There are already rumors around that the Celtics made that trade in order to have Ray Allen as another chip for the offseason. If that ends up working out they can probably work out a good trade somewhere involving Allen to get Pierce some help without losing Al Jefferson. Then again, it's Danny Ainge... he probably made the trade in hopes of having a "successful" 32-50 season next year.

Delonte West was also included in the trade.

    Nothing quite like trading injuries.

Draft was incredibly insignificant after the first pick. KG stayed, Staudamire stayed, and the portland trailblazers will be a force to be reckoned with over the next 5 years assuming they don't screw up trades and stay out of jail.

Yeah I agree, Curry and Ranolph COMBINED average 0.8 blocks per game. Thats rediculous.

I think the celtics got Allen as trade bait for Marion, but who knows.

I think Portland jailblazer era is long over. They have quality character players now. Well, except for Darius Miles.

He doesn't anymore. He's gained about 50 pounds since he quit playing. He still has the bug eyes, but now looks like a fat crack fiend.

And the hot topic on the Portland airwaves is that they're going to be buying out Steve Francis' contract, which somehow allows them to free up cap room this year (presumably for Rashard Lewis). In which case, they traded Zach Randolph & pocket lint for Channing Frye and Rashard Lewis, which sounds a lot better. They just wanted to be the hell free of Randolph.

so glad that they got rid of that lazy piece of shit.... hes ok offensively but he takes a year to get back on defense and then sucks ass on it

Randolph had his issues, but at least he was productive. Now if they could only get rid of Darius Miles....

There's actually a way for them to get out, but it's entirely up to Miles. If Miles declares his injury catastrophic and career ending, he can retire, insurance will pick up the remainder of his contract, and Portland instantly gets the cap room back. That means Darius couldn't play basketball for a few years, but he gets the remainder of his contract and never has to show up for work again. That sounds like the perfect scenario for all involved.

Micro fracture knee surgery. He should just retire.

Knick fan will soon find out that Randolph is a hard worker. He was one of the hardest workers on the Blazers. Problem is, he doesn't play any help d, and is a black hole on offense. Not sure how you can play with two black holes on offense (Curry/Randolph). Plus he likes the strip clubs and the trouble that comes along with it. Hi Pacman.

Exactly. I'm a huge knicks fan and this is what i've been trying to explain to them. Randolph averaged 24 points a game off of, 45% shooting. (Curry averaged 20 off 56%.) Theyre both lazy on defense, and together they dont even average 1 block a game which is sorry as hell. We have the offense, we'll just have no downlow presence on the defensive side of the ball and it'll cost us a lot of games.

at least steve francis is gone. i dont have much expectations for randolph, but now we only have to deal with 1 point guard who doesn't distribute. regardless, the knicks have been a disgrace for years, this isn't going to change that much, if at all. for the love of anything holy, why does isiah thomas still have a job?!?!

The people who own MSG and all the teams playing with in it are the fucking assholes who have killed Basketball/Hockey in NYC

All I know is most Knick games are all sold out. When people still show up to watch a basement team, the owners dont give a hoot, they are making money regardless

Knicks payroll is so over-capped (its mind boggling, Hi2u Alan Houston)

Only thing that will revive the Knicks is when the Nets move to Brooklyn and Jigga Man (Jay-Z) starts taking away all the fans from the Knicerbokers and the Nets start to shine

yeah, James Dolan is a cunt, he has done a large part to ruin NYC sports. as a DEVOTED rangers fan more or less since birth (season ticket holder, all that jazz yeah) I cant begin to express my hate and loathing for that man. right now the big difference between the two franchises are the men running them, Isiah Thomas for the knicks, and Glen Sather for the rangers. when Sather came in, he was making the bad signings of over the hill vets, wrong guys for wrong spots, and generally overpaying everyone and anyone just cause he could, thats how in hockey circles MSG came to be known as the retirement center on 34th st. during like his 2nd or 3rd season a reporter asked Sather about the moves he made, and he essentially said "well im just doing what dolan is saying, and bringing in his guys with a blank check, im not making the team i want to make or how i want to make it." to which many rangers faithful expected Sather to be instantly canned. after that he started dumping veteran contracts for prospects and picks, made some good signings, and some excellent late round draft picks and boom its been a pretty quick turnaround. Thomas on the other hand, is a no testicle having tool, he's either clueless or refuses to stand up to Dolan. just look at his track record as an executive, every franchise he left was in worse shape when he finally left than when he got there. I'm not going to miss francis, but frye was one of the guys they could have possibly tried to build the team around, and now they have 2 sluggish big men down low. this team knows no limits to sucking, at least they didn't give away 2 first round picks this time
