. (Source - Nintendo Power)

Well, it's not something they'd be pushing as their main marketing influence for the Wii.... cause these are just re-releases of previous games... It's more of a "tide me over" in my opinion, since they haven't had any original content in it yet. But that's gonna change soon.

The way the Wii sells they could advertise it burning on fire w/ a skull and crossbones and it wouldn't matter.

    Re: Official Virtual Console Thread

Sony is going to be coming out with their own wii-mote rip-off in due time.

    Wonder how it'll do?

Regarding Wii HDD add-on possibility for new "Wii-ware":

    http://computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=166810

There is an interview with Nintendo of the UK.

Is Nintendo considering releasing a hard drive to bolster the Wii's memory for all this new content?

    Nintendo: No.

A motion sensitive wand won't really work for PS3 because it's not part of the base package. Market penetration for peripherals is really low...considering PS3 already has limited distribution, that means a very small target market for games which utilize it :-/

Yeah, generally speaking, unless it comes packaged with the system, its never going to become mainstream. I think one of the notable exceptions was the PS1 switching from its old controller to the dual-shock over its life cycle, but that was kind of forced I guess.

Although, this debate belongs in the console wars and not this thread, keep it about VC games here. I've got a question though. For those who play on the VC, is it pretty solid emulation? No slowdown, graphic errors, etc?

Yeah, I just wish it'd actually play games directly off the SD cards, would just make more sense. Are they just worried about pirating or something? As far as I know, the VC games are only playable on the system they're bought on anyway, right?

They actually improve the graphics a little bit on some of the emulated games. I've noticed no slow downs in the couple of games I've downloaded (Sonic, Starfox, Mario64)
