So after all this time, the story Miria told us about Claymores being test subjects/weapons for an army across the seas finally starts coming into play. Honestly, I feel like it's detracting from the overall story a bit, though it's still early.

I also thought the whole army across the sea was detracting from the story at first but now with the organization weakened and one of the abyssals seemingly dead it makes sense for the story to widen up.

I'm guessing Priscilla will save Claire's group by fighting the fused monster thing seeing as I don't see them being able to fight for much longer. If Raki gets kidnapped by the organization they could turn him in to something useful.

Raki was definitely the most interesting aspect this chapter. The organisation is delightfully crazy in making new monsters. I honestly think the war across the sea made Claymore a little deeper and actually gave the story more context. Still, I think Priscilla is a wild card right now, no telling what she will do. Help Raki, help Claire, awaken in the process? Maybe she ate a bunch of people to get her strength back. I honestly hated Priscilla, but this is the most interesting she's been in a long time.

2 months for the next chapter? Good fucking god, I can't wait that long! I was looking forward to 'that time of the month' in november...

I'm also very interested in Priscilla. Just because I don't have a clue how things will turn out. Obviously Raki would want Priscilla and Clare to team up, but Priscilla is the reason Clare became a Claymore to begin with, it's hard getting over something like that. It would make sense to team up with Priscilla since the "true" enemy is the organization, but that seems to cheapen all the build-up for the Priscilla hatred (though I kinda forget how much that's been mentioned in the manga, I might be basing things on the anime too much). And how do we even know Priscilla is the most powerful? Is it because Isley considered her to be stronger than him (I think he did anyway, been awhile) and he was considered the strongest? Like Elcura said, Priscilla is the wild card, but then again...there are already like 3-4 different sides in this war, lol...

Priscilla was the strongest awakened being before the 7 years time skip, the reason Isley killed Luciela was that the only way either the remaining abyssal one could take her on is if they cooperated, and even Riful acknowledged just how much stronger she was than her when she tried to kill Isley in the Luciela's fight aftermath

For sure, but I think people are more concerned about what happened to everybody (including Alicia) in that situation. It could either go well for Riful, or go terribly wrong. Considering Beth's reaction to... well to whatever the fuck happened to her, I think Alicia might show a little personality when it comes to awakening.

While I wouldn't be surprised that she would become just another abyssal one just like you say, the uniqueness of the link between the two of them can allow the writer to be a little more creative in what he can do with her character. What specifically? I'm not sure, that's why I was semi-disappointed that we didn't get to see what happened.

Just started reading Claymore a few weeks ago, then saw this (old) thread pop back up. Will be nice to hear others thoughts/insights on this series. I really enjoy it. From what little I do know about what Miria is saying about the war on the other continent etc, I think its a good idea to start widenign the area of interest in Claymore. Sticking to just Claire's desire to kill Priscilla could make for a very narrow and short storyline. I am excited to see how far the door opens up on what new stuff we will be seeing.

Riful's fight just jumps in the middle of it (or near the end I guess), and Priscilla(i think that was priscilla...) is just there somehow.

Riful's fight seemed to make sense to me. The last we saw was Alicia reverting due to Beth being impaled. So, she reverts and continues fighting from there.

Priscilla on the other hand did seem to just appear. Uma and Tabitha were fighting Beth's form previously. Priscilla wasn't shown with Raki earlier so now we know where she went I guess.

All of the fighting between them in the past couple chapters just feels kinda pointless since they're all pretty much being used as weapons. Too many enemies, dunno who the baddies are anymore :S
