I would be happy with bi-weekly, a good middle ground between art quality and chapter releases. This chapter just seemed a little too filler-ish. If releases were more common, people wouldn't really mind the occasional chapter that focuses solely on fighting.
I've pretty much given up on the series at this point. Concept is pretty good, and it hooked me early on, but it's all brinksmanship at this point. It's kind of hard to be impressed with anything when something EVEN MORE POWERFUL comes out the next chapter. Also the fifth time someone almost awakened made the impact kind of lol.
Least it's better than Bleach?
Think im gonna give claymore the same treatment i give soul eater...only read it every 6 to 12 months. It's really got to a point where I just dont care anymore...
Claymore has been good for a long time, and only recently has it been weird. All things considered, I'll keep with Claymore because I have faith they'll pull off some good shit sooner or later.
zzzzz
So sad seeing a brilliant manga become shit because the author sells out and decides to extend the manga as long as possible instead of ending it properly.
All I got left now is One Piece :/ Berserk and Naruto is "ok" still though, I guess.
Where was it supposed to end again?
So, we're back to showing how awesome the black cloth and how shitty the normy claymore again?
Well, not like I have much expectation for the series, but it's still pretty fucking lame
And when was claymore ever brilliant anyway, it had its moment, but I don't think it ever goes above good.
It was fantastic up to around the time when Easley died. I guess it's personal taste but before then most chapters were very good IMO.
As for when it should have ended - it's hard to say. I think, instead of introducing all these new characters, it would probably have been better to have Priscilla weakend a little by the death eaters then Claire could finish her off, in a semi awakened form that resembled Theresa.
I think everything after Easley's death is an incoherent mess.
I think Priscilla was awesome, but yes, it has been a bit silly for a while now.
That would have been horribly rushed.
The writer just needs to stick to whats important and stop adding stuff thats not needed, which is really important when you are only doing 12 chaps a year.
The way I see this story is this:
-Guy watching over Claire is hiding some secret plan(which should be kept until near the end of story and be used to give them the chance to win over the villains)
- the real villain is the organization, Prisicilla should just be Claire's motivation and an eventual enemy that gets taken down along with the organization
- the dragons and outside the island stuff should be kept out of the story with them only serving as the explanation for the organizations doings
-he should stop adding more claymores (can anyone remember which girl is which?)
I just start categorizing the non maincast claymore by hairstyle.
There is twin tail, butch, drillhair, and probably some other less interesting hairstyled one that might still be relevant to the story.
But really, I just wish them horrible painful death at this point.
I guess that was kinda awesome. I suppose the series' quality is inversely proportional to the power level of everyone involved...From where Teresa died to the end of the north war. That shit was brilliant.
The fight now is just fucking boring.
I can kinda understand there being so many characters since it's alot more realistic than having anyone outside the main cast simply not exist but it's getting a bit redokulous unless this is foreshadowing some of these newbies becoming important in a few years but having so many are once for so long is quite simply overdoing the chaos. I think the chaos is winding down a bit with this and we're beginning to see the start of a large scale claymore civil war.
I don't mind extra characters and all, but for god's sake don't fucking let them consume more than 5 pages in a chapter of them being completely irrelevant when the series is a monthly 30 pager.
I mean look at FMA, it had so much side stories and side characters going for them, but they were all fucking relevant, compared to Claymore, even that goddamn Youki was more relevant than half the single digits introduced in this series.
Like seriously, why do we need named claymore to take up character slots usually reserved for hapless peasant in this kind of fantasy setting?
I can agree with that much. The claymores they introduced before the 7 year gap had purpose, and when they died you cared. But the claymores they introduce now are just fodder. I was actually surprised to see them fight for so long.
I quit reading around the time that they mentioned the mainland and that they're just on an island for bullshit reasons. I figured that would be the 'jump the shark' point of the series.
Was I wrong or should I catch up?
It's become a game of memory to remember which claymore is which. The artistic style doesn't really help to show a difference between them besides hairstyle.
