What's wrong with my sig? It's got the magical elements that make a sig.

    - Lack of focus
    - Lack of specific theme
    - Unreadable text
    - Emo Poetry
    - Job levels
    - HNM
    - Rare gear
    - Random Photoshop filters
    - Lens flares

    To Wafik:
No you don't know what it's like
    When nothing feels all right
You don't know what it's like
    To be like me

No it doesn't. Sorry. Few percent behind.
One percent behind at worst if the THF is at the top of his game. It's much easier to disprove that something can't be done than to prove it can't be done. All it takes is a single counterexample, which I and another mandau thf on my server have experienced plenty of.

Name the party setup and food that you want everyone to use and I can provide you a parse that shows Mandau coming within +- 1% of a decked out Ridill WAR.
Your ridill wars sucking doesn't make your mandau better.

Nyzul mamools, ridill war, spharai monk, mandau thf, 2 brd, rdm, all the goodies, etc. Ends up being mid-30s for mnk and war (war slightly ahead) and a few percentage behind for mandau thf. Not to say that the thf doesn't contribute, feint is awesome for the lurker there.

Likewise, your not having parsed against the right people doesn't make mandau any worse.

Is this with THF/WAR or THF/NIN with Suppa? How much haste from gear did this THF have? And surely out of 20+ different Ridill WARs I would have to have parsed against at least 1 who was good. Best anyone ever did was beat me by .5% on Mamools at the south camp. This was a WAR with 8 sword, 8 axe, e. body, full double attack merits, haidate, dusk gloves+1, and swift belt. Speed Belt would have probably edged him out as the clear victor, but then again I didn't have speed belt either so if we both had it, it still would have been even.

/war, lots of haste, etc. full double attack merits with a ridill = fail, by the way.

ridill/nin beats spharai/nin narrowly, and spharai/nin beats mandau/war and mandau/nin on everything but piercing.

Have you tried this against a mandau/nin with suppa, love torque, and 18+% of haste from gear?

Love torque is not gonna help that much (whoop de do, 7 attack), haste yes, and Wafik's /nin is 2-3% weaker than his /war primarily due to no Suppa, so that wouldn't push him over the top of both me (a few percent ahead of mandau/war) and a maxed ridill (a percent or two further ahead of that).

Re: To the Maat's Cap owners.

He must be doing something wrong then, or not eating the best food. Somehow I can find 3 mandau thfs including myself who can consistently match or outparse Ridill WARs, those being the only 3 I've even asked or who have said something about it publicly.

Either the only Ridill WARs in the entire game who are any good just happen to be on your server, or your conclusion is flawed.

Edit: Also, perhaps you should have him change his DM earring to a Suppa and actually try it, so you can test your hypothesis about the 2-3% firsthand instead of just assuming.

Asking mandau thfs "do you outparse ridill wars?" is hardly a balanced question. I outparse plenty of shitty ridill wars, and most of the good ones too. By far most of them are poorly geared or made merit mistakes. I've only met one that regularly puts down better numbers than me. That doesn't make spharai/nin stronger than ridill/nin.

I've meritted enough with Wafik, and know enough about what gear he is missing and how it should impact his damage, to know that even were he to get the last few things, barring phenom new gear / mechanics changes, mandau thf will never put out bigger numbers than spharai/nin (and hence ridill/nin) on neutral mobs.

I've merited enough with myself, and I know enough about the people I'm meriting against to know how their gear choices impact their damage. Firsthand experience > assumptions, sorry. Feel free to worldshift to Valefor temporarily and I'll match you in a parse at Mamool Ja staging point.

You're the one citing "full double attack merits" with a ridill as an example of maxing ridill's power, I think I can safely disregard your firsthand experience.

You think wrong unfortunately. The Mandau Thief that you've parsed against is suffering a severe lack of equipment (and as such, DoT). So I think I can safely disregard your firsthand experience. But hey, maybe he's the best Mandau Thief there is, and every single other person who has a Mandau is delusional, and every single other Ridill WAR on all the other servers are gimped. Yea, I bet that's it.

Keep talking about something you have no experience with though. I haven't even mentioned yet the fact that another Mandau THF consistently parses 1% higher than me, and I'm consistently matching and/or beating every Ridill WAR I've parsed against.
