Hmmm, I can't be certain since I'm not on Phoenix, but maybe it's for the same reason Rollchan had tons of 75s... she can only level because no one will take her into their shell.

She just transferred to Phoenix like last week or two weeks ago? Whenever the server transfers came up. She also is sporting the title too so maybe it's recent.

Slightly necro but not horribly but someone in my LS asked "what good is a Maat's Cap". My answer was based on my experience with a JP who owns a Maat's cap, Walahra Turban and an Ace's Helm. After a few weeks of testing we came with: for meleeing stick with Turban limiting Maat's to WS macroing in and int builds on blm (and Mnd on rdm). Keep in my mind I made my answer short as hell and 3 lines.

After giving that answer I appeared to be (1) jealous of Maat cap owners and (2) a green~eyed monster for not getting my own and (3) a jealous fk of an asshole. But I stand by my answer and really getting sick of asking did my answer seem really that wrong. Sure I could've made my timing better but someone did ask "What's a Maat's cap" and I gave that answer...

So anyone whose done parsers (since my results show numbers but the section listings are in hiragana/kanji and mean diddly squat) was I (1) wrong about Turban and Maat's usage and if so (2) by how much and (3) was my assumption based on my past experience that a Turban was better overall in meleeing limiting Maat's cap to WS macro in piece or blm's going for that int build? To be fair Ace's helm proved better on the jobs it was usable for so yeah.

PS: Just fkn settle it for me because apparently I am befuddled as to why I am defending this position. And also I find a few ppl in the LS believe Osode > Haubergeon +1 and I honestly feel the the exact oppositte is true for ninja. So being in a state of trying to defend my worldy view of FF I come to you to either set me on the right path if wrong Have used search functions to find something but majority results came in this thread with other stuff on the dex/crit ration and drk buils/set ups. So posting not out of laziness but can't find decent returns on the search

Hecatomb is bound to be comparable (or better) with just Sneak Attack, its 5 more str and only 2 less dex, 1 less if you go for hq.

On thf i usually WS in heca. Im a major DEX whore though and i like TP'ing in maats cap;; plus i fucking hate the look of turban on my taru

Hecatomb is bound to be comparable (or better) with just Sneak Attack, its 5 more str and only 2 less dex, 1 less if you go for hq.

THF WS and Sneak attack don't have a STR mod, only the fSTR calculation. Greater Colibri, for example, have a VIT of just 67. The upper cap for the best Thief weapons (P. Harpe and Mandau) is 12 for fSTR. As long as your dSTR (STR-VIT) is at least 20, Thief will cap out on fSTR vs. Greater Colibri. That means just 87 STR. Hume Thf/nin at 75 without STR merits has 59 base STR. Heca feet, hands, Maat's cap, Amemit+1, Rajas, Warwolf = +32 already - making 91 STR.

fSTR is already capped, the 5 more STR on Hecatomb Cap only gives you +2.5 attack. Id rather have another 2-3 WDMG than 2.5 attack - maybe it's just me.

If you're fighting an HNM, then Hecatomb Cap+1 would probably be comparable.

Plus, with 3 mnks using af2 gloves, rajas, colibri only ws once at about 15% hp, sometimes 0 times if TP Works out :D. Easier for mages too... oh yea MNK/WAR ftw.

raven gets 30% crit solid at colibri camp with maats cap. I'd have to argue for mnk, it's the best head piece. While relic thf is good DD, it still can't keep up with countertank mnk. The mindlessly hit things is important because two boxing owns.
