meh, thats where i first watched it

it's alright, I don't really like the idea of the overall story and how most of the episodes dont really have any connection, but some episodes are good and the music is pretty good too. I wouldn't call it awesome, but it's not bad either

First series starts off generically enough, but after about 8~10 episodes the series does have a connection and continuation and it really gets good. Second series is less generic, but each episode is much more interesting, and goes into the past of Enma's helpers. The continuation only really starts around 19/20, and gets really good from there.

And they made a DMC manga/comic, which happened to be canon. I think it was based off DMC3 though, but I dunno.

I kinda like the series, the later episodes do connect like in the first series who what where the hell girl came from and how she came into being, I'm curious about the spider though...

You are correct the manga's show how dante got his signature pistols and sword and the events leading up to DMC3.
