Sanction Duration

I'm wanting to confirm some data about the duration of sanction. I know the wiki is listing an hour increase for every rank. However I've used a stopwatch over the weekend and It appears that my sanction (at SL rank with the AC safe) was lasting ~6 hours.

Can other people confirm durations for other ranks so we can clear this up; if this is a strange glitch that Phoenix is experiencing, I want to get it fixed ASAP.

On one occasion when I timed it we just won a level 8 besieged.

One thing I thought of is commonly after a meripo session (since i'm rdm/whm) I will tele-crag -> sea -> tav safehold -> moogle for warp back to whitegate (rather then use a charge on something). Perhaps when you 'leave' ToAU sanction considers the AC lost and immediatly halves the duration of sanction.

Assuming the AC isnt lost (were 2 attacking lvl 8s during lunchtime) I'll sit idle in a toau area over night and see if it wears before i wakeup.

I doubt it has to do with halving the duration after it's been applied.

Pretty much everything else that has a duration is calculated when it's applied and never changes.

Troubed songs, 'extended food duration' from sanction, etc. None of it changes when either the troub effect wears or if you leave ToAU areas.

For instance, I ate a porcupine pie once with extended food duration. It lasted 8 hours exactly even though I was only in ToAU areas for 2 of those.

Timed it again from mog house and sanction expired exactly at 6 hours. AC was still present in town.

So has anyone had a duration of sanction longer then 6 hours at SL rank?

How long had it been since you last lost the AC? I know a lot of stuff scales back up from minimum effect after you lose it. Could be Sanction duration also works this way. Or Wiki could just be wrong. Equal chances.

Its been awhile. Been having lvl8 besieged for the last two weeks.


*edit* though i'm pretty sure at an earlier rank i had a much longer sanction duration.

I'm just trying to figure out if
a) its something local and possibly bug
b) something global thats changed and normal.

I guess I could just ask a GM but i'm sure I'll get the "we cant give hints about in game" can of response.

I love being able to eat a Hedgehog Pie with food sanction, go back to the old world, pop Signet, and enjoy 6 hours of asskickery for 10-15k. Thanks to the effect not wearing with Sanction.
